He married my mom when I was 8, and he was there for me in every possible way. He's not here with me anymore, but I thank him every single day for showing me what a real father is. I can relate too her song as a child. My father left us when I was 5 and I always believed he didn't love me. As an adult I found my father and got to spend like6 years until he passed in 06. Still believing he just left. My mother finally told me why he left. It was over her braking his heart from an affair. I was upset with my mother for almost 2 years, but have forgiven her. I have prayed to god about my father in hopes he is in heaven that I forgive him. I was upset with him until I knew the truth. He never told me. When my sister and I cleaned his small apartment and found pictures of all of his children and pictures of my mother there. I knew he did love us just did not know yet why??? But my step father showed me that there are good men out there and he wanted to adopt me but my dad wouldn't sign that paper's or pay child support. We are talkkng about a man that was once had million dollar business. I has a bad first marrige and now I have a wonderful man in my life. This hits home to me in so many ways. I lost all my parents in one year. With on months apart. I dont ask for nothing my step father tought me ans a strong single mother tought me... That I could stand strong. Even when my mother and him got a divorce he was there for me. Proud of me. I loved him and he left everything he had to my brother and i and I don't even have anything, not even a shirt of my real dad's. My step mother was just curl when it come to that. My brother and I got no say in anything. Like we didnt even excsist. I don't even have one ash.

After I left I had a drug and alcohol problem. I tried to numb the pain she caused me. I was to the point I just wanted to die til my husband came along into my life and put me back together and showed me the way. Then I had our daughter and then my son and I make it a point not to be my mother and show them the love I wish I had from my mother. My kids and my husband keep me going. I am 10 years sober and feels amazing. I still struggle day by day by my kids are what help me get out of bed every morning. Thank you Kelly for writing this song.

Kelly is from my home town she went to school with both of my kids she was sweet as a kid and blossomed into a wonderful kind hearted human being

But my step father showed me that there are good men out there and he wanted to adopt me but my dad wouldn't sign that paper's or pay child support. We are talkkng about a man that was once had million dollar business. I has a bad first marrige and now I have a wonderful man in my life. This hits home to me in so many ways. I lost all my parents in one year. With on months apart. I dont ask for nothing my step father tought me ans a strong single mother tought me... That I could stand strong. Even when my mother and him got a divorce he was there for me. Proud of me. I loved him and he left everything he had to my brother and i and I don't even have anything, not even a shirt of my real dad's. My step mother was just curl when it come to that. My brother and I got no say in anything. Like we didnt even excsist. I don't even have one ash.

I can relate to that song but for me my mother left my sister and I I was only a few months old and she left us. But in my sister she tried coming back but only to abuse us mentally, physically and emotionally. I tried looking past all that til I tried living with her for 2 years thinking maybe she has changed and she didn't at all. She abuses me even more and let her husband molest me. After I left I had a drug and alcohol problem. I tried to numb the pain she caused me. I was to the point I just wanted to die til my husband came along into my life and put me back together and showed me the way. Then I had our daughter and then my son and I make it a point not to be my mother and show them the love I wish I had from my mother. My kids and my husband keep me going. I am 10 years sober and feels amazing. I still struggle day by day by my kids are what help me get out of bed every morning. Thank you Kelly for writing this song.
