Remember, when it comes to corporate culture, you are not "family" you are a number. You are a number/money generating cog in the wheel. When you've started to wear down, maybe rust up a little, don't be surprised if the "family" doesn't have your back, and a replacement part is on its way...

Been working for the same company for 9 years now and I’ve declined management 4 times because I’m afraid that I’ll either become the type of guy you’re portraying in this vid OR that I’ll refuse to become that guy and will be let go within a year or less.
My wife and current manager tell me that I’m holding myself back and selling myself short but I’m thinking that at this point, I should find another way to make a better living.
