Fr you guys are the best I’m really enjoying your videos in Iraq bc I’m not allowed to go there for safety reasons, but can you guys give us your honest review of Baghdad from A to Z ?
As a resident of Baghdad I hope this will be useful, the city has different sides, like all places there are bad sides and good sides, generally the city is a bit lacking in the more densely populated areas although that is changing with the new PM. Baghdad is divided into 4 or 5 different areas, Reesafa Karkh Kadhimia and other 2 that I forgot lol, anyways Karkh is better in services and Reesafa has some good places to offer although Karkh is more high-end u can say. Kadhimia is above the others considering it has one of the most important Holy shrines for Shiaa muslims and it gets millions of visitors from different Muslim countries yearly. Then u have the green zone which isn't open for civilians and is a bit too restricted, even military personnel have to go through a bit of a process to get there. In terms of safety and as someone who lived in Baghdad for all my life, in the past 7 or so years Baghdad has improved a lot in safety, like we went from tens of bombings a day to zero a year, you don't expect to get shot on the spot like a war zone, its simply normal, there are places that one should be careful when visiting, poor areas are usually a bit less safe, ig its like the dangerous hoods they have in the US? Although a bit less lawless. Imma simplify it, Electricity, bad but got better and Iraqis have alternative solutions such as local electricity providers which every single Iraqi use. Water, I haven't seen much water problems in the area I live in but don't expect to drink from the water the government provides. Internet, extremely shitty at times unless u get FTTH or 4G+ both of which are spreading fast. Air quality, extremely bad, its a cramped city with less green areas but this too is changing because there are greening campaigns. And damn I wrote a lot lol I hope this was helpful, there are a lot more to add but I guess I added plenty enough. Feel free to ask and I would happily answer when I'm off-duty. Have a nice day.
