Well, son of a gun! That was quite extraordinary! If you didn't record the making of the book/journal I would never have imagined it! Thank you for sharing!!
This kind of work is absolutely without a question D i v i n e. I've actually started to bind my own books last week. Progress is slow but I aim to be even nearly as good as this. Amazing work!
I literally jumped out of my feet when I got notified that you uploaded a new video! I binged watch all your videos before and I thought you are not active on RUclips anymore. I really wish you'd upload more especially the last one with the silver corners! But then again I know making these journal requires strenuous efforts so I understand why it took you a while to upload again. Congratulations to your father for the new silversmith workshop! I believe your next videos will become a lot more interesting with your fathers help! More power to you Stopan! Greetings from 🇵🇭!
Freaking love watching these videos. A mixture of this wonderful craftsmanship and a presentation that gives a nice ASMR feeling. Ever wondered to tag your videos for ASMR or maybe people have already told you that? XD "It's pretty much a nerve reaction that releases stress and makes your head feel good"
I'm glad you think my videos have such soothing qualities. To be honest, you're the first making such a recommendation but I have seen other people make similar remarks. I'll put it to mind. Best regards!
Amazing video as always, these books, the Whisperers Collection, are wonderful! I'm glade that you and your father will be able combine your gifts to create the masterpieces that you do. I'm so glade that you were able to upload a video, because they are truly a source of inspiration and beautiful!
I'm in awe every time I see your work! For the last year, I've been getting into binding and would love for anyone to reach out to me to teach me somethings!
Stunning! Truly beautiful work of art! I love watching your videos, you are super skilled and it is your art work. I’d give anything to know how to make this type of journal but I am without enough money to learn this skill...much less become a master like you. ❤️🤗😻 Annie in Tennessee USA
Very nice what mm of leather do you usually use I had made a mistake with using 4mm veg tan I had shaved spine down to 1mm but book keep on been crooked 🤔
Hi, Thanks for the gilding part. In before videos comments I read that you varnishing by shellac before laying leafs and for removing just rubbed with a little turpentine. But how you do it with the silver? do you varnishing all book cover or just a silver part with small brush? Or you used palladium? Thank you for answers. You are awesome. I am happy that there are still such a great craftsman as you are.
Hello and yes, the varnishing is done on the whole cover which makes it proper for the gold as well as the silver. It's not that good to use however. I made this collection and a few others with silver leaf but it just doesn't stick properly, or at least I can't do it properly. Gold is much easier to handle.
@@Stopan Thank you for answer. I thinking about it how fragile shellac is. Did you try oil gilding glue like mixtion? Cause i saw you riddle journals and it looks like mixtion but really fast dry. I am gilder so everything what i gilded is not flexible so i am worry about the lether. Plus in the school profesor told me, that she know only the hot gilding and just with gold. So sorry if i have a lot questions 😊 but you are the first one who i find gilding books with silver. Thank you if you will have mood and time for answering me again.
Such beautiful work of art Stopan, just love every book you make. Do you deliver in Canada? I would love to own one of your masterpiece. Do you teack online also? Please let me know as you are a fabulous booksmith, but above all, an artist. Thank you.
Wow, it's odd to hear such a thing. I've been doing it since 2013 but I became engaged in it full time about 2 years ago. I'm comfortable like this with some techniques but alas there are a lot more in which I'm quite inexperienced.
Stopan, 5 years? You are a quick learner. And a natural. And bookbinding is such a complex craft that there will probably always be something to feel inexperienced about! But this video showcases some of your areas of strength very attractively. Great video skills. I love the way you use candle soot to coat the tools when designing the pattern before transferring it to the leather. I’ve never seen that before. So simple and obvious once you’ve seen it.

Hello nice. Work ❤️❤️❤️How much distance do you have between the spine and the hard cover???
At 12:26 where did the ruby stone go? I didn't see it attached to the front of the book.

Love your work. Do you use a size to stick the gold leaf to the leather or does it stick with the heat of the stamp?
Thank you! For this particular set of books I used shellac size to attach the gold.
You have no idea how indescribably perfect I think it's your binding, it makes everything lose its meaning, congratulations you're myriad good.
where do you get those tools to press in the gold leaf?

You have such confidence and fluidity of movement it looks like you’ve been bookbinding for decades. Did you start very young?

Ha let’s see a machine mimic the fine skills of a human hands. It can’t and it never will.
i love the workmanship but i do hope the books do not stink from that pipe you are smoking!
A notable concern! Fortunately the exposure was quite sort and no damage was done to their smell :)
Въобще не подозирах за съществуването на такъв български канал. Успехи за напред.
