This is the first film from where I fall in love with Evelyn and Joslyn duo. Their comic timings are too perfect and too synchronised like a real couple. I just adore them both. 😀😀
:)
I love love these classics it’s a nice cold winter day so it’s perfect day to look at my beautiful downloaded classics beautiful cast as well
I love this couple. I hope there are more movies of them playing together as husband and wife.
They only made two!
@@ClassicRobbEvelynKeyes too bad they worked well together.
Fast-paced fun. Thank you very much for posting this one!
You're welcome. We hope you are enjoying these Evelyn Keyes movies!
I love the great effort for detailed sound effects in this movie.
Almost like listening to the story on a radio show 📻 🤪 📻
Yup. Or, just a bad copy of the movie. We try our best.
Two of the greats with wonderful supporting cast members! Fun Movie I always love Keys and Joslyn with them it’s a guarantee fun movie to come!
Thank you for sharing this great movie!
You're welcome!
Hadn't seen this before. I know Evelyn Keyes mostly from her 50s film noirs with Phil Karlson, but didn't know Allyn Joslyn. Columbia was clearly setting them up as another Nick and Nora Charles and to good effect here. Enjoyed this picture and will look for more with these two.
Great Post -- check out Strange Affair!!!
WWII era stateside movie. Thanks, love Evelyn Keyes. Oh yea, Don Wilson the announcer on the Jack Benny show. This is a great movie I have watched many times, 😍
Great post!
And what's his name from "My Three Sons". Uncle ............
@@aspenrebel Let's figure this out.
@@ClassicRobbEvelynKeyes I saw someone else said "Uncle Charlie".
@@ClassicRobbEvelynKeyesilliam Demarest played Uncle Charlie. A movie you need to watch is HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO. STARRING Eddie Bracken, Ella Raines and William Demarest. One of the funniest movies made by Preston Sturgess 😂

Barry: "How long have you been running an elevator, skipper?"
Elevator conductor: "Well, now, let me see. I got out of the Spanish-American war in '99"
The first moment I heard him said '99, my mind thought that he was referring to the year 1999, which is quite some time ago. It took me a couple of more seconds to realize that; in fact, he was referring to the year 1899! 123 years ago in 2022!!! Man, this movie IS old! 😂😂😂
Great post!
Ha ha
One of the funniest parts of this film. I’m so reminded of every elderly relative! 😂
That was great. Thank you so much for sharing this.
You're very welcome!
thank you for uploading this!

Another great who dunnit ! Thank you 🌹

A crime fiction writer ( Allyn Joslyn ) and his wife ( Evelyn Keyes) investigate murders that are occurring at a fashion photography studio! There are so many clues in this comedy-mystery-but they all point to the killer! Mr Joslyn and Ms Keyes make a great team-they have good chemistry when they solve cases like this one-rivaling Powell and Loy-real fun movie 🍿! 😊😊😊😊👏🤣🤣😂😎
Great post!
Excellent. Thanks for posting
You are very welcome!
I immediately said, “Hey that’s Don Wilson from Jack Benny!” People are always shocked how I know who all these people are - because of my youngish age. 😂
Exactly!
Evelyn " Goldie " Keyes most famous in a supporting role as an O" Hara sister in GWTW . She was a 1940s Columbia leading lady .
Well, leading lady for Columbia is B for other studios.
I’m bummed when you use initials for something which seems noteworthy but for which I am unaware. Please spell out instead of using initials or add both!!
@@lavonnefitts5893 The commenter was referring to Gone With the Wind.
Gonna watch this soon! Thanks!
You're welcome!
That elevator operator and the bumbling detective had me laughing.
A fun movie!
Nice mystery. Thanks

Thank you, !!!

Great kicks movie hope to see more of these 2 crime fighters again, thanks RUclips
Great cast!
02:02 "Eight points.." LMAO 🤣 And the movie is just getting started 👍
Ha!
A great film very entertaining I enjoyed it very much
Wonderful!
Allyn was so funny as the wacky German officer in The Flier Takes a Wife. He was a good comedian.
A fun actor!
The fur coat swap/ grab am still in fits of laughter
Fantastic!
Odd name for this movie. Despite this, the movie was very entertaining. These two make a really great duo. Hope to see more movies with this pairing.
Great B movie!
" Listening to my wife? Why would anyone want to listen to my wife?"
Ha!
There is no revolver on the tray. 10:24 No wonder people get shot on movie sets when the actors can't tell a revolver from an auto-loader.
Good point.
Pretty darn good movie. Made to entertain the servicemen. Plenty of legs and gags. Keyes grows on you, ya know?
She does!
Don’t forget to wear your slicker… it looks like rain…
Good advice!
This one looks like it will be funny . Sunday night for me , watching vintage movies . She looks like she lives on her own and she’s stylish … only 2ish mins in ..
Evelyn Keyes is wonderful!
@@ClassicRobbEvelynKeyes : Thanks for a nice print of this cute escape from the war news -- even if it doesn't quite live up to its brilliant first 16 minutes!

PS. It's hats for the boys and gloves for the girls whenever they go out, isn't it. Another world.
Joslyn & Evelyn. A tandem that rivaled Powell & Loy.
Close, but you can't beat those two!
I love these old black and whites, but I never understood why they were always fully dressed even on the weekends. The women even wore heels 👠 throughout the day, and had their hair styled to the tee. And sometimes the husbands wore a full suit and tie! It doesn’t take away from the movie, but I’m just saying!
Hollywood!
That's the cool part😇
Because people actually dress that way in real life! I was born in 1950 and that’s how people dress they always look so nice.
Was the fellow stuck in the lift with the storytelling attendant also in the serial My Three Sons, uncle Charlie?
William Demarest
@@neenaserrao7130 You got it!!!
Yes, that was “Uncle Charlie” (William Demarest) who replaced “Uncle Bub” (William Frawley), in My Three Sons.
Also the choice of "Chahlie" the tuna with good taste!
@@neenaserrao7130I think Bill was also a regular in Tales of Wells Fargo.
Boy when the lights go out Lookout 😅😊😅😊😅😊
Ha!
good fun. Keyes rocks it.
Perfect description!
Script IS terrific
We really like this movie!
Worthy of Preston Sturges.
Good call!
LOVELY!
Yup!
Always such a total sceam....oh boy..🇬🇧
Glad you really enjoyed it!
Worth Watching
We sure think so!
2:24 announcer for Mr Benny !!!
Good catch!
great
We think so.
Something wrong with 'the flow of events & the story-line'.
But can't put my finger on it.
👀
B Hollywood magic!
Shouldn't the Pot Roast have been in "A Pot"? After all it is CALLED A "POT ROAST."
Ha!
It was in a roasting pan 😉
@@deborahmerritt4094 Ha!
That was a fun movie.
We agree!
@@ClassicRobbEvelynKeyes I had never seen nor heard of HER before. But I do recall seeing HIM a number of times. Didnt know his name though.
Ahhhh what! I left the potroast on the oven!!!!
Ha!
I'm surprised that Joslyn's career didn't take a downturn during the war because of his resemblance to Hitler, especially with that mustache. I wonder whether he thought of cutting it off.
Well, his career never made it to the A listers.
4:36 UNCLE CHARLIE !!!!!!!!!!!
Eagle eyes!
6:30 Sit down hon' try to UNLAX 🤔 🤔 🤪 🤪
Great catch! Unlax!
Great ciema technique - who needs color.
Exactly!
GOOD
Good!
Evelyn and Lana Turner could've played sisters in a film. Missed opportunity.
Sure.
I accept not being valuable because my hair is not long black and straight and I am not dangerous. They do not need me.

What did she mean when she said "8 or Eight Points.?"
Put the time in a comment!
My guess is she used 8 food ration points to buy what she was cooking

Evelyn Keyes could be hot. See her in 99 River Street. Silly movie. A Nick and Nora Charles rip off?
A B movie version of a Thin Man movie.
But way better than any of The Thin Man series.
@@richardjones186 That's a bold answer.

The Actor is using the same character name from the radio detective show confidential investigator
