I have only a few as I currently have most of my money in really unsafe, high risk dividend stocks that I spent too much on (won’t share which because it’s just not a safe move). And now I am nervously watching the market hoping the company will not go bust (as long as it keeps going all is ok). Will sell and do something sensible like any reputable ETF when the time comes.

I struggle on choosing my home base between Philippines and Thailand on my $2500 U.S.monthly retirement income with some savings for an emergency,as a single expat…With your experience is this a “comfortable” monthly income..I need a nice clean condo with western amenities..Thailand seems to have the nod on condos like the area of Pattaya you’re currently in based on my research.. I asked you a similar question a few wks ago and you suggested Laos I believe..Da Nang also looks like it may check the boxes I need ..UGH !!!

    • @nino714

$2500 should be a decent retirement in Thailand or Philippines from my understanding. Some expats live on less but I’m with you, I want to be comfortable and enjoy western amenities and food. Many vloggers say that $2500 is the minimum for a comfortable lifestyle there. Of course if you’re a drinker or wanna travel a lot then obviously the price goes up.
