Over last one year, I traveled by road about 1500 km (both way 3000 lm), in the states of Haryana, UP, Punjab. No traffic light. Road has been so smooth, I felt I am traveling by train (sitting in the back). Thank you

I'm happy and proud of the various improvements and development of road construction. but there are a few critical issues: 1) There is much more development in North & West - south very few projects 2) Bangalore - Chennai NH is terrible - very slow road widening work - no progress 3) Toll is very high more than Rs 2 per km - that is 35-40% of petrol/diesel cost - too high.....Toll charges have to be brought down.....
In South there is lot of friction between state & central government.... U see Maharastra in South there lots of projects r in under construction and happening very fast... U need to ask ur state govt to corporate with central govt...

In addition, modern urban transport systems & sanitation systems must be installed, pavement dwellers must be rehoused....one has only to look at cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc with their modern amenities & their infrastructure to appreciate how appallingly backward Indian towns & cities are. Lack of urban development is the single biggest major failing of Modiji's govt. State governments are equally guilty of neglect of urban regeneration. It's this decaying urban infrastructure & smelly slums which now must be tackled on a top priority basis. Most extraordinary fact is that the urban dwellers of all Indian cities seem to accept the slums, poor amenities etc....

I'm happy and proud of the various improvements and development of road construction.
but there are a few critical issues:
1) There is much more development in North & West - south very few projects
2) Bangalore - Chennai NH is terrible - very slow road widening work - no progress
3) Toll is very high more than Rs 2 per km - that is 35-40% of petrol/diesel cost - too high.....Toll charges have to be brought down.....
In South there is lot of friction between state & central government.... U see Maharastra in South there lots of projects r in under construction and happening very fast... U need to ask ur state govt to corporate with central govt...
First vote BJP parties to power in state level then you will see development at faster rate...

India will never become a developed nation until modern urban infrastructure is installed.....urban regeneration is a topmost priority now,
which means sprawling, filthy slums from towns & cities across India must be cleared, affordable housing must be provided to rehouse those displaced by slum clearance . In addition, modern urban transport systems & sanitation systems must be installed, pavement dwellers must be rehoused....one has only to look at cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc with their modern amenities & their infrastructure to appreciate how appallingly backward Indian towns & cities are. Lack of urban development is the single biggest major failing of Modiji's govt.
State governments are equally guilty of neglect of urban regeneration.
It's this decaying urban infrastructure & smelly slums which now must be tackled on a top priority basis. Most extraordinary fact is that the urban dwellers of all Indian cities seem to accept the slums, poor amenities etc....

Great to see instead of giving a political answer, he acknowledged that the number of road accidents are highest in India in the world and quality of roads and automobiles are root cause of it. It reflects his honesty! Everyone need to respect traffic rules and laws to increase road safety in INDIA.
The biggest power Gadkari ji holds is his diversified mind which enables him to think in a very productive manner. He is one of the few politicians heading a very important Ministry in India. He has a good situational knowledge and more importantly knows how to follow through and execute. The latter is more important as we are finally able to see some progress with a real impact. We are not perfect but we are making progress in this front. We need this kind of self awareness and attitude to power through.
When I was doing my MBA back in 2013 , my economics professor was telling us about great depression(1930) and how much it's affecting the world economy so there is a case study about american economy and how there govt. Spend there money making infrastructure (road & railway)which is like unnecessary at time but after depression american it just left the world behind in term of economy &security

NITIN Gadkari Saheb at his house (at Mahal) in Nagpur 9 years before for a SMART ROAD for SMART CITIES a TOTALLY NEW Concept. Despite his Conceptual APPROVAL and FOLLOW up with Authorities in Pune I could not achieve / Complete it. But the IDEA is STILL VALID and I would like to do if possible.
