- Chaos Vantage just released another update, and I think the improvements have been huge. Follow along with me to see what they are, and how they can be used in your workflow. In my opinion, Vantage continues to get better, and the improvements are exactly what users want/need. What do you think about Vantage?

What do you think of these recent updates for Vantage? Is it enough for you to integrate it into your workflow? What else do they need to integrate?
not yet and probably I'm going on stay on unreal :)
It wasn't until Vantage 2.0 that I jumped on board. I was experimenting with UE5 and TwinMotion, but, ultimately Vantage came in for the win! The ability to use V-Ray shaders and Proxies was what did it for me. Great content Adam, you have helped in these evaluations!
Great to hear. Thanks for the comment, and for watching.
Am going to try it. I am currently using D5 pro 2.5 and it already has most of the features that Vantage 2.1 has. The one thing that I am missing in D5 is true displacement and it sounds like Vantage doesn't have that either. Big selling point for me. D5 uses parallax displacement and I would guess Vantage does as well. The cost is not bad considering the new Chaos pricing (premium) includes Vray, Vantage and all the libraries and extras. The amount of library items in D5 by far still outshines the chaos library. I am excited about what I see but will probably wait to see if they implement displacement...
excelente amigo,...muy interesante y claro tu video
Yes, also a big Vantage fan because of the Vray workflow - all the work is already done in 3dsmax and Vray, so setting up Vantage is super quick!
Significant cost increase - same price as Vray - some unhappy clients.
Would love preset FX in Vantage like animated water/fog/fountains/foilage - instead of using complicated Phoenix/3rd party simulations?
Even moving cars and people? Anima and Axyz is already part of Chaos?
Offering these types of things for Premium users will really offset the cost and put competitive pressure on realtime programs that do offer these features like Lumion/Twinmotion/D5.
D5 is very impressive, fully raytraced and renders super quick.
All good points, thanks. I think the addition of preset FX would really be a game changer. This must be something they are working on, don't you think? Even if pre-animated objects could be dropped in from Cosmos, that would be amazing.
What i would love (and maybe that's possible), is a reverse live update from vantage to 3dsmax. Going in vantage, setting up cameras, lights etc, and they would change in real-time in 3ds max
That would be awesome. I wonder if they are working on something like a live link in both directions. Currently, you can grab updates from Vantage and apply in Max, but it is not in real time.
I am really waiting for them to integrate AXYZ people properly in vantage, so you can animate them in Vantage.
Yes, this has been mentioned by others too. That would be really slick.
Thanks a lot...
D5 render is good 👍😊😀😁🙂
Nice!
I would like to see one of your transitions rendered offline with "full" quality.
Me too :) I kind of wanted to get this video out quickly, but I will be experimenting and posting more
Great update..but I wish to see ambient occlusion render pass, blend material support, unlit mode viewport.. Ability to shift between top, front, perspective native views in Vantage itself..
Those are all good feature suggestions.
@@Learn-archViz i hope you would talk about it Adam and I'm sure the developers team can hear you more than any other YT channels.
They are definitely watching for these sorts of things. I've gone back and forth with them a bit on things. Chaos is great, IMO, at understanding and listening to the needs of the archviz industry and actually developing tools that meet those needs.
Hey there, being a freelancer with just few project i would like to add chaos vantage to my workflow to speed up render time and get more "fast project review" from the client and create, in the future, clips. Do you think it should be the best one to start using for this aim? Which rtx card do you suggest, based on budget/time, keeping in mind the available budget is pretty limitate? thanks!
NOT REALLY MUCH IMPROVEMENTS BUT THE FEW IMPROVEMENTS ARE GERMANE AND EXCELLENT !!! WELL APPRECIATED #THUMBS UP#
I would say the ability to stay in the DCC for setup and then just use vantage as a viewer/renderer would be good. It doesn't feel like a good production workflow at the moment. I'd love to start using this to speed out our traditional animation rendering workflow but jumping out of 3dsMax for camera and state animation feels risky.
Live link renders the max timeline keyframes through a Vray GPU distributed rendering port. You can animate in Max as well as render Alembic and point cache animations.
That’s great. Thanks for your reply.
I prefer D5 render.
What are u using? 30 series or 40 of nvidia?
waiting for sss
does anyone know how to freeze the camera in vantage, so when i move the viewport in 3dsmax it wont follow???
Hi, vantage supports mesh ligths from vray?
And second is - when they fix a procedural opacity?
Would you be able to show how you can turn light on / off / dimming without moving the sun? Thanks
You just set a different scene state for different light levels, then you can animate between them
any chance itll support corona renderer materials?
i can't find Chaos Vantage toolbar after i installed it in 3ds max 20 . can you help me in this problem plz?
DLSS is amazing!!
Well Unreal is no longer free moving forward so hows that going to factor in.
Yes! I just saw that news, and I'm really bummed about it. I suspect it will change things quite a bit. It might make Vantage more appealing, not less. What do you think?
I cant realy understand, that any proffesional will buy this, it is very expensive. Unreal and Blender EEVEE is doing a very good work.
Don't worry, I am working on this same scene in Unreal too, but Vantage is definitely a professional tool that makes a lot of sense in some professional workflows, especially those that are already using 3ds Max + V-Ray.
Probably because the Pipeline for unreal is very big and difficult when you have a 3 day deadline. and the final folder size is very very large.
@@philipkelly9521 That is certainly one of the issues. I've said it before, but I don't see Vantage and Unreal as exactly the same thing. Unreal has WAY more capabilities, BUT if you just want to animate a V-Ray scene really quickly and with fantastic quality, Vantage will be a better bet, most likely.
Does it cooperate also with Corona renderer?
I don't think it does. I have seen people online converting their Corona scenes to V-Ray to make it work. Also, I wonder how long it will take for Chaos to integrate it with Corona too in some way.
Your GPU? RTX 4090? Thanks
No, just an old RTX 2080 ti
adam why dont you upgrade the camera setup videos seems laggy and low quality, new youtubers are surpassing you
Lazy and cheap, I guess 😂 I really should, though.
You seem to have a lot of money, why dont you send him a good camera ?
No displacement yet? This is worthless
I knew this comment was coming :) I don't use displacement much, so it doesn't bug me too badly. You can displace the actual geometry using the 3ds Max displacement modifier, but the displacement at render time is still a work in progress according to Chaos. At the rate it is improving, I suspect it will be added fairly soon. It has to be one of the biggest requests.
@@Learn-archViz haha, I was just referring to you saying, someone one in the comment will say "No displacement yet? This is worthless" I think Realtime engines probably won't ever have a true displacement. None of them do right now. D5, Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion. They all have an exaggerated Bump that they call displacement.
@@armannasr3681 😂
I have wondered also if it is doable. They do say that it is on their "TO DO" list, so it gives me some hope.
