Man, could you imagine seeing a Dimensional Horror? Some of the critters could be rationalized as basically just being space whales. They are immense, but we can conceptualize them. Seeing a Dimensional Horror literally trying to drag itself into our universe through a hole in reality would be brain melting.

That's why you kill them in an instant from a solar system away.

you can kill anything if you have big enough guns. Even real life nuclear weapons can burn hotter than sun, so it's reasonable to assume that Stellaris militaries can go much further. Even a dimensional horror would probably feel it if the equivalent of thousands of concentrated supernovas explode in it's face. Mass accelerators that use faster than light technology can theoretically strike with infinite force since that is infinite acceleration. Visual confirmation isn't possible in space across such distances and the ship crews would be using instrumentation and sensors, not windows or cameras, so the brain melting part shouldn't happen if there is no direct line of sight. At worst even if the crew is in shock or driven to madness the ship's AI would be able to take over and continue firing at the creature. Computers would be doing the firing solutions anyway and wouldn't need much input from organic crew. Sci fi problems require sci fi solutions.

After the conquest of the Damia sector, the army had seen some things. And as a result, they gained experience. As the new fleets furthered their conquest, they thought that the end was in sight. They meaning the senior staff, the overall commander of the navy, overall commander of the army, and the president.
Then, the crewmen heard something. A distant roar that put chills into their spine, reaching the deepest depths of their soul. A roar of a creature of vast magnitude, and strength that no singular entity could best. A roar primeval in nature, and reaching across sectors of space.
As the dimensional horror was found, the overall commander of the navy soon found three papers on his desk. The first came from the senior staff, the second from the president, and the third from the Council. They all said the same statement, aside from all the corporate fluff:
"Destroy the dimensional horror in the Luusaj Black Hole at all costs."
As the commander couldn't say no to this order, and because he thought best that this thing be destroyed into tiny and even tinier molecules to never threaten the galaxy, he assembled every military fleet of his faction. All fleets that were either conducting war or patrolling were to be put on halt, and continue to this offensive; Monster slaying it could be called.
A total of 92,000 ships were gathered, and organized. They all approached the black hole. As they entered the sector, most did not see the entity. Most worked in windowless rooms from the boiler rooms to the batteries that relied on calculations and computers. But, even in the few rooms which had view of space, the windows were closed. Ignorance was better than knowledge.
As they entered the sector, the 20,000 armada guns began firing. The entity, seeing and sensing a disturbance in its domain, retaliated. It used its laser of eldritch-space material from a distance, and once the armada closed distance, It used its many arms to slice ships in half. But as the monster attacked the 20,000 armada, another armada numbering 72,000 shot behind its back.
The battle was a scene of different themes and technologies. The technology of an advanced race using laser weaponry that burned as brightly as the sun, projectiles that could destroy planets. Eldritch matter of an entity barely understood, cutting through advanced matter of ships and flesh alike, beams of dark matter searing through the vast emptiness of space.
As the creature was blown to pieces by advanced weaponry, holes and dark "blood" appearing, the armadas had a morale boost. They fired with decreased reload time, knowing that they could defeat the abyssal monster, even as ships were torn apart by tendrils and blown apart by dark matter of another universe.
After earth days of fighting, the creature was finally defeated. Everyone is unsure of what happened next, but, at least as some theories state, the creature simply disappeared, evaporated into thin dust, its body splinted into smaller pieces, or maybe even some researchers took it and studied it.
Whatever happened after the fighting ended, both armadas had taken a death toll. But, those living breathed again. The entity had been banished and could not trouble the galaxy anymore.
Note: I have never played Sterallis, I did not know what happens after the event also. I'm just basing it off of this video. Have a goo day, and thank you for reading!
