From the moment I got my used '02 Boxster S it felt like a go cart for adults especially the steering & brakes!
i just bought an electric car
also have a benz 4matic for the winter months.
However!!
i bought my 2000 boxster 2.7 back in 1999 new!
i still have it to this day. and its 2021 now !
i will never get rid of it..never

First time I’ve heard that the steering isn’t great, especially when compared to a c5 corvette. I have a ‘00 Boxster S and I find this to be one of its highpoints.
I agree, I own a "00 Boxter S as well as the steering is better then any car out there?

I daily drive a 00 Boxster, even in the snow. Such a nice daily driver. I would pick a Boxster over any car for a daily driver. It’s fun, somewhat reliable, and you always turn heads.
its interesting that you note the steering on the 986 to be less than great, I absolutely love the steering myself. Very analogous and gives you a lot of road feel, it felt heavy to me the first time test driving it but over a few months it feels absolutely brilliant!
I just bought a stock 2000 Boxster S for $9500 and it absolutely rips! There's just nothing out there that you can get for under 10k that comes close to the power and sophistication of the Boxster S, and it's actually pretty easy to work on as well!
I find it hard to believe that a C5 Vette has better steering than a Boxster.

I've owned a '01 Boxster S since June 2009.... black on black, 6 speed... still gives me a smile everytime I drive it...
Those BBS wheels suit that car and color so well
The original 986 2.5 is the most fun sports car ever

I have never heard anyone say the Boxster doesn't have great steering. Were those 19in wheels? If so that isn't ideal. Boxster is setup for 17in or 18in wheels anything over that will be a detriment to handling characteristics. Tire pressure as wheel.
Very cool cars and compelling argument against the Miata. Understeer is pretty bad in these. Interesting comments about the steering.

0-60 was 6.0 in motor mag and i personally got 6.1.not 6.9

The driver ruined the entire video. Civic Type R? Unreal.
It’s not just the IMS bearing. The entire engine in these cars is garbage. Several points of failure and basically non rebuildable. First gen water cooled Porsche will never be worth anything
So in keeping with your theory my 2 986’s will be worth a fortune as all the others engines would have grenaded …do you suggest draining all fluids before ice storage
