While Metal doesn't outright blame Infinite for any failings, he refuses to accept any greater responsibility for said failings even though he's the one who brought them about, and then dismisses Infinite's concerns as pointless and thus amplifies the friction.
Sonic fans are something else. Also, shoutouts to Sega being so chill about mods, hacks, and fanworks, that there is an entire yearly Sonic hacking competition, and the Sonic The Hedgehog account commented on a Sonic X reanimated project.
Sega’s games can be wishy washy in quality, but they understand that Sonic as a brand is carried by the fact it has such a die hard fan base. Then you got Nintendo which even the mid tier Mario games are still fun but if you so much look at their IPs they will carpet bomb your neighborhood

I wanted to play this so bad when it came out that I literally bought Forces on Steam, but then I couldn't play it because it doesn't support Play Station Controllers for whatever reason, and no layout or profile or anything could get either my PS4 or my PS5 controller to actually work on the game. I'm glad someone made a video, though. I was really excited to see this game one way or another

I think the reason fans can even do stuff like this to begin with is because of how relaxed SEGA is with these kind of things. And I kinda think it's on purpose to find talented people to potentially hire like how Sonic Mania had a lot of people who made good fan games on the team. Generally speaking Sonic team has some of the best fan interaction out of any studio or company I've seen. And it just makes this little Sonic renaissance that's happening all the better.
At first I thought this was gonna be like a dlc or something, then he said it was a fan mod and I realized that made more sense than a good sonic game.
Salty, please play Project 06. It's a full remaster of Sonic 06, and it makes it actually fun to play. A ton of things were re-worked, like the controls, characters, stages, everything. I don't think it's fully out, but it looks amazing
