Hey! You can upload gifs with the image custom tool available for download on their website & I'm not aware of any way you can change the time on the screen, it should sync as soon as you plug the keyboard into the computer! I also added a link to the downloads page for the image custom tool if you need it in the description!

I'm not sure it works on mac right now... might only be a windows program. You don't need the JSON file unless you want to customize the certain keys on your keyboard to be other keys, just the program on a windows computer!
Definitely prefer the keyboard after tape modding! Kinda more marbly (marble-y? idk lol) sounding and I'm a huge fan of that

are the keycaps backlit?
no they are not! If you need backlit I would suggest buying the barebone & getting your own keycaps!
