“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” ~John 15:18-19
From a 69-year-old, you should constantly be reevaluating your life. It always grows you into deeper understanding and spiritual growth. I hold on to the tenets of my faith very tightly. Everything else. I hold lightly knowing I just might be wrong and find that they need to go. Keep up the good work and never lose your sweet heart.
I have been convicted of every single one of these this year! It’s so refreshing to hear someone else also wanting to let go of these “normalized” things that even my other Christian friends don’t think are a big deal, but they really are. At the end of the day if it’s not bringing you closer to God and more like Jesus then we don’t need it! 💓
Absolutely! You are so right! Thank you. 🤍My skirt is actually from Amazon and it is linked in my amazon link in the description box. :) Thank you for being here🙏
I love how you feel deeply in these convictions. that they really move you. I cannot get into horror movies or movies with gore ever. They really hurt my heart and head. People don't understand. I don't watch movies with sexual content either or nudity or anything like that. Very cool about where you decided to go with your bathing suit! I have always been really modest with bathing suits. I think it is because I grew up around people who were addicted to pornography including my father. I saw how he would gape at women and I didn't want that to happen to me with married men especially. I have a very weird modesty journey, but I think part of why is because. I ran my own modesty ministry for a few years and saw how legalistic it became, so I closed it down. Loved learning about the rest of the things too between diet and more. That was really interesting about what you said about dresses. I wonder if that has something to do with your upbringing too? So unique how it is still hard to let go of things at times for you! At least it is still something you have to process and work on rather than not really having any care at all. Keep up the great work of questioning things and working on what you are pondering.
Completely agree. The nudity and things in our entertainment is unnecessary and disgusting. My husband and I will look up the parents guide before we watch a movie to make sure it is clean. Highly recommend that for anyone not wanting to view that sort of content.
Hi, I agree with all of these and have also adapted most of them! I was never big into yoga, but I also don't practice it for the same reasons. I'm a minimalist as well, and have let go of so much, and stopped shopping for things I don't need. I also love that I recently stopped listening to secular music, my 6 gear old singing my not so great songs.. and then singing Hallelujah.. after church one day, really opened my eyes to what I was listening to. I also heard Ann Wilson's song, songs about whiskey, I love her music now! ❤ I'm also doing diastasis recti exersizes, at home, youtube videos, just to heal my body too! So glad I found your channel, this was so inspiring!
As a Christian, i loved all of this and wholeheartedly agree with you. Especially on the yoga and horror movies (for me any movies with spiritism, excessive swearing and immorality etc as well) Can i ask considering you quit Yoga beacuse of its origins, how do you feel about things like Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, Halloween etc? All these things have origins steeped in false religious beliefs and practices and teachings in conflict with the Bible. It certainly makes us stop and think why we do certain things and where these practices, celebrations etc have actually come from :)
I am honestly reading up on all of this and looking into all of this lately. I really want to talk to our Priest about this actually. We have never really been into Halloween. My kids don't like dressing up so it isn't a thing here. And Halloween actually is seen as the day before All Saints Day and we observe All Saints Day of course. When it comes to Christmas and Easter, we have celebrated these days for Jesus. Christmas we focus on remembering Jesus being born and for Easter we focus on His resurrection after He died for us. We do not give into the materialistic side of Christmas. I really think Christmas and Easter have turned into something completely opposite of what the original Christian holiday was supposed to be about...the world has twisted these days into something that distracts us from what we were supposed to remember with the obsession of accumulating things and making Santa the top priority in our kids lives and Easter being focused on bunnies and easter eggs instead of Jesus. I don't think that observing the birth of our Savior and the resurrection of our Savior is a bad thing.
@@lightandmind77such a great answer!! I have looked into these as well, especially Halloween, and we don't celebrate darkness or evil, the origins are very much Catholic, All hallows eve, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day. ❤
It shouldn’t be controversial to cover up. Your husband is the only eyes that should see you in that way. He is right under God and I think so many families fall apart because women don’t submit to their husbands.
I probably saw some of these in the past, but do not know much about them. I would go by how you feel when you are watching it. If you are questioning it, that could be The Holy Spirit speaking to you. I know when I would watch these horror movies or things that were very opposite of light and God, I felt this sense of discomfort in the back of my mind. My body felt tense when I would watch it and I think subconsciously I knew that this was not what God would want me to be viewing. I think anything that is horrifying, scary, bloody, and violent probably is not the best source of entertainment. I do know that some of these types of shows can kind of suck us into viewing it and enjoying it and I don't think this is right. But again, I feel out of place answering this and giving my advice because I have not really watched them. But, these are my thoughts.🤍
I use to wear bikinis too. It wasn’t until I got stronger in the Catholic faith that I stopped altogether. Have you ever heard of the Mary-like modesty standards? It came from Fr.Bernard and he based it off standards from Pius Xl. It’s really wonderful and has been a guide for generations to traditional Catholic women. It’s the only modesty guidelines I’ll follow that I’m comfortable with. ❤️ I only swim privately with family and I will wear a swim shirt and a swim skirt that goes pst my knees. It’s really easy to swim in. :)
I have not, but I am reading into now. It is amazing how God changes our hearts. When it comes down to it, Mary should be the role model for this. Thank you, Shannon! 🤍
Pray and ask God for discernment: Halloween is also something that Christians should NOT take any part in. It is not something that you mentioned in this video, but I notice that oversees (I am from South Africa) it is a major thing. Respect for you standing on God's principles and guidance❤

Love Matt Maher songs! Great video. Even though we are empty nesters I will definitely go through my life to make sure things align with God.

This was one of my favorite videos that you've done. A lot of these I follow as well, but you've also given me some things to think about.

Also where is your skirt from?? I’ve pretty much stopped wearing pants and I’ve been looking for one exactly like yours. It’s so cute on you! 🥰

Submit to your husband? That sounds demeaning. How did I get here?😅
