    Idk why I'm seeing this video years later but man did I learn some new meaties I didn't know. Great video !

    omg you just leveled up my nash play!! can properly apply pressure and don't have to guess the timing! only thing to worry about is the opponents meter and invincibility for reversals. Thank you!!

    This is the best video I've ever seen on Nash. I had no idea that so many of those dash-ups were safe after knockdowns. I guess I just play too safe.

    Hey I did a bit more testing...
    @3:22, you are actually +9 (not +6) after the dash from lk SS.
    You can dash into c.hp to score a CH (set dummy to wakeup 3f c.lp)
    If anything st.mp and cr.mp are 6f startup, 3frame active. Given the first active frame overlaps the last frame of startup, if you dash and c.mp at the earliest possible frame, you will whiff your c.mp, and get jabbed. I guess you can manually delay it by 1 or 2 frames, but it's not a perfect frame meaty.... c.hp is.

    Can somebody help me out a bit? Assuming that frame data hasn't changed since this video, I don't seem to fully understand either "frame perfect" and/or "manual" meaties.
    I initially thought that frame perfect means I can't afford to have any idle frames in the sequence, or I'll be too late. In other words I have to input everything seamlessly. But I can easily do this supposedly frame perfect sequence (3:30) way too fast, so that my cr.MP whiffs and I get hit by the wakeup reversal move (using Zangief's lariat). It works if I slow down a bit. So I have to manually delay the normal... = manual meaty? Can anyone explain what might be happening or what I'm misunderstanding?

    At like 3:09 in the video, Ryu blocks the incoming attack from Nash, which Ryu can normally punish, but can't here. IF Ryu instead of blocking on wakeup, did a medium or light uppercut, would it beat all of these Nash's frame perfect meaties?

    • @SFO_Dragonman
      @SFO_Dragonman 8 лет назад

      A fully invincible move will beat a meaty normal attack no matter how well you set it up, but you have to work on the basis that an intelligent player won't uppercut every time as dragon punches are so risky. If their default response is uppercut you can bait them/punish them hard/try to condition them not to. A major benefit of these meaties is that once you've established you have tight pressure like this you should be able to convince a good player to stop pressing buttons/backdashing/jumping out on wake up, or at least think twice about doing so. It can also have the benefit of making the opponent *more* likely to uppercut if you make them they feel like their only choice is to take the pressure or do something drastic.

    nice video. probably didn't need the intro with all the specials properties so it doesn't take so long to get to the pressure part. still great for those new to Nash though.
    on 6:31 you spelled "corner" as "corder". no big deal but you asked if there were any mistakes at the end and to bring them up to your attention :)

      I but the beginning bit in because I know there are a lot of new faces coming to the game & for people who don't play him much or at all. Point noted though & thanks for the feedback :)

    nice vids. the number are right but some key facts are missing. like sweep is very much punishable by alot of characters (even at Max range). and a blocked Forward HP is unsafe too. but for your first upload it's deffo good. all for more uk content.

    In the HK SS section when you talk about double dashing, you have Mika back rising in the quick rise section. I don't know if that changes anything but I wanted to let you know.

  • @PsychoSupreme

    At 3:48 how are those moves supposed to work with a delayed tech? Like go LK Scythe into dash, then what? They'd still be laying there. You went straight to back rise after that.

      +Psychosupreme I think he's saying delayed throw tech

  • @derrace

    Great vid, quick question:
    You have mentioned that after HK SS and a dash you are +24, then at 5:34, you were talking about backrise.
    Nash's dash is 17f, and backrise is +5f to wakeup.
    Wouldn't the 2nd dash put you on +12 (24 - 17 + 5) instead of +13?
    Just wondering where you got the +24 (or +41 without dash) from.

    Also frustrating as all hell getting a Knee Bazooka to even come out after a Tragedy Assault and for whatever reason, I can't get anything afterwards to register as a combo. Is it because of insane timing or was Nash shadow-"bugfixed"? :s
    Edit: Using Necalli as a dummy, switched to Mika like in your video, it works as a combo. Maybe it doesn't work on Necalli

    Damn, what weird but useful tech. I wonder if this was all intentional in this game. Seeing this is nice to because I've been getting destroyed by what seems to be the same concept tech wise when fighting R. Mika.

    • @draven1260
      @draven1260 8 лет назад

      meaties have always been around, they're really good in five since most people block or cr.lp on wake up since you can't throw tech.

    Very informative video! But I have a question, how do you know that after light scythe kick for example you are +6 after a dash? I've been trying learn and understand frame data to try and create my own set-ups. I looked at some frame data online and apparently after LK Scythe kick you are at +26 if they quick rise and Nash's Dash is 17 frames. From looking at frame data alone shouldn't you be +9 after dash? Can you help me understand how you calculated this? Thanks.

    • @thegrull4584

      Thanks!
      Hmmmm... I couldn't find any info to work out exactly what Nash was after a LK Scythe so I had to use trial and error to find everything out. However, I knew R. Mika has armour on her peach move but only from the 2nd frame, if I try and use cr. Hp which is 9 frames after a dash I will always get hit by the reversal. This also happens when I use st. Hp which is 7 frames meaning the to have a perfect meaty Nash must use a 6 frame normal. Hope that makes sense.

      +SFO Nargrull Thanks, it makes perfect sense. Good old fashioned trail and error always works. I found the frame data here: t.co/5ZvxnZ8bX4. Credits to @gilley3D for compiling the data.

      +Nathan Shaw Yeah already got it to work but as a completely new to the fighting game genre (SFV is my first fighting game ever) i don't really understand the xx every here and there. It means cancel I think but what does that mean in-game and how do I do it?

    • @draven1260
      @draven1260 8 лет назад

      +Eetutti you do the special during the normal you are canceling. So if you do cr.mp canceled into mk.scythe you would do the input for mk.scythe during the cr.mp frames.
