Fun fact: The reason why Soraya magically survived the fall was because she was a fan favorite of Mexico! So when she died the rating decreased and they decided to bring her back lmaooo
María lost her marbles specifically because her husband had a jealous rage when he found her simply talking to his brother and for some unknown reason thought they were having an affair and broke up with her and that’s when she got to wandering the street with her baby and gave it away. Please note I am not proud of this knowledge.
Isnt soraya the woman from the "cries in spanish" meme?
You forgot to mention her hubby adopted a child to make her forget of the one she abandoned, and that the crippled girl literally says she was healed by everyone's love.
You forgot to include that the witchcraft nanny is actually Soraya’s real mother! LOL.
In real life, the Mexican actress, Thalia, got invited to a party at Emilio and Gloria Estefan's house in Miami, where she met Mariah Carey's ex-husband, Tommy de Mottola and they fell in love! They had a huge wedding at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. Soon after the wedding, her sisters were kidnapped in Mexico City and the family had to pay a million dollars in ransom money.
You CANNOT comprehend how popular this was in Greece. My grandma was a crazy-cat lady. She had something like 20 cats and thei names were: Maria, Fernando, Soraya, Nandito, Tita etc....
You didn't mention the part where Soraya seduces Maria's 14 year old son and they have a sordid love affair. Yes, telenovelas are hell.
When Soraya beats the girl she yells "Maldita Lisiada" (you damn cripple)... that is classic 90s!
When Thalia visited the Philippines, we greeted her like she was a damned head of state.
Only Game of Thrones could top the level of incest that Maria La Del Barrio inflicted upon TV viewers, but GOT was several decades late in the game. LOL
"QUEEEEEEE HACES BESANDO A LA LISIADAAAAAAA?!?!?!"
PLEASE PLEASE
Soraya's knocking down the 'lisiada' on minute
You dind't mention the epic scene in which Soraya served the paralyzed girl with a delicious dinner: TARANTULAS! And then locks the poor thing up in the room while laughing wickedly.
You know you mexican when you have at least one aunt practicing black magic.
Maria la del Barrio is a masterpiece.
I genuinely love the story of this telenovela. Set aside the over the top acting, soundtrack, camera techniques and overall lack of character depth and development, the revenge plot is gold. Soraya was a really crazy smart psycopath.
No comment on when Maria son got feelings for his adopted sister for some time? 😂 (guess it runs in the family)
