    FULL DESCRIPTION
    A long awaited feature has been added to this new Twinmotion release -- Lumen. In my opinion this makes Twinmotion a much more usable and awesome tool. The pricing is changing and that might upset some people, but I think this marks the beginning of Twinmotion being a serious contender in the realm of real time archviz graphics. Real time lighting with Lumen quality (almost as good as ray tracing) is simply awesome, and it works really well from my initial experiments. Check out the video to see all my results and learn the process.

    Thank you very much, I'm always very interested in your videos.
    Concerning the new price line, without material ID and working with Vray, I think that it will be a best choice for me to buy vantage instead of twinmotion which I used to love for fast renders.

    I hv used twinmotion before, moved to D5 last year because of its GI quality, however i hv noticed most of this "shortcut" realtime produce imperfect GI most noticable are in the color bleeding, after comparing all, we hv decided to chooce Vantage bcz it is the most accurate amongst all.
    With the addition of Lumen, i hope it can be on par with vantage

    Yes! I was just in the process of making an animation to sell to a client. Standard realtime looked like crap while pathtracer without flickering denoiser was not an option considering the render time..I really hope this lumen option will do!

    Now with Lumen, I might move back to TM.

      Interesting. I think Lumen is quite good, and the fact that you can connect to Unreal Engine has always been a big selling point for me as well.

      @@Learn-archViz If I want game graphics Ill use unreal, the selling point has always been its realtime rendering at a higher quality than a game engine. This just seems like a weird move to some of us.

    • @badimagerybyjohnromine
      @badimagerybyjohnromine 10 месяцев назад

      Chaos vantage might be something up your alley. The quality of lighting is damn near the same as Vray, it can use materials from Vray and the render times are very fast. Almost instant.

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  10 месяцев назад

      @badimagerybyjohnromine I think the selling point has been ease of use, the huge drag and drop library of objects and materials, etc. It is specifically aimed at architects and designers who don't know game engines, I think. I think if you do have a good handle on Unreal already, it makes less sense, but still has some use for me on certain projects.

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  10 месяцев назад

      @badimagerybyjohnromine Yep, I have used Vantage a lot and think it is great. I guess the issue is that not everyone already has Vray and the knowledge of how to use it, so they often fill out their models using real time libraries like D5 or TM.

    Good morning,
    Bravo for the video and thank you!
    If I may ask the question here, I have a lot of problems with the twinmotion path racer which bugs a lot I'm not even talking about the orthogonal views it's hell, mission impossible to produce an elevation or a mass plan....Yet I think I have an excellent machine: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz 64GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 7900XT 20 GB of memory
    Do you have any idea of the problem? Thank you (ok my project is very heavy)

    Good overview, thanks. I want to choose D5 or TM as both are free. But D5 has very small free library and don't have anything if offline. I wander: IS THERE A QUALITY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FREE TRIAL & FULL VERSION? I'm not going to make renders bigger than 2k in any case (I have V ray & Corona if would need). But I'm confused in "not for commercial use" - will it be bad quality that you will be ashamed to ask money for it (like for renders from Lumion below version 10). Thanks for answer if you will

      The community version of Twinmotion now has a watermark and no longer allows the software to be used for commercial purposes. In theory, it will be illegal to make money from the community version.

    When people compare standard realtime vs lumen realtime they never tweak the settings of standard and always show it like its very bad, but actually its not , its just ambient settings are too high that it make it look like no shadows, standard always need some tweaking to look good, its was also wrong before when people compare standard realtime vs raytracing without tweaking any shadow or GI or ambient settings to make things darker and more realistic. I wish we could see a comparsion that standard realtime is tweaked to its best upper limits to compare with lumen

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  10 месяцев назад +2

      You're probably right, but I will say that I have a hard time ever getting good results with standard, and I have messed with it a lot. On the contrary, Lumen looks right without any adjustment at all, which right away gives it an advantage, don't you think?
      Have you gotten some nice results with standard?

      Well, it definitely worked, but my materials weren't showing in Unreal. I think that is mistake I made, though, and not a compatibility issue. Maybe it is an early bug. Like I said, the release notes said nothing about limiting the community version in this way, and the export/import process worked as normal.

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  10 месяцев назад

      The preview community edition is the one. It appears as if they are following a similar model as UE5 , where you can download a preview version before the full version is released. In this case, they are using the community edition as the "free trial" and as a preview of upcoming full features.

      @Learn-archViz Heyya! I've tried to see if I can find an answer and I can't. The company and myself have just bought the commercial version for 2023 so we are new to this. The press releases state that the 2023.2 is released however like the commenter Michael Roberts above, we can still only see the community edition. Is there some delay in they way they usually roll versions out? There are no dates anywhere

    Still for more creative artists who like freedom UE5 is a better choice as it offers more tools in tweaking materials, modeling - if you need to change something on a fly and much more tools but downside of this is a learning curve. I mean those who is already working with UE5 there is no sense to use Twinmotion

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think you're mostly correct there. I can see using Twinmotion for really quick and simple things, but Unreal will always offer much more creative freedom and power. The library of objects is sure nice in Twinmotion for stuff like archviz.

      As an amateur to unreal engine, I find twinmotion to be a simpler way to start learning how to design scenes, without a lot of the complexity of UE5, but still able to understand how various 3D related processes work.
