This is the main reason why I never look twice or get excited for games with no release date. Things like this will happen, because they haven’t promised a release date, they can move it around willy-nilly. However when you have a release date, they are dedicated to getting the game to you there and then.
Business is complicated but I think Don’t Nod’s decision to move the game back is a good one. Coming from the perspective of someone who is going into self-employment, whatever happens in my industry, whether it’s by me or another company, affects the industry itself. Don’t Nod and Deck Nine are working in the same industry so what one does will affect every other choice based game. So by Don’t Nod giving us fans some breathing space is good not only so we can take in Life is Strange and not be overwhelmed, but also for people that struggle to afford the games as it gives them time to save up.
Also I don’t think Desk Nine is bullying Don’t Nod, it was Don’t Nod’s decision to delay lost records, they didn’t have to do it. Each to their own I guess. I do feel bad for the people that were excited for lost records coming this year but at least it’s still on the way.

Definitely the right call! I have high hopes for the LR franchise and the worst thing would be for it to not hit the ground running because LiS is knocking about. To be fair to D9, it's actually refreshing to see a developer flat out say a release date and not keep fans waiting. ~ Jack

    Hello!
Honestly, I think the thumbnail is more likely to come true in the universe where the two games release right next to each other XD Not every player has the money to buy both games, so spreading them out a bit is the smarter move, imo :)
As someone who is also more excited for Lost Records than Double Exposure, I’m glad that it won’t be overshadowed by DE’s release. As much as I would’ve liked to play it this year, I’m very glad that Don’t Nod took the safer option.
I do want to point out that we don’t know if the decisions around Double Exposure are made by Deck Nine or by Square Enix. It’s not great to steal the spotlight, but maybe Deck Nine isn’t actually responsible for it?
Now that you mention it, I can easily imagine something similar happening to the Until Dawn remake and The Casting of Frank Stone. We even have a similar premise, with an established game that is developed by another company and a new game that is developed by the original one. So I wouldn’t be too surprised if one of these games would get pushed back …
But at least that would make 2025 even better ;)

Very possible! Sometimes the publishers do have the call on these things so it might not be D9 at all. And 2025 is looking very good already i gotta say! ~ Jack

I honestly don't have an issue with it between now and December there's a crap ton of other games that are coming out it's a smart business move for don'tnod

Snap! Not many games tend to release early in the year so you never know it could do better as a result! ~ Jack

I am bummed about this but I do have about 7 other games I’m looking forward that’s coming out later this year so that’ll keep me busy until then.
But to be honest I am more excited for lost records than double exposure for sure and would’ve preferred double exposure to be the one to be delayed but hey ho.

Same Max! I'd rather the games I play be spaced out than congested and then have nothing new to play for ages. ~ Jack

Yea I'm okay with it getting pushed back since I can't play it cuz I got a ps4 and my ps4 would explode if they put it on ps4 so I'll just watch yall play all these🗣🔥

Are you sure you are not Victoria? I think I was pure luck (or coincidence) that they both were coming out so close. Always have to be stirring the pot.

Nah more like Nathan 😜 for real though, yeah it probably is a coincidence. Maybe the sudden announcement of Double Exposure is what has taken some aback. But still it's nice to see DontNod acknowledge a former franchise of theirs while also taking care on how well LR does. As for the "stirring the pot" remark, we're just having a little bit of fun. We don't actually intend to cause conflict so no dramas. ~ Jack

@ButterflyEffectPodcast Yeah, sorry about the stiring the pot remark. People in this community have been so vindictive lately because the devs are not giving them exactly what they want.
