これ、ちゃんと元の設定を忠実に再現してて、マミーは人間には敵意をむくけど、同じおもちゃには敵意をむかないっていうの改めて感心した。
これ最初ホントに意味わからんかったんだけど最後まで見たらあの男の子もおもちゃだったんだなって思ってあとからわかってそれまでは血は繋がってないけど家族なんかなって思ってたんだけど同じおもちゃだから守ってたんだなってこのコメントでわかった

She is not a monster she is a mother who cares

See for me, it's hard to call anyone 'villain' in this story:
The kid has no idea about anything other than his mom being irl Plastic-Man. And the cops only ever see an escaped giant menace a woman and child before knocking the woman and encapsulating said child in seconds.
Though the mother and teacher seem to be the far more guilty characters.
The mother escaped a place that clearly experimented on her, though how much blame can be put on the corpses of the workers that were in her basement is questionable, especially the woman she took over (brings into question how the boy was even born, was the worker pregnant before the mother made her into a disguise? Possible replication like single celled organisms?).
And the teacher bearing the same guilt. Seemingly had the best intentions at the start. Though she had alternative motives judging by the fact she brought him to the factory probably knowing they didn't have his best interests in mind. Also the fact she's also an employee at the place puts her care of the boy into more scrutiny
I actually see mommy as one of the least likely villains, she had to escape the factory given the conditions and treatment and it was likely that she just took on a human form, having had the child while in the facility while human as they experimented on adults before going to kids, meaning she took him with, for there is no visual of the boy getting anything changed, he could have had these powers before and just not known how to use them, the body bags were because of all the people she had to kill in order to leave, which also explains why he seemed so desensitized to it, he saw it happen, only being affected by mommy’s death as she was the only person who really cared for him
The teacher is because it is shown she only did it to get the kid which is baby skinny legs and experiment on him it’s shown at the end she is a play time worker
I thought mommy had somehow entered the body of the teacher like a demon leaving one host for another and the boy was a long-leg the whole time

To make this shorter the teacher is the villain for trying to take the boy away from his mother even though she didn't know but he was happy with being with her so it was obvious that that was his mom and mommy long legs is just trying to keep the boi safe in all conditions and last of all the father is daddy long legs if u don't know him search it up bu t they had a baby but they had to split up so mommy long legs decided she will take the baby and keep him safe

Sooooooo... let's recap the timeline:
1) An employee of the Poppy Playtime Company had been turned into Mommy Long Legs.
2) She had escaped the Playtime Factory and had gone missing.
3) At some point, she gave birth to a child (who turned out to share her abilities, as shown at the end of this animation).
4) Another employee of the Playtime Company eventually discovers that the child's mother is Mommy Long Legs, and asks the child to lead to her for investigation. Upon seeing Mommy's horrifying body and behaviour, she is seen as a threat by that other employee, who then tries to withdraw the child from her. However, far from being a danger to the child, Mommy Long Legs is actually very protective towards her son and in return see the other employee as a threat as well. Eventually, Mommy Long Legs is killed by the local police while sacrificing herself to protect her boy from an accidentally shot bullet.
5) The other employee suspects the now-orphan child to share her mother's abilities, and hence brings him to the secret facility of Poppy Playtime Company.
I am still unsure about the other employee's motivations though:
- Did she initially intends to neutralize Mommy Long Legs to preserve the Company's secret? Or to even bring her back to the facility at some point?
- Does she brings the child to the secret facility simply because he's now an orphan? Or because he knows too much? Or because he may be used as a potential guinea pig for the Company's goal of creating living toys? Did she really suspect him to share the same abilities as his mother, and thus thinks that he could replace Mommy Long Legs' role at some extent?
If I have misunderstood anything in the story, please rectify me! Thank you!
i think the teacher is a one of the finders hired by factory.
To fine the mommy-long leg, Finders already read about the important info : mommy-long leg's pregnancy so she became the children's teacher and waited for that day like any other finders.

@@jbk5349 You mean that the Playtime employee (= the Finder as you call her) was pretenting to be a teacher just to have the opportunity to locate THE child of Mommy Long-Legs, so she could locate Mommy Long-Legs herself? Considering the numbers of schools and classes (that each Finder would need to invidually infiltrate for several years) in a relatively large town, that would be like looking for a needle in a haystack :/

Idk anything about that story or game.
So here's my theory.
Mommy long legs was an employee in the company
She was an orphan. So the company chose her for an experiment since she had no family. [I added the ‘orphan’ part because I have read something like that in the comments]
The experiment was successful and they succeeded to make a living human toy. [Maybe only successful experiment]
However, she escaped from the facility and hid somewhere.
It was broadcasted on the news.
After that, Mommy-long-legs got pregnant with a guy, probably they met and went in a relationship after her escaping.
She gave birth to a boy who happened to have the same abilities as her and since he was raised by her since his birth, he thought his mom is normal and got used to it. Mommy-long-legs loved kids, only that could keep her sane. [This line is also from that comment]
One day, at school, he drew his mom and drew very large legs and hands for her.
His teacher saw that and remembered the news she saw about Mommy-long-legs escaping.
She went to the kids house and saw Mommy-long-legs, also an ID card, that probably means she was an employee there.
She was captured and tried to escape with the kid, the police thought she was trying to cause harm to the kid since she was holding a knife and was running away with the kid, Mommy-long-legs returned to her human state but the teacher makes her reveal herself.
She sacrifices her life for her kid.
The teacher handed over him to the facility where his mom was kept: suspecting that he might be like his mom also she may get something in return. Then it was revealed that he's a Baby-long-legs.

the thought of mommy long legs protecting her child with her life is really touching to see how far a monster would go to protect her child

保育士（？）は最初とてもいい人だと思っていましたが、最後の展開では絶対やってはいけないことをやってしまう人だと知り、

Does anyone know what the little metal boxes are? The ones that are taken out of and put into the spines of the children in most of the poppy playtime animation. Seems to be the core of the lore.
I'm not sure, but the only thing I can presently think of is that they are some kind of electronic device, that may be used to track the children, maybe hurt them if they step out of line, or maybe end them if they fight back and hurting them doesn't stop them.

Ok so i have a theory : so at the start we see that the news said that mommy long legs is missing so it might be the mom from the start because she was acting weird and when she remembered about the news she was looking like she was scared and when the child fell mommy long legs saved him from hitting the floor and mommy long legs saved him by getting hit by the bullets so maybe 🤔 mommy long legs was the child's real mom then she got turned into that mommy long legs monster then she replaced her but then the mommy long legs turned her into the real mommy long legs
