Wow ❤ I have never felt more validated and heard than I do right now. As a new Christian I have been so lost in my habits of shopping and keeping busy that I am struggling to put my faith into god. I have been focusing on the things I am doing and buying all of the time that I loose the time I could be spending to deepen my connection to my faith. Thank you for this - it has truly inspired me to wake up from my auto pilot headspace.

I try to not follow the news. And concentrate myself on Jesus only. Much love from Japan. ❤❤❤

Hello Katie! I love this format when you put your voice over the video. I think a lot of times on YT people are more inspired a little bit when they have something visual, not just when you sit down and talk, or at least for me it is. I would love a video of your dress. I would like to wear dresses more often, but I have a hard time in the winter when it's cold.

There's simply never enough :) but it's non sustainable

I love this video! I am constantly struggling with food and if it is healthy/clean enough for my family to the point where it has become an obsession. I find myself thinking about this so much in fear that if I let my guard down with it my family will get sick or get cancer or another illness brought on by it. I am really struggling to let this go and to be able to turn to God more because I believe it is turning into an unhealthy obsession as I fear I think of this more then I do God which is just awful. Do you have any advice?

I am the same way about making sure I read into things we watch or what my kids play. I go to the site kids in mind to see the content in movies and we don't watch very many films at all. I like how you described everything in your video. I like that you like to figure out to deprive yourself of something to see if you really need it. It is so nice to support Etsy artists. I sell quilts on there and have been on the site since 2008 or something, so that is awesome! I like that you want to listen to your children's interests and figure out what they need to have an actual childhood they can enjoy. Very beautiful message. Thank you.

Having an iPhone 8plus that I’ve had for 3+ years and will for many more hopefully! I wholly agree with you on the iPads. Our children have never had one nor heard of one. My husband and I were having a conversation not too long ago and we said the word “iPad” in passing, to which my 7 year old asks “is that a pad you still on?” 😅 I also agree on raising our children with the same beliefs we have. How could we believe something to be truth but not instill that same truth in our babies? Thanks for the video. ❤

Hi Katie. I love the things you mentioned. Waiting out that 'want', slow living, date night. In the intentionality part of it, esp when it comes to education, I find that it's not so easy to find a curriculum or homeschooling system that has all those values in mind. esp minimalism and slow living/not rushing things. Do you homeschool? If yes, what works for you?

I just wanted to add here what I heard from a priest. Is that, if we start to fight the enemy, we have already lost. That is what he wants, our attention to shift from Christ to him. What we need to do, is to ignore him and be with Christ, in silence, in prayer, in communion...

Can I ask how you deal with books? I have a great collection of good Catholic books! There so hard to part with but they are books I more then likely won't read in this season of life or that I've already read and won't reread. I also don't know how many books to keep for my children. I rarely will see them take a book off the bookshelf but I feel just awful getting rid of them all!

I can understand what you mean. The people that I watch are honest and humble as you are, but if there are people out there who are all show and are not saying when they go through hardships, etc. . .that is a problem, for sure. You have a wonderful heart. I definitely get frustrated with my kids. This week, my oldest son got all upset because his car was not starting (his battery died and has since been replaced). It had snowed, he just shoveled and cleaned off his car. I had to drive him to work which I was calm and fine with, but his attitude about being disappointed that things were not going his way is what bothered me. I told him to calm down and to make sure that he understands that things don't always go the way he hopes they do and that we have to do the best we can with what we can do. He was not reacting well, but thankfully, he came home from work apologizing to me with humility. It was lovely. These are things we as moms WON'T film or put on here, though we can talk about them to make them learning lessons in our week. I definitely wouldn't do that to my kid by showing him all upset and such, so I think that is why you don't see things like that in videos. You see the good things because people want to show those good things. If they make it seem like those not-so-great moments do NOT take place, I don't think anyone would believe them, honestly. But yeah, life is not perfect at all. I have seen some of my friends posting happy and lovely photos with their husbands and then suddenly they tell me the problems they have and next thing you know, they are divorced and pretending to look happy on social media when I know they are breaking down and a mess inside. it is sad. I do know a lot of down to earth real people though too. I love the raw and honest. Anyway, thank YOU for being who you are. I saw War Room when it came out when I was a youth leader (wow that was like 12-13 years ago now probably??) and it was lovely. Been a while. And. . um. . .I mean, my home is always clean by the way. Truly.

I think also people comment things that they wouldnt normally say irl..and evil is very concentrated on social media. Of course there is evil all around us, but It makes you think there isnt any good if that makes sense, or that people dont care about God..some people dont, but I get the feeling online that people arent interested in hearing or knowing about God at least where I live but I think there are people who are more open to it..a friend I met in a very left leaning school told me that she is open to hearing about Christianity

Im so greatfull for my 21 years old car, I hope and pray that it will work few more years. I had 5 children and no car, no dishwasher, no rumba, no dryer... We live in Europe. The differens owning a car made in my life is huge. Just shopping for a large family, its so much easier. Going places... Takeing my family to the lake to swim in the summer, what can be better than that?

When i realized that i was living in iniquity even though i was trying to do gods will, i started acknowledging my iniquity because the bible says he is faith and just to forgive is our sins if we confess them. Its allowed me to relish in gods grace and extend the same grace to my children. We should all ( kids and parents) be able to comfortably, in a calm way, acknowledge where we go wrong. Saying " i shouldnt have done that or said that" and not make excuses for ourselves like "well tou werent listening to Mommy so thats why i yelled" My oldest daughter and i bave really struggled with behavioral issues since she was 3 and shes 9 now. Its a real struggle but where i have found great change is when i started acknowledging where I went wrong without an excuses she started to reciprocate that same behavior and in turn it's changed her heart as well as mine

Hi Katie - I am not usually one to engage on RUclips and honestly at times it can feel like a double edge sword for me, but your video is a true testament to how God can speak to us through whom He chooses and how He chooses. Thank you for this powerful Word God placed on your heart - for your vulnerability and obedience in sharing such a sensitive and emotional topic. I have a 10-year-old and soon to be 13-year-old and you voiced everything I have been feeling, and I know I will feel over the course of my lifetime as a mom. I am sure I still stress my parents out at time lol. But I needed to be reminded of the battle that is happening, to use my most powerful weapon which is prayer and to trust that the battle is already won in Christ Jesus!
