No, it is: "leaving Niemann **completely** bishopless" (~agad) funnily implying that you can be partly bishopless :) But here none of this we are completely bishopless :))))
Literally the next move is a new game... Imagine living in a time where engines have proven that on a human level ingenuity does, in fact, matter, and repeating Fishers complaints without understanding them. His whole point was that opening prep showed that only a few lines were actually playable and that's been proven wrong pretty damn conclusively.
Even w/o engine, grouo study and game analysis would still lead to longer and longer theoretical lines and opening prep. Engine perhaps just streamlines the process. If Fisher hates opening prep then that's his problem
I was quite pleased to find Rh4 at the end defending the bishop, but Agad’s opinion was: “What is this? We are not even going to comment on this” & Medo walked away
@@gredangeo Magnus would have free reign over 3/4 of the board. His bishop could pick off the pawn, he could advance the a pawn, the white king is still trapped on the 1st row...it's a disaster.
Bf2+ picks up the g3 pawn and basically traps the rook, at best you get Bf2+ Kf1 Bxg3 Rh1 Ra1+ Kg2 Rxh1 Kxh1 Kxh5 and this is a really easy continuation (just capture capture capture with 2 checks) and there's basically no hope that you could possibly bait the opponent into blundering the game. Visually it also just looks awful. Rook is in jail and holding onto the bishop with 1 arm. A mile away there's an unstoppable passed pawn about to mate your king. Sure, your rook may hold the bishop up for now, but the scene itself is just ugly.
I could be wrong but I think Magnus often tries to kill off as many pieces as possible as quickly as possible to get to the end game where he will beat his opponent to death. But that's just my opinion.
Hi everyone, at 3:10, where agad says that bxe2 wouldn't work, I see kh1, then after qxe7 white cannot take on h2 without qh4, which looks like an indefensible fork to recapture the bishop. I suppose the answer is probably that white would play g3 instead of kxh2 to block the bishop, and then down the line the bishop falls or the position is simply not worth it.
@@primeobjective5469 hahaha ok but I mean #9LX is pretty much Middlegames and endgames. Assuming middlegames don't exist, why wouldn't Magnus dominate #9LX even MORE than chess? Or is Wesley somehow god of middlegames or best Middlegame player currently or something?

In the FTX Crypto Cup, Niemann and his opponent Jan-Krzysztof Duda encountered technological problems involving the laptop Duda was using during the first round.
