The son even said it was fine for him to stay home and order a pizza. It's so funny when parents end up raising children who are better people than they are
@@sailorsallyrockinrarity2130one of my pet theories is a lot of people pay lip service to treating people right/respectfully bc it looks good or they feel like they have to, and then they get surprised when thier kids took those lessons seriously Not saying its the only thing thats happening, but it feels like a factor sometimes
As someone whos family only ever did a birthday dinner (if even that) since i was 13, yeah id be absolutely pissed & it makes you feel so unimportant to your own family
Story 2: the way OP views her family is creepy. She says that her led gets good grades and the sister must be jealous bc her family is ‘doing so well’. She makes it sound like her children are a long term project she’s working on. Really weird
Unfortunately, a lot of parents view their children as "projects" and commodities and not as individual human beings. These parents view children as extensions of themselves. It's gross.
Story 1 is so upsetting. Burning through a 7 figure sum of money AND the money coming from the house she sold in what could only have been some months in more than alarming. That amount of money could and should have been enough to feed her and her daughter for the rest of her live especially considering that the house she had was albready being paid off. Also basically stealing her daughters college fund doesn't fix anything. It only creates even more problems and shows that OP just can't act responsible with money. IMO she should get advise from an expert as soon as possible.
Also if she sold the house before it was paid off, she still has to pay it off. I wouldn’t be surprised if she sold the house at a loss thinking she wouldn’t have to finish paying for it. If she really wanted to move, she should have gotten a job, hired an accountant or financial advisor, invested her savings in safe stocks, waited a few years for her stocks to mature while the market is up, sold some of them, then moved and rented the old house out assuming they were in a good financial position to do so. During those few years, she could also look at other nice areas to decide where to move to, and do some research to make sure she could actually afford to live there when the time came. I know nothing about finances and even I came up with a much better plan than spontaneously buying a house you can’t afford and then liquidating your kid’s college fund to pay for it instead of accepting the L and downsizing.
Absolutely, she should have done a basement renovation on the paid off house so she could have rented out the basement and BOOM, whole new income stream in addition to a FREE place to live. 🤦🏻♀️
I'm more concerned about OPs children, since OPs opinion is factually wrong anyways. Bet she is going to devalue anything the kids do if it's not exactly what she wants.
Yeeeeah, having someone in your life who only values money as an indication of something being worthwhile/valuable is a major drag. There’s plenty of other things that bring people fulfilment, but trying to explain that to people who are just like “But what’s your income???” is soul sucking.
Story 5: "my brother is prioritizing his WIFE over his FAMILY" does OP not realize the oxymoron there? Why on earth would she think her brother wanted to take his younger sister of 9 years on a vacation with his wife? And if her parents can't "stop" their son (why should they??) what's keeping them from stopping her? She's 18. If she's driving their car then maybe she should save up for a train ticket or something. And yet she doesn't get why her brother sees it as babysitting?
I was thinking the same. Not that is matters, but it DOES make it even worse if it was their honeymoon. OP sounds like someone who would omit such details to make herself look less like an AH.
@@ladyraven3418 I'm not sure she's omitting them to make herself look better or if she's a bit dense. Honeymoon or not, it doesn't take a genius to figure out why they wouldn't want to share a hotel room with her, but she's going on about how it wouldn't cost extra.
@@lostshadows768 yeah I was thinking the same. Like this OP should prolly see a dr and get some kind of help in someway because the cogs are not turning.
When I worked in food service, I served hundreds of guests a day through the drive thru alone. A LOT of them would try to strike up conversations. Add to that when helping out in the dining room. I couldn't entertain all of them while still doing my job quick and efficiently. While yes, sometimes chit chat will happen when slow periods allow for it, generally staff do not have time for personal conversations.
Casual chit chat and a pointed personal interest are different. Had he done this hi how are you can I get a whatever. And good weather we’re having today, I get it.
Exactly! She keeps going on about going "as a family", but the rest of the family are clearly not on board, so... the whole family is only her in her mind I guess?
Story 8 is NTA wtf?! She literally asked, and was told yes that she could do it. It wasn't advertised as kids only. When she was being gossiped about, she even gave some back. Why are her neighbors so angry about her acting childish? She volunteered at the event to make up for the opportunity.
It's not JUST that she was the only adult, it's that her age clearly gave her an advantage and she got a whole bunch off eggs (enough eggs that she felt that giving them all away would take too long), if she had just taken a few it wouldn't be so bad, but it just looks bad that she got a full basket in a competition where everyone else are kids. As an adult she just had an unfair advantage, and it feels like cheating. Though it's definitely also the fault of whoever told her she could sing in, they shouldn't have let her.
@rosemarythesheep8272 the amount of eggs wasn't her fault. She just got into the zone due to her ADHD and wasn't paying attention. Also what advantage exactly does she gain from being an adult?
I’m just imagining someone saying, “Don’t talk to me or my children ever again.” and picking up thousands of stuffed animals under both arms and walking off in silence.
OP sounded jealous that her sister was able to succeed in a career while she couldn’t and became stuck as a trophy wife. Nothing wrong with being a stay at home wife but that doesn’t mean she’s jealous
The NY trip - You dad doesn't want you to drive to New York? You're 18. You don't need his permission to drive ANYWHERE. If you can't drive, take a bus, fly. Go to NY on your own and leave your brother and his wife alone.
I thought everything was off because they talked about babysitting an 18 year old. The brother is not an a because it sounds as this is meant to be their honeymoon or at least first vacation as a married couple. The dad could not allow her to take his car though and OP doesn’t sound very mature.
@@Falco2Itachi Assuming it is the dad's car. All OP said was that dad didn't want her to drive because it's pretty far. So we don't know whose car it is. I think we can pretty much all agree that OP is an immature brat at best and an A-h in any case.
My guess is that her dad is telling her no because she is being just as immature as she sounds in the post. The whole idea of being dropped of at that friends home and probably staying there, but maybe not and then the only fallback plan being to sleep on the couch in her brothers hotel room sounds horribly immature and childish. As her Dad I definitly wouldn't trust her to go by herself after her suggesting that.
@@Falco2Itachi If you check the comments, this person thought the idea of saving up money for a trip would be a waste because brother is going anyway. So, you know, just a complete AH.
OMG, story 5! "He prioritized his wife over me!" Yeah, honey, that's what a husband is SUPPOSED to do! Smh! And I can't believe OP didn't see a problem with sleeping on the sofa in their hotel room while they're on a romantic vacation. Is she really so self involved that she doesn't realize her brother would want to make love to his wife at night, not listen to OP snoring from across the room? What an unbelievable selfish a** this girl is! And then she acts all shocked when the brother stops speaking to her! When she can't take no for an answer and doesn't get her way, what does she do? Complains to mommy and daddy that her brother is being mean and choosing his wife over her on their romantic vacation! Wah, wah, wah! Unbelievable!
What was her plan if her brother started to get spicy with his wife while she was sleeping on the couch. Seriously, maybe if her brother said, "I don't want you to watch us have sex you pervert!" That would have gotten the message across. Like, what does she think newlyweds do?
S2 - it sounds like OP is jealous and obsessed with her sister, finding fault with everything she doesn’t have. If sister felt like the doll was actually her baby, she would have brought it with her. Her sister has minimum responsibilities, has companionship without demands, gets to travel, and be recognized for her accomplishments. OP YTA and should seek therapy since she’s so unhappy with her choices.
Fun fact: the Ilia Underwing moth is also known as the "Beloved Underwing." Now, I don't know how to go about it officially, but I think lots of animals deserve an awesome secondary name as an honorific. The capybara? The "chill bro." Crows? "Smarypants" Hippos? "Murder muppets." And so on. Who's with me on this?
I can't help but picture the op in story 8 as a Stardew Valley character, for anyone who hasn't played it the main character is an adult you can take part in an egg hunt, if the player doesn't win it's the other adult (an NPC character) who will, so it ends up being kids getting beat by adults taking part in something meant for children.
Also, I turn 30 in 12 days. I still have stuffies, and love barbie dolls. I have another Adult friend that loves dolls as well. Sometimes we get together and play for hours. It would be creepy if we were trying to play with children or if we were playing like children. There is no law that states that toys are only for children. When did we get too old for play? I also don't want children, or ever want to be a homemaker. That story where the op says her sister is jealous is so out of touch. Tbh her life sounds like a living hell on earth to me. I would hate to be OP. I'm happy she's happy with her life, but it would never work for me. It sounds like her sister is very similar in a way.
I’m 31 and there’s so many things beyond children that is great in life. I want them, really bad, but my life would still be good without them. I’m not jealous of someone who lives a life like OP, that sounds awful and terrifying. What happens if her SO dies?? Or leaves her? Gets injured? All eggs in one basket is just not smth I can be jealous of. And I also have many childish hobbies etc. I have MORE “childish” ones now in my 30s because I care so much less about doing what is “mature”.” Everyone should just do what they enjoy, as long as it doesn’t hurt others. People who believe life would be empty without children likely suffer from a lack of personality
About story 4, couldn’t they just leave the brother at home? It’s the daughter’s choice because it’s her birthday! Maybe she’d like to have just her parents there? Edit: And for story 2. I have a little stuffed animal fox I got back when I was a tween. It was the first purchase I ever made. My grandmother had given me money to buy something on a vacation and that was what I chose. I’ve always loved stuffed animals and animal, and foxes are one of my many favorites. So I picked him because I felt a connection with it, it was that feeling when you find something and you’re like, “I need this.” I named him Foxy (very creative, I know) and took him with me everywhere for the remainder of that vacation, I would even prop him up so he could “see” things. And you know what? All these years later I *still* do it! I make him wave at people and put him on my shoulder or head to carry him around. I do this at home, not in public lol. But anyone who knows me knows I love that little guy. 2nd Edit: I forgot to mention, my grandmother passed away back in 2021 so that little fox holds even more value to me.
Awww, that's so cute. I've always loved plushies too. They're great comfort items and I collect one from my favorite games and anime as well as my favorite animals. Maybe it's because most of my friends are neurodiverse like me, but having plushies well into adulthood is normal for us. If we go to see a movie that has some fandom/special interest connection, we each bring a plush that matches the theme. For example, when we went to see the Mario movie, we each brought a Nintendo themed plush. It's fun and whimsical.
13:09 This summer child doesn't know what newlyweds use hotel rooms for if she doesn't understand why sleeping on the couch would be an absolute intrusion. 😂
Story 8: I actually feel a little bad for OP, but it's probably because I've been there. ADHD is a developmental disorder, and one of the biggest problems it causes over time is the delay of emotional maturity. Hell, I didn't start to actually feel like an adult until 27, and it pretty much only started to happen because I had my appendix burst the year before and the very near death experience was traumatic.
I agree. It’s also on the people running it saying that she could sign up. I mean a couple social cues may have been missed in the aftermath, but if it was truly supposed to be for kids ONLY then they should have said that and not let her sign up. (Also I’m sorry about your appendix. I know that pain and experience too. Not fun)
Story 4:DUDE,Even with the son saying he's ok with pizza and video games, even with father saying she should go where she wants,OP STILL SAYS NO?!? What in the world???
The one where the mother stole he daughters college fund. She's not the ah for trying to fix her mistakes. She is the AH for how she chose to "fix" them and for making them to begin with. Her late husband said, please trust and listen to my lawyer. She went against his wishes. She stole money that didn't belong to her and broke trust with her daughter. All because she didn't want to sell the house she couldn't afford. Stupid, stupid. If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. Plane and simple. That money could have been invested in the daughters future, thereby making more money (hopefully and in theory) in the future. Instead she used it to just postpone the inevitable. What about the next payment? She can't steal from her daughter then.
story 4 pissed me off cause i have a sister with gluten and dairy allergies and my younger bro doesnt eat fish. he isnt alergic but decided at a young age he didnt want to eat fish and we respect that. theres also my little sister whos pretty picky but guess what if its someones birthday it doesnt matter what the other's food restrictions are cause its THEIR BDAY DINNER! we have gone to sushi restaurants for birthdays or like places that dont serve much allergy friendly foods plenty of times and you wanna know what we did to solve this? they either just chilled at home or THEY ATE BEFORE HAND! my older sis has come into places with her own food due to allergies or when we eat at a sea food restaurant with not much for my bro we grab him some food from a nearby place or on our way home! we even do this for regular non bday meals! like oh my god lady get better at making things work instead of just brute forcing it and making people do your plan. literally your entire family told you its fine and offered a solution but nope apparently your own daughters bday isnt important enough to put some extra effort in
Story 1: how the hell can you reach adulthood without realizing that home ownership costs more than the initial price of the house? How did she think people get water, gas, electric, AC/heating, emergency repairs, etc? Did she not realize that she’d need a steady income making more than what the mortgage and maintenance cost in order to remain debt-free? Or that that she may need to buy new furniture and appliances (depending on what she needs for each house), she’d need to pay for movers, installation of some things, plus (again) the cost of maintaining the house? Did she not know that moving to an expensive area generally means the cost of living is higher? These really are the basics of home ownership and anyone looking to buy a house should know these things beforehand and/or learn about them while they’re looking for homes. If home ownership were as inexpensive as just the cost of the house, I wouldn’t still be living with my parents in my mid-20s. This woman needed a reality check, but unfortunately it seems to have come at the expense of her daughter’s education and/or future financial security.
@elleumm is the G.O.AT, this was a great suggestion. I feel like it’s hard to get behind some of the AITA posts where the person isn’t the a-hole because you know we’re only hearing their side of the story, so we’re probably not getting the full picture. These are way more fun because you know since we’re only hearing OP’s side of the story and they’re STILL the a-hole they must REALLY be the a-hole.
Pretty sure that 1st OP needed a jumbo loan (>700k) to get a house in Malibu. I think the average Malibu house is >5 million. She probably even had a down payment, so the fact that she still couldn't afford it and thought it would all work out is crazy. I don't understand a person who has a teenage daughter yet still doesn't understand you can't afford a 30k mortgage if you don't work lol
r/amithedevil! This is brilliant! It's great to see some of the worst of the worst, the fact that so many are unaware and self absorbed enough to write these out with the thinking they could be right is mind boggling and wonderfully entertaining. I look forward to more devils in the future! 😂😂🎉🎉
My family does one Easter egg hunt for the kids. Then they do a harder one, with some money eggs included, for the adults. I think it’s a nice solution to getting everyone involved.

Some customers really convince themselves that the workers are there as a quaint hobby or something. I've had people get mad when I try to extricate myself from a conversation to help the next customer. It's not just my time they're taking up, it's the other shoppers' time, too. If things are slow and the person really seems to be someone I'd like to chat with in my off time, I might write my Insta on the receipt, but that's really rare.
Best practice is: order first, compliment tattoo, say you like the show, say your favorite character and then ask their favorite character IF: it’s slow; they are receptive to the first compliment; you’re not posing the question is a “prove it to me.” You can also just compliment the tattoo, say “I love that show too” and leave it at that. It’s a lot to ask a cs employee to be that conversational with EVERY customer. You kind of run out of steam
I'm guessing it was a corporate coffee chain like Starbucks, they're timed on how long the order takes from start to finish. Those metrics are used against the barista when it comes to divvying up hours for the week. She was trying to keep the line moving.

My tongue started to tingle, so I had to hurry up and put it in the fridge and wash the counter down. I can't afford an epi-pen so I don't have one. But I do take antihistamines daily, allergic to dust and that's everywhere, so I think my reactions are muted compared to what they could be. @@sailorsallyrockinrarity2130one of my pet theories is a lot of people pay lip service to treating people right/respectfully bc it looks good or they feel like they have to, and then they get surprised when thier kids took those lessons seriously
Not saying its the only thing thats happening, but it feels like a factor sometimes

Sorry 5: "they can't make him do anything, even tho he's their son" he's a grown man going on a romantic vacation with his new wife.
It's gross.
Narcissistic mentality on her part. Sees people only as objects.
I really want to see Dave Ramsey scream at this woman lol
@@sailorsallyrockinrarity2130 or Gordon, if the business is a restaurant
As someone strict with money and investments, I nearly screamed listening to the first story
Story 2: I'm sure teachers, social workers, and such will be shocked to learn they don't have careers, just because society undervalues them.
I'm more concerned about OPs children, since OPs opinion is factually wrong anyways.

Given the time frame, it's probably their honeymoon. They got married a month ago.
Story 5: "who he only married like a month ago"
No, you don't get to tag along on what is quite probably their honeymoon.

The fact that even the son and the husband in story 4 are in support of what OPs kid wants says a lot about OP huh
Exactly! Especially since she has ADHD which can make things so much harder (speaking as someone who has it myself)

"My gf's family has been spending all this money on me, but I refuse to even OFFER to spend money on them just this once."
Does he not want to form a good relationship with his (hopefully not anymore) future father - in - law?
"I asked her if the rolls where reversed" right after describing how they paid for hus entire vacation essentially
@@rolandhansen812 Sure I assumed it’s his car because I thought OP wouldn’t listen if it was hers.
It's like she doesn't even know what sex is or that couples like to have it
There are exceptions to prioritizing a spouse over family but this ain't one of them
S2 - it sounds like OP is jealous and obsessed with her sister, finding fault with everything she doesn’t have. If sister felt like the doll was actually her baby, she would have brought it with her. Her sister has minimum responsibilities, has companionship without demands, gets to travel, and be recognized for her accomplishments. OP YTA and should seek therapy since she’s so unhappy with her choices.
And maybe the sister doesn't want a romantic/sexual relationship. Being aro/ace is a thing. So is being child-free.
Fun fact: the Ilia Underwing moth is also known as the "Beloved Underwing."
Now, I don't know how to go about it officially, but I think lots of animals deserve an awesome secondary name as an honorific. The capybara? The "chill bro." Crows? "Smarypants" Hippos? "Murder muppets." And so on.
Who's with me on this?
I call dibs in wolves being “nature’s fluff boys” 😂
I can't help but picture the op in story 8 as a Stardew Valley character, for anyone who hasn't played it the main character is an adult you can take part in an egg hunt, if the player doesn't win it's the other adult (an NPC character) who will, so it ends up being kids getting beat by adults taking part in something meant for children.
Kinda makes me wish the newest update allowed up to have one of the kids win, either by sabotage or striking up a deal with the other adult character.
Also,
I turn 30 in 12 days.
Based off the comments people don't think she's happy with her life but probably wants her sis's life
I’m 31 and there’s so many things beyond children that is great in life.
So I picked him because I felt a connection with it, it was that feeling when you find something and you’re like, “I need this.”
I named him Foxy (very creative, I know) and took him with me everywhere for the remainder of that vacation, I would even prop him up so he could “see” things.

I do the same thing whenever I get the chance. It makes me happy. As long as it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, who cares?
Not fun)
Especially the fact that she tried to make up for it when she realized
Story 4:DUDE,Even with the son saying he's ok with pizza and video games, even with father saying she should go where she wants,OP STILL SAYS NO?!?
What in the world???
Gee, I wonder who Mommy's favorite is.
She stopped listening to him because he wasn't saying what she WANTED to hear. Very good advice is useless if you very seldom follow it.
story 4 pissed me off cause i have a sister with gluten and dairy allergies and my younger bro doesnt eat fish. he isnt alergic but decided at a young age he didnt want to eat fish and we respect that. theres also my little sister whos pretty picky but guess what if its someones birthday it doesnt matter what the other's food restrictions are cause its THEIR BDAY DINNER! we have gone to sushi restaurants for birthdays or like places that dont serve much allergy friendly foods plenty of times and you wanna know what we did to solve this? they either just chilled at home or THEY ATE BEFORE HAND! my older sis has come into places with her own food due to allergies or when we eat at a sea food restaurant with not much for my bro we grab him some food from a nearby place or on our way home! we even do this for regular non bday meals! like oh my god lady get better at making things work instead of just brute forcing it and making people do your plan. literally your entire family told you its fine and offered a solution but nope apparently your own daughters bday isnt important enough to put some extra effort in
Story 1: how the hell can you reach adulthood without realizing that home ownership costs more than the initial price of the house?

It was okay for him to ask about it once, but the barista clearly didn't want to chat so he should've dropped it at that point and ordered.
@@borealernadelwald I fully agree and wish I had included it earlier in my comment.

Once I came home and someone had cooked catfish, it was hours after but it was left out (cooled down) on the counter. My tongue started to tingle, so I had to hurry up and put it in the fridge and wash the counter down. I can't afford an epi-pen so I don't have one. But I do take antihistamines daily, allergic to dust and that's everywhere, so I think my reactions are muted compared to what they could be.
But even when on my meds, if I walk into a room with shrimp being cooked hours ago, I have reactions.
Does OP really think a career is defined by how much money you make?
And 0P was literally just making shit up anyways. She doesn’t genuinely believe that it’s a baby and you effing know that you terrible terrible person.
On which story?
@@Birdman47 story 2 I’m guessing
A scary tädduu video would be indeed hilarious :D
Story 7: OP better be counting the days until her son turns 18 and throws her into a nursing home. she has a real pair of balls to force him to lose his job for "family time" and then ground him for rightfully being pissed off at her.
Yes - more Am I the Devil please! 😈 This will give listeners ample opportunity to lose faith in humanity for 15 minutes, only for it to be redeemed by 5 minutes of wholesome memes at the end 😂
Story 8: clearly this is just Abigail from stardew valley 👀
story 2: why does this post reek of projection lol
i'd hate to see what the op with the lifeguard son thinks holding it against him would look like if this wasn't it
Swamp puppy 🥹 I love wholesome memes
Op 2 has some issues of her own.
18:08 as a man, how do you not take this opportunity to impress your girlfriends dad?
First time I payed the bill for my girlfriends family, there was 7 adults and 2 kids eating. My future father in law looked shook. He said "this is the first time one of my kids has bought MY dinner"
Pretty much anything anyone earns is passively what a surgeon earns lol
Story 2:OP was literally being a 5 year old bully,i see nothing that says i'm wrong about this
Idea for a sub to cover: r/traumatizethemback
It's basically people not taking any shit from rude people and matching their energy
S1 is a tragedy I would never speak to that woman ever again she is not family that’s a selfish demon who does not care about her kid at all
You should seriously look into R/TreeLaw. It’s hilarious, petty, and extreme revenge all around someone messing with the OP’s trees. Trees are expensive and even more so when it’s cut illegally.
TREE LAW
What monster does that to their kid? 💀
Are you referring to anyone specifically?
i’ve heard the easter egg story multiple times and it still pisses me off. why would they let her participate if it clearly wasn’t what anyone wanted? they clearly don’t actually want adults there, set that in stone and deny her instead of getting people like OP’s hopes up. it’s all on the organizers, and the parents who just stood around like jerks watching OP instead of confronting her when she started to join in. god i hate neurotypical people sometimes. JUST SAY WHAT YOU MEAN.
The way you react to some AITA posts I just know that you’re gonna be FLABBERGASTED with this subreddit lol
Story 7: gee I’m just thinking back to how much I tried to get a job but couldn’t get one at all because no one would hire me and here OP is all like “there are millions of part time jobs”
VINCEY I LOVE UR VIDS
+ Algorithm support
Less algorithm support
Yeah April fools 😂
@@ZenoSsj4Hero sadge now we have to go and delete comments from tons of videos to un-algorithm support vincey
@@sopadumacacoumadelicia5 lmao 🤣
I don’t understand the op in the NY story. She’s 18, if she wants to go to New York she can.
Hey, glad to see this sub.
I like it a little better than AITA because I know what to expect, even though the stories are usually more infuriating.
Anyways have a good one fellow viewers and Vincey.
Honestly not really cause some of us can definitely side with ops like in that last story about the Easter Egg Hunt
@@doll9340 I think they are the AH just not fitting for this sub.
ADHD ain't an excuse
@sopadumacacoumadelicia5 it's supposed to be an explanation yes but also she tried to correct her mistake is what I was going for
