DiResta's Cut: Beehive House

- In this episode of DiResta’s Cut, Jimmy goes out into the field--literally. While we’re used to seeing him operate in either his NYC or upstate shops, here he’s got to build a house to hold beehives for a local farmer, pre-fab style, and his yard out in the country is the only viable staging area.
Jimmy gets an assist from both his assistant Willy and shopmate David Waelder, who brings along a drone to offer some unusual camera angles. Everything from timber-framing techniques to modular construction is on show here. Watch as the team build the structure, break it down, transport it and reassemble it on-site. - Хобби
Another awesome Video. Thanks for doing what you do.
very interesting build, great stuff!
Great build, many good ideas. Thank you.
Fantastic video. So fun to see it told in so many different ways. And I'm glad this became a Diresta's Cut video so we could hear about your process. Always inspiring.
these full builds are so much fun to watch!
Researchers have found that bees recognize patterns easier than colors. If you want to control drifting, put a geometric pattern on each front panel in addition to the color.
Great build... I have never seen a bee house before... Nice work on the modular build and reassembly... Thanks for sharing!
The weather looks freaking beautiful ❤! Great video!!!
Nicely done sir. Thank you for doin what you do! All yinz guys!
Did see all the separate videos on David and your channel but this narrative version always clears up a lot. Thanks Jimmy, David and Willy!
I would've loved to just watch this. Would've been such a learning experience. Thanks for the video Jimmy.
Awesome!! Love this! Looks like a crap ton of work! Props to you three for knocking it out!
Thanks, this was a great build. I liked the pockets for the floor system.
This is an awesome bee house. Well done.
This is very nice. I would not have thought about building a bee hive house!
Beautiful job guys!
Looks super, nice job all around!
I've been a Chippy since the 80s & I love vids like yours because once in a while watching you I pick up a great tip. It's real important to pass on skills.
Cutting the mesh with a grinder is such a time saver, I'm glad I saw this video! I built a rabbit fence around my garden last weekend and it saved me a lot of time.
Happy to see more footage on top of David's videos.
Great build mate well done!!
you do very nice work, sir. i love watching your videos. thank you for sharing
Jimmy DiResta, This is my favorite video of yours now! It's beautiful work, video and build. High five!!
Really cool build. I love the narration.
Looks so nice Jimmy!!! You guys really did an amazing job! Ty for sharing bud! -Brian
Crazy awesome Jimmy! Well done sir.
Hey Jimmy ! Just wanted to say, your property (i mean your house and backyard) looks very amazing ! Exactly the kind i'm dreaming for.. Keep up the good work.
You are a BEAST DiResta!
Turned out really awesome!
Your execution is always great to watch. Bravo
Bee houses are used in Austria but there each hive is in an isolated compartment to suppress Foul Brood from spreading from hive to hive. In this house this virulent disease would spread like wildfire.
Jimmy, bro, yes I enjoyed it. Much respect!
I found this very interesting knowing about apiculture and i also learned a few things about building. Thanks 👍🏽
Very nice work, guys!
Diresta, você é o melhor, parabéns!!! Brasil
Lucky bees, they get to live in style. Nice work!
the final shot and third last shot looked gorgeous!! bit of wealder style wearing off on you!
love your work and would love to see a follow up in the future to see how well it works
Buddy that was awesome man good job fantastic

What a work of art!
That was bloody awesome mate!!What a great idea.(Gympie,Qld,Australia)
Great work guys!
Man there's nothin you cant create! Awesome!
Having done a bit of beekeeping I'm really curious how this system turns out! Can't wait for the vidoes on your summer harvest next year! Great build and love the colors :)
Working outdoors is the best...until the weather gets bad
Hey Jimmy, it would be cool to go back and see it when its full of bees and honey in the future!
Love that rough-cut lumber.
I have been thinking of doing this, great video!
Very nice!! Thx for sharing
Very cool id love to have my own bee house. I think I will. Thanks JD
Impressive yes I did. Is sad that on here using wood is bad since is very humid and I now there are products so the wood is safe. Thanks so much for the video, bees now have a home and a safe one
fantastic job , love it.
nice work,you guys are efficient
Nice and simple, great!
That was wonderful!
BeeYoutiful!
I loved this project, I felt like I was there helping out. I wish!
nice! i built a shed on my property a few years ago and borrowed my neighbor's paslode. what a great tool. nice job jimmy!
tim sway We also built a shed. It turned to shit after 1 rainfall because we didn't know a damn thing about building a structure LOL. Could have used Jimmy back then.
thats amazing we need to look after the bee`s.
Ive been watching your videos for a while, but I got a chance to watch dirty money this last week. Anyway. I think it is awesome that you have willy working with you, in your upstate location.
I have that same Milwaukee saw. Bought it new sometime before 1994. Still love it!
+Alex Pettigrew I bought the same saw with my first house in 1997. I still use it and still love it also.
Cool stuff. I wish we had a nice lumber yard like that around here. Only big box stores....
Looks like a fun project.
I wanted to see the bees. Great work and great vid!
Great work and looks great too. I would turn that z around if it has any structure to is at all. I like those colors too.
good work fellas
be safe :) Nice one Jimmy and David
WHAT AN INTERESTING VIDEO. Well done my man. I just saw a video last night on "The Vanishing Bees" It is so good to see someone helping the Honey Bee on an organic level NOT Commercially. As for your work, I understand the pressures of Low Budget and Time constraints. Looks like you had a very good crew helping you. JOB WELL DONE and great video work too..
Would love to see a follow up on your bee hive. What worked well and what you would change. Looks really cool
Jimmy, Fantastic build and video. You and David are such Pros. Love the voice over vids as much or even more than the regular vids. was Willie the camera man on some shots, some great footage. Thank you brother
Amazing! Love seeing how much effort and care you and David put into your work. Also really liked the commentary - can't believe how much honey will be in that shed
you sure were bizzzzzzzzy on this build 😜
Awesome shed it looks great . You might find that the iron will rust quickly on the ends that where cut by the grinder unless you painted them after they where cut. It is only a shed and will still last a long time.
impresionante como siempre,un saludo desde españa
we want to see the bees!.. great work btw!:))
Very nice!
This is my dream to build something like this when I get my own propperty. Been wanting bees for years.
Really cool!
Good job!
nice job !
Excellent...!
Cheers...
You are amazing!!!
So much fun, thank you
good job man
Would love to see this when it's in action with the bees!
yes! 🐝
same here, I've never seen a hive that was enclosed like that. I want to see how the bees and humans react to one another in that enclosed space with one another.
That's what I was thinking....like a different version of Jerry Mcguire..."show me the beeeeeeeeees!!!"
Here is the farm and the bee house

Winner of a video, been searching for "beehive decoration ideas" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Tiyia Beehive Basophilic - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my colleague got excellent success with it.
Hola Jimmy, ver tus videos son muy inspiradores para mi,para intentar hacer algunas cosas tal ves no tan buenas como las que haces vos.....pero intentarlo.Gracias.Saludos desde Argentina!.-
Loved it
It would BEE great if we could see a 2nd year update on the BEEHIVE HOUSE. Thanks
Very cool truck
Super nice build! Being a beekeeper myself, I'm jealous of any full bee 'house' in the states. Very common in eastern Europe and Russia - not so much state-side. 18 colonies is a lot of work, but your clients have a lot of flowering material for sure.
The Z on the door - my first thought when I saw it against that wall was "add a BUZ or a BEE in front of it" for even more fun! :-)
Definitely kewl! Ty!
beautiful! lucky bees.
This is awsome.
Beautiful! :0)
wonderful!
You're a genius.
The 86-88 c inhevy k-series what an amazing truck that turned out to be. Nothing special about them for some reason they run forever. So many still going strong.
very cool
I'd like one of those, half my art studio and 1/2 bee's in the backyard. :D
Hey Jimmy, can you show this beehouse in action for us?
Well nice love it
Awesome....!!
