Today I encountered the one Pokémon I've been waiting so long to find in Pokémon GO. The one that took me to the ends of the Earth and back. My white whale spawned today and I ran around Long Beach trying to find it. This was easily the most fun day of playing Pokémon GO I've had in a long time.

I miss the days when every single person on the street was playing pokemon GO. It was so much fun meeting people in the same team as you and taking over gyms together. I guess it was a once in a lifetime experience. Damn that thing took over the world.

In Nicks POV this does count as "his rarest catches ever" but in terms of rarity, I would agree with you thats its far his 100% IV with best MS catches in the past.
Some trainers just have that one or few mons that they cant seem to bag. Let alone in multiple secessions.
Lapras it would seem is one of those mons Nick has clearly been having a hard time getting since day one.
So this is just another 'done it!' check list Nick has. As many more as it would seem.
But yes, I too agree that his 100% collection is far more worthy of the label rare.

the way he was breathing and the way he was reacting with the thumbnail made it sound like he found a unknown. an unknown is much rarer than a lapras, i've caught 4 of those wild.
case in point. ^^^ people passing off their own assumptions, then suddenly shouting clickbait . this was what Nick feels was *his* rarest catch. hence the "my" in the title saying "My rarest catch" . he never claimed, didn't say "pokemon go's rarest catch ever" in which case, people can then (at that point) be legitimately be led to believe the subject was Unown. but he did not do that.
as Jacob mentioned, this was a thrilling run for a Lapras. lapras which many in Southern California barely have encountered in the wild. personally, i had to hatch one to get it for the pokedex and EVEN THEN, still didn't see any in the wild until the water event came around and only encountered maybe 5 or so the whole week

Found one on my way to college one morning during the event. Didn't have time to go and find it. However, I was able to hatch one about two weeks ago.

Y'all need to chill. When's the last time you saw a real, and I mean real Lapras spawn. Not enhanced by Niantic, not hatched from and egg, but a real authentic Lapras spawn.

When in reality, the majority of them wouldnt even have seen one without resorting to hackz.
Granted I have thrown a ton of Lapras in my time, but I will ALWAYS be greatful for ANY real wild spawns unlike many here or so it would seem...

He has no idea that in the next 3 years there will be a safari event and a raid day just for Lapras. I miss the days of searching for rare Pokemon. Now everything is just handed to us.

i did read online that people were appearing outside the building after he moved. someone posted a picture to facebook too. i agree with Jonathan, in that, it is a good habit to blur out these kinds of details going forward. of course, anyone can go back to old videos and see for themselves but majority won't. it is kind of sad that these people won't track him to his home building when they already have high chances of seeing Nick at the Pike

I STILL don't have Lapras. If I were to ever find a Lapras I would scream. Tyrannitar is kind of easy to get because it is the evolved form of Larvitar. Lapras? No evolution.

I love these types of Trainer Tips videos, where all he does is Pokémon GO. I still don't mind Nick experimenting on his channel with different things, but for me, videos with loads of Pokémon GO content are the most enjoyable. Keep up the great work Nick!

I really hope they implement TM's in the game soon. I just hatched my first ever snorlax from my 87th 10k egg during this event and it has very good IV but has Lick/Earthquake. Very frustrating :(

Larvitar Dratini I believe so, since what you will get in an egg is decided as soon as you pick it up from a poke stop. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is what I assume how it is🤗

that's for sure, I've only hatched one so far and caught none in the wild. though the title of the video and the build up to the catch in my opinion suggest that it's a pokemón he hasn't caught so far, comes across to me as if Nick is seeking for some clicks/ attention (I have nothing against him, still a subscriber)

JasperDraws I found one on my daily bike ride home from work nothing special I have 16 of them. Nick is just late to the game as always. I got so many at the pike during the gen 1 hype when nick was wasting time in Hawaii
JasperDraws Two things. Not that I'm like an avid nick fan or whatever, but one, he played this game before it was even released (the beta). Two, he was in Hawaii with his family, and he only went because of his family.

I've never been to Hawaii I would've gone too but for someone like nick who has gone many times I would've stayed. Nick, when I caught my single Lapras, which is CP468 and crappy IVs, on the last day of the water event, in a park that has no water, I jumped up and down, cheered and cried, I was so excited. Don't care what anybody thinks!! It was an AWESOME catch, and I cheered at the screen when you got it! :D

(And you can hatch lapras from 2k's right now, which he did) AND the question mark in the thumbnail really pointed it to being an unown. Kenny Argus It was a Lapras event, spawn rates were increased so he was most likely going to catch one. But he caught his Lapras when the spawn rate was really low. So of course this is a rare spawn for him.

Jawa Lapras are extremely rare? The odds of running into one is SUPER slim. The title is there to grab attention and of course grow an audience.
If he said "rarest catch ever" and the catch happened to be a Abra. then that would be clickbait. Given how rare Lapras is and how he has NEVER caught a single wild Lapras OUTSIDE Japan and he has been playing since Day 1 I think the title holds authenticity. Some people just guessed he caught the wrong Pokémon which is completely understandable.

Jawa there is several different types of grabbing attention...
You can either grab attention to promote and grow your channel or lure people into wasting time and checking something out that gives "false information" or maybe no information at all. Part of being a content creator is staying true to your fans, growing your channel, AND having fun doing it. Nick obviously has fun doing what is doing.
He still produces QUALITY content and it has not died down and he said it was his rarest catch. Lapras is rare as I said before, if it was a Tyranitar it would have been the same story. Wikipedia isn't all that reliable since anyone can change the information on that page (not saying anyone changed that definition) but just for future reference.
Nick please do a trainer tips vid on how you smoke weed when playing Pokémon go.
