Hi, I am a blind person listening on my iPhone. It’s nice to see some real reporting something AI mumbo-jumbo. Do you get a real sense and feel I put what going on I’m a favor but we’re doing as US and other countries and helping Ukraine gain their freedoms.
Next year, Australia will be replacing it's 59 M1A1 Abrams tanks with the M1A2 model. What we need is the international community to heap pressure on Australia to donate these tanks to Ukraine. When the war first broke out, Australia had a conservative government who were very generous in what we donated, in fact we were at one stage the biggest non NATO donor.
We then had an election and ended up a Labor Government who basically will not supply anything. Last year, a decision was made to almost immediately retire our fleet of 45 MRH 90 Taipan helicopters. The fleet was originally scheduled for retirement in 2037. Despite Ukraine being desperate for them, the Labor Government ordered them cut up and buried in landfill. What an absolute disgrace.
We do have a federal election coming up within the next 12 months and going on the polls, we should have a conservative federal government again. But we need to ensure that these 59 Abrams tanks go to Ukraine, we need it put on paper with US export approval. Ukraine are already in Australia lobbying the government. To highlight how important this is, Ukraine only has 31 Abrams tanks all from the US. We are talking about an extra 59 Abrams tanks ! While it wont win the war alone, it's a huge asset to Ukraine who have had to use their existing Abrams tanks very sparingly due to the small number they have.
Europe and the UK need to put pressure on Australia. We likely don't have the airlifting capabilities to get them all to Europe, so will need commitments from countries with heavy lifting assets to assist.
We cannot have another incident of important arms being buried at the rubbish tip when they could be stopping Russian aggression. I am sure they wouldnt mind a few in Kursk at the moment.......

Checking the Ukraine support tracker, and the amount of hardware Australia has donated is shameful in comparison to other countries. Hope that changes, especially as it seems we have surplus to help make a difference.

It's just my thoughts but ultimately Ukraine leadership probably felt they had to do this or our western governments would/could put pressure on Ukraine to enter negotiations with Russia and Ukraine would lose the territory Russia has or western military aid.
Personally I think our western governments should just lift all restrictions for Ukraine using any weapons on Russian soil.

Аs somebody who grew up there, I am saying this is useless, unfortunately. The idealistic naive view is based on the premise that they are like us. There are several thousand years in civilization development difference. Their Stone Age ended 4 thousand years later than Europe [based on archeological evidence]. On top of this they have this Asian view: the Brits, Americans and Ukrainians will go, but Moscow stays forever. With our betrayal of Afghans we only reinforce this.

The Reddit CombatFootage subreddit... I've seen things on there that were spoken of during WW1-2 regarding the trenchwarfare.. men and limbs half buried in the dirt- destroyed terrain as far as the eye can see, much like Verdun, and more.. Truly the biggest war of the past 2-3 lifetimes.

Great reporting! Let's support the brave Ukrainian soldiers. There are many charities that assist in buying IFAK, Individual First Aid Kits, for the soldiers to carry in combat. These are life savers in combat.

That's a VERY good question. After all, destroying Ukrainian settlements is one thing - but destroying your own, even if you try and blame it on the Enemy, is something else. And what to do with all those displaced people? Conversely, if the Russians are not allowed to flatten the areas in which the Ukrainians are dug in...problems, problems for Tsar Vladimir the Terrible!

When Kursk was invaded last time it was the Soviet Union- including Ukraine- fighting against Germany.

Where are the young people? All of those in your video are old.
Good question. Apparently it was quite an old demographic in that area even before the invasion as young people left to get jobs. In the rural areas there weren’t many schools, so young families left as well. And then when the invasion happened everyone left who could.
Many elderly were abandoned by their younger family members reportedly. There was a report of a paralyzed grandmother abandoned and left to starve, she was in a shocking condition! 😢
Same as in Ukraine. Young people are willing and able to leave.

The F-16 might be a pretty old aircraft, but it's still a very capable fighter and is more than a match for the Russian SU-27, which is the mainstay aircraft, the work horse, of the VKS.

it would be terrying traveling in one of the APC near the front. The casualty rates are insane.
It definitely felt different in a big metal box, which is a 'legitimate target'. In all my trips to the frontline over the last two and half years, this was only thr second time I have had to travel in a purpose built military vehicle (rather than a re-purposed 4x4)
