I'm only just starting 8th grade, but I plan to be in the Fighting Texas Aggie Band when I'm older. Ever since I was little I've lived and breathed stories my Aggie parents have told of their time at A&M, so much so that it all ready kinda of feels like my home when I visit Aggieland. Today my brother was just dropped off there to move in to his dorm. (He's gonna be in the Corp of Cadets😁) While collage is still a long way off for me, I sincerely aspire to be there in '23. See ya'll when I get there😁. Gig 'em aggies!
Tandi Ford Awesome! I’m currently 16 years old and I constantly dream about going there. Mostly inspired by my dad, one of the biggest Aggie fans ever, following me now 😊 Good luck, work hard and you’ll get it!
I'm certainly going to try. My oldest brother finished 8th in his class and my two other older siblings are doing just as well so, I have a reputation to uphold.
Hi im from korea and freshmen in korean private military school this year. I enjoyed your video. But watching your video, i got some question. How about the recognation about private mil. school compare to the national army,navy..etc academy? I like your video👍
I’d love to ask you some questions about being in the corps if you don’t mind. Or if someone could refer me to another person who can, that would be greatly appreciated
I wanted to do West Point but I figured all the senator’s sons there and the 18 credit course load would affect my education and growth as a leader so I’m trying for rudder rangers and marksmanship team while doing the national guard and anm as a political science/military major while in the summer getting my airborne/ environmental warfare classes done including ranger or sere
you are only required to wear your uniform to class, the MSC/Rudder, Trigon (for obvious reasons), Duncan and Sbisa, and formations. There are a few other times you have to wear your uniform, but these are the most common times. For living off-campus, you can, but it is highly discouraged. The reason being is that a lot of your experience with the Corps comes from your time in the dorms.
Hey idk if you’ll read this but I’m a junior in high school and I’ve been thinking a lot about joining the corps. I’ve looked at the website but some of the information wasn’t very clear. So can you please tell me the requirements to get in, and also some tips on how to get through the year (because it seems quite difficult)?
Braydin Sims To be in the Corps one just needs to be a student at Texas A&M, either full time or thru BlinnTeam. To remain in the Corps you need to maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. To get thru fish year I’d say just make good friends with your buddies and embrace the suck together. Understand it’s your position to learn how to follow so one day you may lead, and at the end of the day all the Corps is is just a big mental game.
Benneen Your Corps obligations are pretty much just in the morning & evening, and you always have to wear your uniform to class. Otherwise you are your own person.
Do you have time in the Corps to go out on weekends after you do your obligations for the week? I read the schedule and it says that on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays that time varies.
Interesting. Well I like to hear that. I was thinking of joining (If I get accepted to A&M) because I read it would help pay for school with the numerous scholarships available.
@@ajtheeagle is there an outfit for cadets who are prior enlisted? Currently in my third year of the Air Force and thinking about doing the SOAR program to come back in as an officer
I would say the men are mostly conservative. I would say maybe half of the women as well, but the general minority-grouped population is liberal. There's honestly a mix and there's no reason to turn down any Texas school because of any political affiliation. Especially if going into any ROTC scholarships, most of them are just focused on education, working out, and just having fun. You'll find political-talking people that you'll associate with!
Hello, Aaron Enjoyed your video. Could you tell me if the senior cadet uniform is provided by the school or is it on loan and must be returned upon graduation. I was told that the senior boots must be purchased by the student. Thank you. I am a subscriber and my son plans to attend Texas A & M when he graduates from high school.
Hey there! Uniforms are loaned. There is a uniform fee every semester or year, but I can’t recall how much. A few hundred dollars I believe. Boots are usually purchased but can be rented. If you need to rent there then are almost always options available at the Corps Center!
@@ajtheeagle Thank you for your prompt reply. I noticed that the Aggie audience stand while watching the football games. Isn't it hard on the senior cadets who have to stand throughout the game with their boots and swollen feet and calves? Are they allowed to sit at all??
@@pilmolee9773 Haha, yes, it’s exhausting. All students stand the entire game with the exception of halftime, commercial breaks and other game stoppages.
@Kish shiv funny you should say that as A&M has one of the best ROTC programs in the nation, and a history to back it up. Every source I've looked at had A&M in the top 5, and were ranked only behind a few other SMCs (Citadel, VMI, and maybe Norwich). Not to mention, t.u doesn't offer my engineering major, Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology - Mechatronics, of which A&M just got accredited for (WHOOP!). Side Note: Before you say anything about how I couldn't even get into t.u., I am an Out-of-Stater and didn't even apply to t.u.
SPLATS cadets can choose to commission in any branch. I was in AFROTC before I opted out and continued with the general leadership development program.
peadey mclovin Yeah lots of cadets have jobs both on and off campus. I recommend trying to find a job on campus, however. You shouldn’t have much trouble.
Albert Milo There are different styles of polishing boots- I wanted mine to have the darker toe box look, so I did dozens of layers of brown polish until they were nicely dark & shiny.
Aggies Rule that’s awesome, I wish I was determined from the start. Sadly I’m having to work super hard to meet the test requirements for the percentage I’m in my class. Good luck to you
I have only one question. if your supposed to be a Senior Upper Class Cadet Leader, why does your dorm room look like a pig pen! You have crap all over the place your rack is not even made. Then you look at the Cadets who are under your leadership and their rooms are squared away compared to yours. What kind of example are you trying to make?

I enjoyed almost all of the video. I could have done without the stunt of walking on the drill field. It shows you have no respect for the Col. Joe T. Haney Drill Field, the time and effort the BQs put into drills on that field, or the memory or numerous BQs who have had their ashes scattered on that field. I am a member of A Company Wolfpack, Class of 1994, and a BQ drummer.
Should be renamed to "A Day in the life of a Senior Cadet."
A day in the life of a senior cadet is VERY different than a day in the life of a freshmen cadet. Very.
how so?? i’m an incoming freshman 😁😁
So...one class, gym, two meals, snack time, and hang out with cadets x2. I miss college!
