So what are the sphere builders doing trying to form and Expanse akin to the Delphic from 2152, in the alternate Kelvin universe in 2260?
Agent Daniels decrees to investigate, and we meet up with a new "old friend" in the form of Admiral Garret.

"We should've an advantage here. Our vessel is from the 25th century..." As a STO Player that made me laugh :D
16:22 ; "That was a crazy off screen battle". You indeed put in quite the immersion effort for those who can manage to pick up these little tidbits. Nothing short of admirable.
You should check out the Yorktown bridge replicator before leaving. From that you can get a "Slusho Mix" which can be fed to any tribble to create a Kelvin Timeline Tribble granting +2% damage and +2% damage resistance for one hour after petting. Also petting the tribble creates a massive lens flare effect. Well worth grabbing.
all you need to say is lens flare to get people on board
Oh I had no idea that's how you get one.
I just bought mine from the exchange.
@@Zeithri You bought a tribble? Somewhere, Cyrano is screaming. He can't give his away. :)

Well we could manage a Council of Ric's? 😎
Competence? Starfleet? You mean the agency who, while exploring the galaxy, never prepared for the eventuality of armed conflict, and was thus not prepared for the Klingons, Romulans, Borg, Dominion... Starfleet failed the primary goal of any government agency, which is to care for it's people, over and over. So, competence? Very debatable.

They kept Vic's voice lines for Admiral Garrett? Yay!
There's no reason they would ditch them. He did the work, they paid him, I'm sure.
Would be a waste. Last role he had was a vulcan with captain killy. and am I having a doctor who vibe with the intro?
He just doesn't get hired for new stuff anymore. Plus i think most of the times they've retconned his voice it was literally DURING the allegations, mid-work there.
They actually did replace Vic's lines at some point which is a real shame as Vic was better.
Kinda wish we'd gotten a story about this event in the Kelvin universe, considering they would've already dealt with it during Enterprise.

I've been waiting for this episode. It's always great to see Admiral Garrett again. There should have been more Kelvin episodes.
Kind of bittersweet. You want to tell your mentor and friend that you're alive, he doesn't need specifics and he'll understand that you can't give any. You just want him to know that the burden of command he carries shouldn't include your death. He's right there, but the things you want to say won't mean anything to this version of him.

It's funny how a game can tell better stories, as well as keep the continuity of the timelines and events. Yet the new shows don't even come close. But thanks Rick for presenting it so well! You make it come alive.
Kinda a shame they didn’t do whole expansion pack about the Kelvin Alt universe. The setup would allow you to do a bunch of fun stuff. Khan as a running antagonist, the gorn as an actual threat; the borg showing up early.
Hell, I might be in the minority but I actually like the Aesthetic of the Kelvin verse. Especially Beyond take.
There IS a comic set just after Star Trek Beyond but before the Kelinverse Enterprise - A is completed where the Borg arrive early because they detected the Narada's Borg signature. That comic also shows a Kelvinverse Romulan warbird...which is just a D'deridex without the lower part of the hull......lazy
@@LordDarthHarry that’s like half of the romulan aesthetic after tos
That wasn't Khan, it was some lazy actor pretending to act like Khan poorly.
The JJ trek was trash then and now.
I am just glad JJ knew that his trek would never been accepted as canon trek and made it known that It was it's own timeline.
It helped avoid so many headaches.

I would love to fly a Vengeance type ship.
My Starfleet character which is a Discovery Era Vulcan named T'Mino commands one known as the U.S.S. Nebula and Rivals the Enterprise F when it comes to the flagship of the Federation.
I really just want to fly the Vengeance ok?
@@jacobridgeway2849 I'm sure it looks nice with starfleet-y hull materials.
9:28 Putting the viewscreen in a window kinda misses the point. The TOS writer's manual specifically states it's not supposed to be a window.
TNG kind of implies it's actually supposed to be a volumetric display. Sometimes, when someone was shown onscreen, their angle would shift depending on the camera angle, rather than being a flat image.
So instead of looking out a window, they've got advanced sensors compositing a virtually flawless 3d image in real time.
My head-cannon believes that it was the case for a while, but was soon phased out or used in legacy vessels as clear view screens have the benefit of contingency if the Volumetric view screen fails.
Yeah, but those advanced sensors fail all the time, and nowadays, even back at the Apollo missions, people are pushing for windows to be put on spacecrafts. 'Sides, could be both a window and a volumetric display
That weird beeping on the bridge of the Yorktown would drive me nuts.
Beep Beep... Beep Beep
It's in the Guardian airship in MegaMan ZX.
it's a mighty shame that they did not bother to have any captain kirks in any timeline....it would've been awesome to see Chris Pine back as Captain kirk in there.
They probably couldn't get him for the same reason Star Trek 4 died: They can't afford him.
It's more likely that Pine and the rest of the cast got feed up with what was going on around the franchise when comes to so called "Star Trek fandom" reactions since first movie came out...
That's why they walk off from any talks about fourth movie technically ending the Kelvin timeline once for all... even despite Paramount attempt to put extra moneys on desk...
And to be honest... maybe it is sort of fotrunate that Tarantino's Trek won't happen as well since looking On the "moral meltdown" followers of the ToS cult suffers after Picard "cursed"... just imagining Star Trek movie made by a guy who loves "very expressional" dialogs would very possible caused second "Big Bang" of raging hate within said "fandom"... 😈
@@asheer9114 Pine wanted a raise, and Chris Hemsworth (who played Kirk's dad) was also asking for more since he had name recognition from Thor. Beyond didn't do well in the box office, and Paramount needed to settle for a lower budget for Star Trek 4.
Pine & co's contracts were up and had to be renewed, Paramount couldn't afford to give'em a raise, so Pine & co walked out.
That along with Anton Yelchin getting pinned to death by his car pretty much put an end to any further stories set the Kelvin timeline.
As always, Capt Hale's comments make this series!
Bit of trivia, before you leave the Yorktown, you can use a replicator next to the turbolift to get slusho mix drinks, which I think can be used to breed a kelvin timeline tribble.
It's a great tribble that I use quite often. It even comes with its own lens flare when you pet it.
"What's my rank?" I don't think the game knows any more.
Anyway don't worry about Daniels. His face will be fine by the time next week rolls around and we'll be finding out what happened to Tasha Yar. No promises for what comes later though.

I honestly hope they do more with the Kelvin timeline in the future and since the rights to the movies has returned to CBS, it's not an impossibility either
I remember this mission being a little on the brief side, and was curious how you were planning to stretch it out to 20+ minutes. But I see you had no problem with that. I also picked up on how the dialog seems to imply that the NX-01 series was prime timeline stuff, when really it should be shared to both. It was released about the same time as Star Trek Beyond, so I'm guessing the studio didn't share the script, and the game devs just worked with what they had.
Star Trek beyond had many references to enterprise. The villain was a part of the xindi war
@@jimskywaker4345 Yes. He was. My point was, the game dialog seemed to forget that.
@@Peregrine57 or the Xindi attack in the Kelvin Timeline was done as a prelude to the main sphere builder attack as opposed to a part of it.
I don't know off the top of my head when the Kelvin mission for STO was released, but I do know that Star Trek Beyond(the third and best Kelvin film) had some small things that implied Enterprise happened as we know it, with changes only rippling forward from battle between Kelvin and Narada. Idris Elba's character, Krall/Balthazar M. Edison mentions fighting wars against the Xindi and Romulans where millions were lost. The design for his ship, the Freedom-Class USS Franklin, also seems to share some design language with ENT era ships as opposed to the modernized sweeping curves of the kelvin timeline.
Yeeeeeah a dominion/iconian alliance would be a bit of a problem let’s say
That's easy to say.

Yay, I was basically refreshing RUclips looking forward to this showing up!
The unique dialogue for a TOS captain is really cool, they really put so much thought into their storytlines.
I love how they turned a random character with like 1 line of dialog gets turned into the captain of the yorktown.

Daniels seems to be continuing his journey into becoming the Envoy, isn't he?
Considering how this arc ends, no he's not since he's not the envoy.
The V-shaped forehead scar is rather distinctive, but the voice and manner are completely different.
Daniels is not the envoy. Envoy is killing Daniels with his time alterations which will culminate in Daniels dying on Enterprise after he sends Archer and the NX 01 back to alternate earth during WW2.

Craziest offscreen battle never seen
Omg, Noye's wife was Tuterian changes to history unbeknownst to anyone almost destroyed them, now the want revenge on those who used time travel carelessly.
I failed to make the connection until now. Huh.
The Annorax's temporal shielding was damaged by the Borg. In a desperate effort, it performed a second incursion in an effort to restore the old timeline, but the resulting timeline led to the Borg overwhelming the Tuterians, leading them to do _something_ that made them into the Sphere Builders, no longer able to exist in normal space.
Then the Envoy pointed the finger at the "Voyagers" and the rest is history.

I don't think the D4X is what becomes the Bird of Prey, but rather the result of Praxis blowing up so early in the timeline the Klingons were forced to use a more industrialized look.
acording to the show runner of enterprise the envoy was going to be archer. in the future they where going to show it in season five if there was a season five.
I'm here for learning what's happening to Daniels
I loved doing this mission as a romulan
Yeah, this version of the Constitution class is three times bigger than the TOS version and yet it has the same number of decks and crew... almost as if it was created by someone with the mind of a toddler thinking that bigger is more-er better-er.
Or someone who wanted massive cavernous places to fall down... because reasons.
It allegedly had to be at least 25% different, to make it legally distinct. CBS' former CEO didn't want it cutting into TOS merch sales.
Supposedly this guideline's applied to all shows and movies made since 2009.
Has a lot more open space than the Prime version, probably contributed to the size increase.
Compare TOS' one large room engineering to the Kelvin tl's which is the size of a brewery.

Thats why the federation has DTI and Invented Temporal Prime Directive. But nooooo other powers in Star Trek Universe use time travel for their own agendas.
The majority of the remaining TLF's grievances are addressed in a future mission, but to summarize they're mostly pissed that the temporal accords prevent history from being meddled with...even though time traveler meddling was the cause of their species' problems in the first place.

Interesting, so basically the Kelvin timeline is not even related to the Enterprise period, its not really an alternate timeline so much as it is a completely different reality... I like that, the less relation with NuTrek the better.
Officially this is countermanded by Beyond as the conflict with the Xindi(or at least A conflict with the Xindi) is mentioned there. Plus a model NX class is seen in Into Darkness, so the ENT era is still more or less part of the Kelvin timeline.

this causes conflict because this mission has never said anything about kelvin timeline when ive played it and its not do to and old version of the game since i had just played it last night. this is the major problem ive seen in star trek online. you or a friend will have a mission that has info and you might have a completely different set of info that was given to you by the game. a few members of the fleet im with can play missions that are completely locked off for accounts made now. thought these issues were suppose to have been fixed its clear that it hasn't been. if this video was done this year in the game that makes it all the more clear missions have still not been fixed. still even if its confusion brought on by the game its self you still make good content from it
