As an engineer who mostly works in aerospace companies I've run into people like Tech. Most engineers are normal people who work with technology. Others, like me, are different. We live on the autistic spectrum and have trouble understanding human emotions. I have trouble understanding human body language, facial expressions and the rules of eye contact. People say that the eyes are the windows of the soul, but to me they might as well be painted glass. Relationships are hard and frustrating, and it often feels safer to keep our distance from people. While we're not all technological savants, solving problems and analyzing things often seem a lot easier than dealing with people, so many of us get into science and engineering. That's one reason why many of the engineer/computer geek/scientist stereotypes involve people like Tech who understand things better than people. I'm not saying that Tech is autistic, but I could imagine that his enhancements involved shifting his brain's resources towards analysis and problem solving at the expense of people skills. This puts him somewhat at odds with Omega, who comes off as empathetic. Her natural strength is her ability to reach out to people and understand them. As she matures, I could see her becoming the team's diplomat. I think she could be a leader in the future.
I've been wanting a episode with some development for the members of the team, so I'm glad we finally got it. I don't care what anyone else says, but this episode is not filler. The characters are developed, and they're beginning to realize that they can't trust Cid. I really liked this episode, and Tech is quickly becoming my favorite member of the Bad Batch.
So, since the the Batch has found another huge vein near the deserted town, looks like the team may have found a way to leave Sid behind and have a place of their own with a way to make their own way.
I think Sid might betray them the next episode. I think it would be fitting if after all this time Sid decides to call the empire and tell them the Bad Batch are alive and are stranded.
Something I haven't heard anyone mention about this episode was the prophetic visuals of the literal, and inevitable, storm on the horizon. It was haunting to see that violent thunderstorm, and to have it followed up by Cid's seeming indifference. I'm feeling excited and anticipating a great deal of discomfort for our heroes going forward this season.
Just pointing out, They had 4 or 5 vials of Ipsium from Cid's mine, and I remember the thief was fiddling with wires or something, so yeah it wasn't as easy as walking up to it (though now I wonder how they do those quick getaways).
This episode reminded me of a fan comic that came out a year ago where Tech was the one struggling with change having Omega joined the group. Both of them are separated from the rest of the crew and Echo is still a part of the group in the comic. I think someone at Lucasfilm saw that comic and made an episode about it.
There never was a moment where Omega expressed any concern for the people who raised her, the Kaminoans. It seems she was more than a human "lab rat" to ( Lammasu?). Does she view herself as a kid sister or an integral part of a team? Maybe she has not had the time to reflect on where she fits in and is just winging it until one of the batch decides he belongs elsewhere. Now there is a loss of a sense that her support group is committed to provide her with a consistent role and the security of knowing what actions she may expect from her brother clones.
Echo…. there is an echo only remaining… a great episode. wishing more dialogue moments still like this one had though. Love the BB, but missing Andor because of that reason. So either longer episodes or 2-4 ep story arcs. Tech’s portrayal and the neurodivergence was right on the dot. Omega was finally being relatable. acting just like any of us would if loosing family despite them needing to do their own thing. Oh, they should keep the ipsium for themselves and ditch Cid. Hope the clone cause will get some wind under its wings and waiting for Cross, Echo and Rex to show up soon. Show less
Yes, I did like this episode. Omega finally behaved age appropriately. We saw interesting interactions between the various characters as a consequence of Echo's leaving. I hope we see the fallout from their being abandoned by Cid very soon.
You guys always make me laugh. You're prolly cussing with the cossing. For a crack team of clones they sure fail a lot. I watch this show with my 13 y.o and it got a conversation going about his 18 y.o brother who just left (uni). I even see this relate to vets with PTSD. Not filler in my book.
Thor I doubt you care but you made a cameo in diseal patches newest video. Literally a few seconds within the first ten seconds but it was way better then half the cameos in Book of Boba.
Guys, I'm starting to think that Cid is going to betray them, sell them to the Empire... But as the Empire doesn't get them, some imperial is going to kill her. Like what Rampart did to that clone commander. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
This episode made me realize that the Bad Batch are the most boring part of their own show. It’s tough being interested in the cartoony Bad Batch, when this show has much more interesting characters outside the main team.
Hello you! good review and thx for paying attention to the comments, about this episode i have to say is not the worst but is not either the best written at all, it follows the same repetitive situations of Sid giving them weird side quests that not have anything to do with the actual plot of thw crew, they as usual mess everything up like always (3 stooges way), some character development (this one a little better than others) and the end.. this is the bad batch way you could say, and i say is not well written because silly and incoherent things happen just for the lol, how do you get your ship stolen so easy? tech is still in the group and he cant secure it?? wrecker is your best option to be the lookout?? some examples that can make people say what they say about filler episodes, and i think thats why when you get chapters like the ones in the senate you get satisfied, because they moved away from the formula they use in the batch episodes, keep rocking and stay safe!
I’m not saying this one is filler but if you really want to do episodes that are filler this is how u do it but finally the main characters get developed…
The visuals were great, they did character development, but it was formulaic. I think that's why many people still feel like it's a filler. It's a standard plot done with higher than standard quality. The Crosshair episodes are not so formulaic because they tend to be directly related to the history of the clones. They add to the lore, whereas these episodes mostly add to the galaxy of such adventure stories, one-offs. However, this being a two-parter, things may drastically change. I also think Tech was not so carefully written here. If my memory serves me well, first he says 'I don't know what I am supposed to feel'. But later on he says something like 'Because I don't speak about it, it doesn't mean I have feelings'. It could be a confusion in him or just a writer's negligence.

I think it’s awesome how you both listen to each other.

For next Naboo Meme Monday Intro, I hope she does Kermit the Frog's voice.

I would like to know the name of such comic, please
I just wanna know what Naboo is going to call the Rex / Echo team up.

Give them a good “cossing” out. (Title card, guys.)
Hell yes, Grog "Wrecker" Strongjaw. I don't know the Venn diagram of CR and SW fans, but that Venn is me.
the gonk droid will save the ship

Thinking Cyd may have set them up
When the Lizard-Lady answered the call....
I thought the same thing
.....or there is a ISB agent holding her at gunpoint

The Enemy...MINE episode. lmao. You two tickle my funny bone and provide a nice opinion. Keem em' coming.

“Cossing “?
yes obviously cossing !
There’s actually a trailer with Cody and Rex. I can edit this for the link if you want to see/review.

Everytime the episode starts with the Marauder I get really bummed out

Are dead clones on “the Great Mission In The Sky”?
I’m not saying this one is filler but if you really want to do episodes that are filler this is how u do it but finally the main characters get developed…

Not fussed about developing the relationship between characters who aren't that interesting.
Exactly
