In a musical FULL of great songs, this one is near the top for me. Every word is perfect. When I saw her perform this song a few months ago for the first time it was so compelling that I didn't want to breathe...the theater was so quiet, hanging on every word and note she sang. A gifted actress and musician.
SOBBING CRYING SCREAMING THROWING UP. This won’t be the same without her. I was lucky enough to see this before Covid and she was there and I promise you nothing compared. She should be so so proud of herself.
Absolutely devastating and completely haunting. 2:26 onwards is so difficult to listen to as she just tries to make it through. What transcending talent.
@@yasermimidin4958 how do you know this though? Sounds way more like an actually emotional experience of singing this song for the last time rather than an acting choice…
@@yasermimidin4958 But it's also her last performance of the song. There are several other videos where Hadestown cast members start actually sobbing and struggling to get through their last songs, like Amber Gray's last performance of We Raise Our Cups.
Eva Noblezada is a master at raw emotive singing- especially mixing ugly emotive sounds with beautiful technical singing. Her performance in Miss Saigon (as problematic as the foundation of that show is) is absolutely devastating and beautiful. She brought this level of pain every single performance. I don’t really know much about Hadestown but this is exactly the same level of control (if not even more perfected) that she had in Miss Saigon. The clips of her rehearsal in The Great Gatsby are looking promising too!
when she started belting I started to tear up because it was so unexpected and raw!! that has never happened before, eva! noblezada! the ending too, if I was there I think I’d be fully crying
I saw her in this role 3 times and it was a different performance each time. Always goosebumps and tears inducing every single time. This was her holy grail of a song. Until her next role. ❤
Watched Hadestown Broadway TWICE already (March and June 2023). Both Eva’s performances were phenomenal!! For those planning of watching Hadestown.. I recommend staying on the left side of the the orchestra when facing the stage! You will thank me after!
its a dream of mine to see her live. im so sad i missed seeing her during this run of hadestown 😭😭 i literally teared up and I CANT EVEN SEE THE PERFORMANCE 😭😭😭😭
If you can make it to New Jersey she is in a new production of The Great Gatsby at Papermill Playhouse with Jeremy Jordan (newsy fame) but it's only showing until November.
She held it together but you could tell she was fighting back tears for a significant portion of the show. There were standing ovations both when she came out at the beginning and when she finished Flowers.
What show were you all watching lol maybe we have different ideas of what holding it together means. I mean Eva didn't stop the show like Sara Bareilles did at her last she used to be mine, but she wasn't that far off either. She cried from start to finish, as did the rest of the cast. And I don't mean crying like the acting crying with the a few tears... this was full deal throat engaged raw emotion crying. And it was beautiful.
I was so lucky we got to go on July 25, it was Persephone's last night. I was just thrilled that we didn't plan our trip a month later. This is so pure and moving. Thanks for sharing it!
the tone in her voice?? the emotion?? the cast album holds nothing to this performance. so raw and real. i cannot stop listening to it omfg
YES! When I saw it live in June, she was literally slamming her hands on the stage and was practically hunching up into a ball. I was bawling
the guttural raw emotional belt, holy shit! its incredible
She’s a Broadway legend in the making. Truly some of the best vocals I have ever heard on every role she’s played.

she’s such genius for going off timing towards the end
I don’t know if it was intentional. I think she was genuinely struggling to get through it emotionally.
@@JackieRossLavender it definitely was intentional it was a singing choice to show the desperation and raw emotion of the scene
@@yasermimidin4958 how do you know this though? Sounds way more like an actually emotional experience of singing this song for the last time rather than an acting choice…
@@JackieRossLavender I would belive it’s intentional becuase this is her profession lol

You can hear the tears near the end. God I wish I was there that night.

So glad someone recorded this. It was so magical that night and i keep coming back to this song.
2:04 Jesus Christ, Eva’s vocals transcend our universe.

devastating emotion, spectacular performance. must have been on a whole other level seeing it live! much love to our songbird, eva noblezada
You can hear it in her voice that she was emotional and I'm here for it I love her so muchh

Oh my god this is so raw and beautiful. I can’t believe she’s gone. She’ll be so missed
What do u mean she’s gone?
@@bassplayer5366 she’s left the show, this recording was from her final performance
@@heyitsmemarie7991 ah ok..thanks☺️
Awe, was anyone there? Was Eva holding it together? She sounds beautiful, but there's so much emotion in her voice, even for Flowers.
Yes. She held it together. Lots of tears and emotion but Eva channeled it into Eurydice. She is pro. Epic performance.
@@kevineve so sad I never got to see her. Really enjoyed seeing the touring company, but Eva's talent is just next level.
