Not only was he a lyricist, he mastered multi syllabic rhymes, wordplay, freestyle God, and on top of all that he was an undisputed battle rapper. He'd body anyone. Rappers from the underground are unbelievable.
Welcome to the underground realm of rap lol. Everyone of them extremely gifted, underrated, and the GOATS. There's a whole new world out there beyond the usually mentioned Big, Pac, Jay, Nas, and Em.
Big L is kind of slept on because he got gunned down before he got huge. Check out his freestyle with Jay Z over the instrumental from Milkbone's "Keep It Real". HIS verses? Damm!!... Just.... DAMN!!
Your reaction to Big L is Awesome !!!!! I can listen to "Put It On" literaly 1,000 times in a row. His delivery, voice, flow and punch are legendary!!! Wish we could have seen how he would have progressed through the decades... L Would have been a true GOAT...!!!!
Yo,u on a journey now with L, u should check out his "Danger Zone", "All Black", "Lifestylez Of Poor And Dangerous" and his feestyles, there's alot,u'll love it!!)
Big L one of the GOATS for sure. Many MCs still say he one of the best. One of the first ones that rapped in Multi’s on the regular. Yea that era with Biggie, Nas, Pac, Hov and Big Pun was different
@@Nuggetsin4 I simply asked a question to see who you think is better lyrically and punchlines than big l. I can think of only one being eminem but that's it. Lil Wayne and j cole come close but that's all I can think of. Enlighten me on who elsen
Big L got murdered in Feb of 1999 but L was way ahead of his time RIP to a true legend but react to Big L "The Enemy" Ft Fat Joe, you will not be disappointed
Like Eminem said "Take some B.I.G and some Pac and mix them up in a pot, sprinkle a little Big L ontop, what the fk do you got? you got the realest and illest killers tied up in a knot, the juggernauts of this rap shit, like it or not"
Honestly I said this before to many debates and if someone asked what musician let alone rapper can you bring back from the dead to continue making art it would be big L no doubt. I think he would've flowed well into transitions on hop hop and just consistently kill it RIP Big L forever.
Great reaction! Big L and Big Pun are two of the greatest lyricists who don't get enough praise for what they accomplished in their short time with us. RIP
L was a lyrical monster gone too soon. As far as his hardest shit I recommend either "All Black" or "Casualties of a Dice Game" those tracks are too hard for no reason, just cause he could. Legend 🤙🤙.
Big L is top 10 for me... couple more albums and he probably would have been top 3 for me. If you like this, please check out Eminem's "Infinite." Came out at about the same time (mid-90s) and Em sounded a lot like Big L back then. Totally different thing from him. True oldschool hip hop, and I think you would really enjoy it. New sub here. Keep em coming. :)
When he says "Children of the Corn" that was one of his groups, it was him, Mase, Cam'ron, Mcgruff, Bloodshed and I'm missing someone I can't remember. Check some of their songs, audio quality might not be the best on some of the them but check it. That group had Big L, Mase and Cam'ron all made it on their own too. Big L's other group was DITC Diggin in the Crates which was a group of rapper that came together to collaborate which is the rappers he named at the end.
Both his albums are bangers from start to finish, but his best tracks to react to that nobody really reacts to is The Big Picture Intro, Dangerzone by Herb Mcgruff feat Big L and Mase, The Yes You May remix feat Lord Finess or Represent By Showbiz and AG feat Big L, Lord Finess and Deshaun
Those r his dopest ones cause he still had an "old school flow" before he started switchin up his flow for th 2000s. I'd even throw in "Let em' have L" to react to. I really fk with his early unreleased sht too. cadences & punchlines too smooth
RIP the punchline KING. You're getting a sub JUST for the Big L reactions! Big L didnt give a FK what he said. He was saying what nobody else dared saying. One of the best tracks in hip hop history this is probably/L's hardest song because of his short career. He had potential to be the goat but because of the short back catalogue of work he is a top ten rapper who could of made it much higher up my list if some prick hadn't killed him
