- Boards of Canada are two musicians from Scottland. They're active since the 80s and they mostly make electronic music using samples, hip hop kind of beats, and modified voices.
Nostalgia and childhood memories can be felt through the melodies.
I also think most of their tracks are very relaxing, so take a nice hot drink, and appreciate.

BOC captured a sort of wistful nostalgic aspect of old Canadian Film Board shorts and transformed that into something trippy, mesmerizing, and vaguely unsettling.
Listening to the first 20 min is like time travelling. Once you come back from the trance you realize this guys were ahead, aiming to be geniuses of an era when it comes to modern music. Hands down. Wizards

I don't know if they were aiming to be geniuses, that would be too ego driven for Boards. But they were aiming to do something special.. And they knew exactly what they were doing.

BOC capture something special in their music, some sort of deep nostalgic essence. I wonder if the music stirs this in others
Its always made me feel like I'm watching PBS at dusk. On a tundra.
"Relaxing and comforting" is one one to describe BOC I suppose. I find their music to have a very dark and haunting undertone. They're brilliant.

As much as I enjoy these tracks, I think this compilation doesn't really work. Those tracks are from different albums or EPs, and they work best in the context of the album. For example, I don't think you can take a Geogaddi track and put it in the same playlist with a track from Trans Canada Highway. The atmosphere, the feeling is completely different.
I don't blame you, it's extremely hard to do a BOC compilation that works. I prefer listening to their albums exactly as they were designed. Then I can immerse myself into the atmosphere, and daydream or meditate or do creative work like writing or drawing. This is when I enjoy their music most.
