- Slightly altered from the dvd. I wish they'd have just released this whole performance; and in sync, rather than just this solitary moment as a bonus, which actually feels like it's been considered as a worthless bit of mucky past...
Just such a great song, unique sound but you can hear the influences: Stooges, The Who … more? Glad they’re still rocking, too bad they don’t do this tune live coz now they have a huge fan club!!
Heady times in sweaty clubs! I'm somewhere dancing in that crowd!! Loved the Damned, loved the Roxy!!
Ditto- but at the back a out of the way of the craziness
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were big fans of The Damned. I believe they even attended this show at The Roxy
Also Marc Bolan was a fan!
Jimmy Page was, I believe at the Night of a thousand vampires at the Palladium in 2019
That is interesting and cool info.
John Bonham, zep- drummer was there as well, climbed on the stage to play the drums but he was too pissed and the crowd didn't appreciate him as much might have wanted :P
And why would Zep not like them? Heavy music pioneers...😀
Saw the Damned , The Doomed , then the Damned again !!
Never got to hear this song Live !
Thx for uploading !!!!😍😍
Silver Hofner!
One of the best songs ever.
who cares the pistols , who cares the clash ( i love them too ) lets face it the real deal , straight from the streets : the damned !! no more no less , nuff said !!
the damned didn't pose and preach like the clash and the pistols (i love those bands too but..), they just wanted to fucking rock and they sure did. brian james is a true punk guitar hero....
The damned and the stranglers were the best
The intro sounds like "Heart full of soul" by the Yardbirds. This song is amazing though.
THE DAMNED = FAVORITE BAND!
Same
Me too..
The Damneds body of of work over nearly 40 years speaks for itself.
Boss gig this. Right in the faces of the audience.I'd love to see the rest of it. I love the Damned they're not necassarily my favourite band of the era, that accolade goes to the Clash, but I fuckin love them they were the Punkest (if there's such a word) of them all
Yeah, punkest is now a word.
Founder of Roxy Susan Carrington at the frront from 0:04 pink top pale trousers, short hair. My neighbour next door but one back in Streatham Hill. I think her partner, Andrew Czezowski, is right behind her.
Born in 1969, i'm f. frogy and love the first album of the Damned !!!
Marvellous!!!

Was this recorded by don letts ? I wonder why this wasn't on the punk rock movie ... To me the damned were part of " the big three " of 77 British punk. Along with Sex Pistols and The Clash.
Pete...I was there 77..hard core....in Brum it was damn ed pistols clash stranglers...sham 69..buzzcocks..
..every body else was down the list....
.the CROWN in the city .was the place to go...
Jake riviera was notorious for demanding stupid amounts of cash for any film crew to film the damned hence no archive footage in the majority of punk documentaries look back at most of them and the damned are absent
Mr. Brian James 😎👌
The blond female in the front of the audience looks like she's stepped out of Vogue fashion magazine 1959.
The first and greatest punk band ever, here's the proof.
The Stooges were the first punk band.
be quiet you fool
@@blib3786 Then the Dolls.
Just being you and your fans in love
1935 to 1955. 1965 to 1985 .
Those were the years that influenced everybody
It’s cool

Nah!
@@rp61productions one year later........ you might be right.
Not!
Nope, nothing like Siouxsie.
@@Jah_Rastafari_ORIGKeep trying, that is not Siouxsie. Compare photos of Siouxsie in 1977 to this woman. One thing different face altogether. Secondly, different hair completely.
👍🥁
Crass got banned from the Roxy.
They wrote a song about it..
Why?
@@gavinreid5387 roxy said they wanted well behaved boys and asked if crass thought guitars and microphones were just fuckin toys. but they never liked playin there anyway
