Although he was right in exposing these frauds, him beating them like that made me cringe. There was no reason for him to do that to prove his point, but he did it regardless. Either he cant controll himself in a fight, or it was personal to him making him go over the top with the beating. Loose - loose situation in my book.
I really don't understand why would they eventually agree to be in a real fight and embarrass themselves like that. As the saying goes "It's better to remain silent and be thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt"
Here's the thing: for background, me and my family are all Chinese. I learned the language from a very young age, as well as the traditions. Never once, when I used to bring up kung fu and tai chi, was tai chi ever described as a fighting style. My grandparents have always told me that it was more of a way of meditation. A way to calm yourself and clear your head. Seeing these bozos act like it's some kind of mystical fighting style using chakra or whatever really confuses me
This is my understanding as well, it's an ancient meditation method, I have no clue when the leap to combat happened. It's like using yoga stances to fight 🤣
Please don’t perpetuate this misinformation. This tai chi as moving meditation thing only began about 100 years ago. The problem is that most people are practicing this health/meditation oriented version nowadays but think that they are learning the martial art just because some of the martial theory is taught.
That soft ground will get you every time! We had a local guy in my area who claimed to be a karate master, claimed he had the ,"death touch." He taught classes. He started having an affair with a guy's wife and that hillbilly kicked his a$$. Death touch was not of much help to him!

Ego is a self-defense mechanism, it function in the same way as we need to physically make ourselves look bigger and stand our ground if a Bear is charging at us, except that it is more a psychological self-defense, when for example if someone tries to belittle you or gaslight you, the ego can be a very useful tool. But it can turn quite bad when/if we inflate our own sense of self (which is likely to happen in Martial Arts as we learn these cool moves right) because most people don't actually get to test themselves, to be challenged which is a good way to actually know where they actually stand , it ihelps us maintain a sense of reality. It is easy to substitute real experience with an fantasy if the fantasy is all that we to base ourselves on and fantasy have no limitations, it can be quite brainwashing and self-deceptive, which of course, at the same time comes with a lot of deep rooted insecurities (Such as fear) and that is when the Ego start blowing up, in situations that pokes at our insecurities and we start to lose control. The ego will always build psychological barriers around our insecurities, depending on how severe our insecurities are, it can be quite quite toxic for ourselves and be an toxic experience for people around us. The best way to break through that barrier is to face an actual challenge , but the issue is that the ego within ourselves can prevent us from making that choice as a way to protect ourselves from psychological pain, we start fabricating excuses, such as: Oh to me Martial Arts are only about peace and serenity, it's for self-defense etc, etc, which basically is us hiding behind a morale high-ground, which at the same time is a way of flaunting superiority through unecessary cowardice (I am not saying War is good, and that we should attack people is a good thing and that peace and serenity is bad, but we would be quite inexperienced with our level of self-defense if we actually doesn't go through proper challenges which hardens us, which can be a positive thing for everyone involved in this process, a mutual benefit aswe learn best through pain. That it at least that our real abilitirs should be learned in a controlled environment, of course it is good to learn ethics at the same time, to have guidelines that prevent us from abusing our biological weapon, can be a bonding experience for all involved in a friendly exchange of experienc, if we are honest about ourselves, there is no humiliation to worry about either, it's training and everyone leaves that mat better for it, either as friends, experience or both)... But we need challenges to really know ourselves, not rely on fragile fantasies of how we wish to see ourselves, that can lead to a lot of humiliation because at some point people want us to walk the talk.
The bloke who thought he was a Jedi Master, has got to be one of the funniest things I have witnessed this year. The way he was demolished in the real fight was entertainment for the viewer, total embarrassment for the martial arts 'master'

I was in a martial arts cult and what I can say is there is a lot of pressure to react to their little "technique" because they have you doing it in front of everyone. If you resist, you get accused of having "bad energy" or similar things. Its a weird psychological thing going on. You start to gaslight yourself into believing it. My friend and I eventually left because we just couldn't keep up the cognitive dissonance any more.

For me, it was covering up my ribs…for aikido man, it was abandoning aikido.
There's nothing wrong with Aikido, or any other fighting form, it's the fighter. There is no fighting style under the sun that can make you a "good fighter". Only you can do that. Hate to sound like a guy with a long white beard, but it's true.
@@felixfedre518 While I agree, it's only to an extent. Some martial arts are just plain and simple bad for combat, especially against people who know what they’re doing. Aikido, Tai-Chi, and Sumo being prime examples of that. MMA is an excellent demonstration of what works and what doesn't. Since it takes skillsets from countless fighting arts and shows which comes out on top. It's not a perfect example, but it's the best one by far. I can't tell you how many Aikido jagoffs came into the Kenpo studio I used to train at just to challenge one of our Sifus before getting prompltly throttled. Kenpo has many flaws too, many of their skills simply aren't practical in application and some can even be just brute forced through. My biggest problem is the stance that they taught, but that's not the point.

its not that the martial arts are lacking, its 1. almost no martial art is strong enough to be used entirely on its own in an MMA type setting 2. These niggas are lying about their skill 3. tai chi is a martial art of slow but purposeful movements that is used for self defense, not aggressive action. even then its not even supposed to be one of the strongest arts

Having boxed in college I learned that there’s an easy factor to determine a wise & great instructor; if one of their biggest lessons (if not the first) is to avoid the confrontation all together then that right there tells you more than enough. “Great instructors teach their art as a last resort…not the default option…” Edit: whenever anyone says that they want to get into a fight to see what it’s like I offer a simple service to help them prep; “let me bop you on the nose so you can anticipate the shock when it happens in real life” 😂
I don't do martial arts and only viewed this as it appeared in my stream. I'm probably over analysing things but I've read to many stories about one punch kills not doing by guys built like tanks but because person was killed by hitting head on concrete pavement. The possibility of legal consequences brought on yourself by engaging in violence is strong and is another reason for as you say avoid confrontation to be only down as a last resort
@@alacarte8635One punch kills are indeed possible, with the victim effectively dead before they begin to fall. Usually it’s due to unusual combinations of factors like pre-existing injury, slightly unusual anatomy, the punch not landing the way it was intended, the victim’s neck muscles not being properly tensed and so forth. A good example is the old “shatter the nose bone and drive the shards into the brain” claim. If it were easy to do there would have been a lot more dead boxers, but it has happened.

The problem is that they confuse art with a real fight. They will punch you faster then you can grab them and they will not follow your lead to grab a hand so you can do something fancy. Punch to the head, kick in the groin and it is usually over. It is not like in the movies where scenes are done for viewership and not reality.
Yep. Embarrassingly enough, this happened to me, too. 6 hardcore years of learning 3 different forms, got my butt knocked out the very first legit fight I ended up in. 19 years old.....street fight with a lippy little punk...dude was 6 inches shorter than me and had started learning to box about 2 years earlier. I never saw it coming. He stepped in with 5 well-placed shots to my solar-plexus and head. Had me on the ground before I could even TRY to block. In my opinion, if you're going to invest your time and money, boxing and BJJ is the way to go.
I took Tai Chi lessons for a while, the meditative form. My teacher, a great friend of mine and also a decades long student of kung fu who used to travel to China for tournaments, basically told me that Tai Chi is based on a fighting form, but you don't really want to rely on it if you're in a fight. Fights are too unpredictable. Like Mike Tyson said... everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Tai Chi and Aikido (properly practiced) are good for improving balance, fine motor control, and core strength, but so are Yoga and Pilates. The problem Im seeing here is guys training full time what should be a supplamentary discipline, then becoming insecure when they realize theyve wasted an inordinant amount of time doing fancy stretches and are unable to defend themselves (also a lot of these guys go to these disciplines because they are afraid to really fight and see it as a "get out of fight free" card). Insecurity compounds with Dunning-Kruger and thats how you end up with these goofs claiming they cant be defeated.
@@aceambling7685just about any other form of calisthenics, yoga, or legitimate martial art is better for core strength than tai chi, most tai chi practitioners are slender and do not have well conditioned cores

I couldn't imagine being a devotee of a two thousand-year-old martial art that doesn't even prevent me from getting knocked out with the very first punch someone throws
Thats because its not actually 2000 years old. Kung Fu was invented by street performers and similar vagabonds during the Opium Wars a couple hundred ears ago.
@@aceambling7685 that is absolutely not true. Its Origins precede the birth of Christ. Shaolin and Daoist monks were among the first to develop it as a martial art. And the weird thing? All of this is easily researchable, so making a bizarre statement like it being a couple hundred years old is very odd.
I appreciate you out here exposing bullshit artists every day from every walk of life. There's no higher calling these days. As far as Aikido goes I think it was intentionally developed to be a more safe form of "combat exercise" rather than an actual fighting technique, but we all know why that doesn't get used as a selling point.
Does aikido work? Sure, though i would say it's situational, i wouldnt depend on it as my main martial art, i would rely on my boxing training as a plan B as boxing was my first martial art.
It took for Bruce Lee to get his back broken for him to realize that Kung Fu had legitimate flaws. This caused him to create Jeet Kune Do, which mixed elements of Kung Fu with American boxing.
It works only in 2 ways, that there are always lessons you can learn from seeing a new perspective and there are certain locks that can be valuable but as a whole the art is outdated and rarely enforceable in a street fight, boxing and simple ground game knowledge (as the average fight last only 7 seconds standing) will always provide better options. Some of these clips never get old. The palm of reality is swift and stings like a MOFO. I think delusional martial arts BS will always be alive and kicking despite how many real world examples you have to go by. I think part of the issue is that some folks love the idea of taking short cuts or the easy, far less painful path that doesn't involve hard work. Some learn after getting hit real hard in the face for the first time while others never wake up from their delusional dream and will always find an excuse, i.e. "My chi was off balance.. the celestial blood moon wasn't in allignment.. somebody sniped me from behind with mind bullets.."
Even as a kid I knew Bruce Lee was just another type of fake fighter like professional wrestlers. Martial arts is too often hyped as the best self defense. It’s not.
The issue is that some of these traditional Chinese martial arts such as “Tai chi” are either outdated or weren’t meant for combat. So even if these guys were legitimate masters, they would still lose to people who train in actual combative martial arts.
It's like the 80's in the US where every dojo promised that they could teach forbidden techniques that could kill a man with a touch. I guess "tai chi will help you retain mobility and energy as you age" doesn't have the same market despite being more generally useful.
I have done aikido and tbh its not practical. Its meant to diffuse conflict WITHOUT causing harm to either you or your opponent. Our master kept it real with us and said: “It is meant to DIFFUSE/DEFEND. It is purely ALL defensive and evasive, if you wanna hurt someone then go study something else” And its true. If you look at real aikido matches/practitioners, you will notice that there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO OFFENSIVE MOVES.
Which is useless since there's a saying that goes along the lines of: "You have to know the attack to know how to defend it." Not to mention Aikido's systems of testing are purely based on technique and against other Aikido techniques or attacks that not even the most unathletic couldn't produce.
I used to do Aikido, but when I defended myself on the street, I also used fists and kicks... Our troop had a practical self-defense seminar every year where we cut Aikido down to just practical techniques and added classical strikes. The best thing is to have a black belt in karate and then do aikido for fun :D
I trained in Aikido, as well as several martial arts. Aikido was created by literally taking every effective and dangerous technique out of Akijujutsu at a time when training an actual martial art in japan was illegal. The result was a system of movement, based on a martial art. It can be fun to train, it can be beneficial to your physical and mental health, as long as you don't try to use it in a fight. I trained for three months in college as an actual college course and in every class, I showed the ultimate ineffectiveness of Aikido as a martial art. I also used my previous experience in other martial arts to show my fellow students how to alter the techniques to actually make them effective. My instructor didn't like that very much, and actually told me to stop doing it. He also didn't like the paper I wrote at the end of the class, systematically tearing Aikido apart, which was titled, "Aikido, Not a Martial Art." The following and final class of the semester, he singled me out, tried to prove a point to me and the rest of the class, and every single thing he tried to do to me failed. I never struggled, I never fought back, I just stood their with a completely bored and unaffected expression on my face while he failed to use pressure points, leverage and brute force to throw me on the mat. Finally he just stood their for a moment looking at me with anger in his eyes, and then asked me to leave the Dojo. I bowed respectfully to him, walked off the mat, turned and bowed respectfully to the rest of the class and walked out. About half of the class followed me! Greatest victory I could have asked for!
I trained under a Tae Kwon Do Master and I doubt he would have boasted himself into a challenge like that, he was humble and respectful toward the skills of another no matter what their discipline and probably roll his eyes at the charlatans. Rarely did he show off in a class let alone the Public. He is a good friend of my family and one night we were is guest for dinner, he had had a bit much to drink...hooch from the back room at a Korean restaurant in Baltimore(one would be amazed at the speakeasy atmosphere of some of these places behind the right doors). He was a little bit disorderly, staggering mostly when we left and were walking down the street and some cops started in on him. In about 2 mins. we had 10 officers on the scene...he must have seemed like an easy target for the BCP to flex on...nope...drunk he disarmed and beat 9 of their asses collectively in about 30 seconds...the 10th, disarmed, held his hands up and stepped back and called for assistance as Master Kim quietly and politely surrendered by sitting himself in the back of the closest police cruiser and spent the night in jail. He was not charged for anything and released with the respect of the Baltimore City Police and later hired as a training consultant for the SRT officers. It was the baddest ass thing I have ever seen in a "fight" especially in a city where the cops and the criminals usually shoot it out. Yep, Masters are people too and can over celebrate...he is a little guy of about 5'4"...imagine a drunken Yoda. He was so fast it defied logic.... Here's since this seems to be doubted: www.bluedragoncincy.com/grandmaster-kim.html
The deal with a vast majority of Far Eastern Martial Arts is that they have been neutered as fighting styles and are more like "lifestyle" disciplines, like yoga. There's a long history of governments cracking down on martial arts to the point that they are quite literally shells of their former selves. Its honestly kind sad.

Although he was right in exposing these frauds, him beating them like that made me cringe. There was no reason for him to do that to prove his point, but he did it regardless. Either he cant controll himself in a fight, or it was personal to him making him go over the top with the beating. Loose - loose situation in my book.
That's quite a loose situation

I grew up in the coal fields of southern WV. The contestants against “Mad Dog” are using a defensive technique we referred to as: “getting an old fashioned ass whooping”. As someone who’s trained martial arts my whole life… ego is rampant and a helluva thing.
Ego is a helluva drug

@@alacarte8635One punch kills are indeed possible, with the victim effectively dead before they begin to fall.

I appreciate you out here exposing bullshit artists every day from every walk of life. There's no higher calling these days. I have done aikido and tbh its not practical.
Its meant to diffuse conflict WITHOUT causing harm to either you or your opponent.
Our master kept it real with us and said:
“It is meant to DIFFUSE/DEFEND. It is purely ALL defensive and evasive, if you wanna hurt someone then go study something else”
And its true. If you look at real aikido matches/practitioners, you will notice that there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO OFFENSIVE MOVES.
Which is useless since there's a saying that goes along the lines of: "You have to know the attack to know how to defend it."
Not to mention Aikido's systems of testing are purely based on technique and against other Aikido techniques or attacks that not even the most unathletic couldn't produce.
These "masters" watchin too much anime and movies...
Props to them for stepping up and taking a beating. Better than making up an excuse not to fight and keep running their little cults.
Don't tell anybody what you can do. That way, whether you lose or win... you still seem pretty good 😂
Joe Rogan be having field days with these 😂
This video might get you on JRE. Joe loves this stuff!
He's already looked at most of these; they've been around awhile.
Here's since this seems to be doubted:

The best part of uour comment is "imagine drunken Yoda". My goodness, your master is a good one!
100% BS
The "fight" at 5:33 legitimately made me laugh.
Tai Chi is for health, nothing else. Mad Dog is exactly what traditional martial arts needed
Bullshit. Circus tricks my friend.
Nah shits always been lame 😂
indeed the war back then was about who got the more control so people with certain set of skills like Sword skill or martial tented to be recruit or depose off
To find out what's real you probably have to go to a real combat/war zone. In Burma (Myanmar now) there's a martial art called Bando, very very tough, and tested by the military.
9:16 still wiping the blood from his nose lol.
I thought it was tears from losses 😅
