This version sounds close enough to the 2005 countdown (especially the strings). I wonder if David Lowe composed this countdown as an alternative or prototype version… It won’t be used for the 2001 countdown because 1. It does not sound like something Lowe would have composed in that era 2. That blue countdown is verified to be fake / a mock.
I remember first hearing the music here from a BBC World 2003 countdown mock years ago! Great to see it being used again.
