I've resorted to sorting through my box first, starring the pokémon I plan to use. Then enter the gym selection screen and sort by favourites. 12 clicks to set up the team every time after that.

I've been saying almost since day one that we should be able to have some kind of "team slots". So, for example, say you start off with 3 team slots. You can build your teams at any time, pokemon can be picked in multiple teams to maximise your options, so instead of having to choose 6 pokemon every single time you enter a battle scrolling up and down forever you just have to pick your team from your slot list. You should be able to name each team for easy sorting. They could have additional team slots available to purchase in the store for pokecoins, too, if you need more with a max of 10 team slots or whatever. It would be so much better. ;___;
Yeah, I agree. Most of the time I don't really bother because how long it takes. A way to sort by Type would be great. They have sort by CP, number and name (A-Z) but no type.

I'm looking forward to the gym rework and hopefully PVP battling will come out soon, but I have a suggestion for an update that would be really great: add an option to sort your pokemon into folders, so you can sort them by move or type or anything you want (ie pokemon for prestiging, pokemon for battling, pokemon for defending a gym).
It's annoying to have to go through all your pokemon of the same species to find which one has the right moveset. That high CP Vaporeon you have might have a terrible moveset, but your lower CP one might have hydro pump. Plus some pokemon have moves that don't belong to their type, so that can be confusing. It takes forever to scroll through your pokemon when you're deciding which ones to battle a gym with. This is something that would probably be super easy to add to the game, and I'm sure people would really appreciate it. Plus it would make it way easier to organize your pokemon, which would be super helpful if you have a lot of them.
If you agree this would be a great feature to add, like this comment so Nick can see it! If he could talk about it in a video we'd be way more likely to get this included in an update since Niantic definitely watches his videos.
I love the folder idea. In fact, I made the same suggestion a while ago. Alternatively, add a sortable text field the user may put a name or number to group the mon.
Great idea. A temporary workaround is to change the Pokémon names to their moveset. I know what they are based on pictures. I change is to "2X WATER" or 'Bullet Solar'. It's not the best but it works. Also no one can see your name in gyms so you don't have to worry about them knowing your moveset before they fight it

If you have 3 candies for a rare Pokemon with three stages that takes 5km to find a candy, it will only take 21.61 km a day to get enough candies.
Get out there and walk those km to evolve that one Mareep or Larvitar you have!

I hate that you have to be a certain distance away from a gym to be within range and you actually stop on the exact location unless it's open, you'll drift. Once you were inside a gym's range to battle, the game should lock you in so you can drift out
Nick! There is one way to prep for the event. Before the event starts, make sure you walk over 3/4 of the distance for your current buddy, but less than the whole, and you'll immediately get three candies upon the start of the event!
If anyone has any questions about this, feel free to leave them as a reply. It can get sorta confusing.
I once saw an Valor-gym that only had eeveelutions in it, and no repeats either. Sure, it was taken down shortly after I added a pokemon of my own to it but it was a pretty funny thing to see.

Annalouisa Lopez I just caught my first Gengar a while ago. I was 5 candy away from evolving it. It was so random, it was during the day at a place where evolutions don't really ever spawn. Didn't use to, anyway.

What will happen if I have a buddy larvitar at 3 km currently walked and the event starts? Will it then reset my 3 km or give me candy and reset or what? Pls upvote. Pretty important question.

5km to 1 larvitar candy. During the event, the walking distance shrinks to a fourth of the original distance. 1.25km to 1 larvitar candy.
You have 3km at the moment. So 3km/1.25km = 2 and 0.5km remaining. You will be awarded with 2 larvitar candies and have 0.5km towards your next 1.25km.
Wrong this is not a decreased distance event , it is a increased candy for buddys, you still have to walk 5km but you will get 4 candys for it , big big difference

Umm tyranitar is rock type... I don't know if I missed something. I know you put tyranitar in the thumbnail but when you were listing rock types u didn't mention tyranitar or it's evolutions.

For example, Dratini can be found in water biomes (even though it's not a water type) and were spawning at the start of the water festival event. They were then removed, which most trainers assumed was due to their rarity and popularity for gym defender candy.
Does anyone know about corsola? its a rock/water type like kabuto and omanyte. Would it be getting a increase in spawns in its region zone?

as far as speeding up picking teams, i really would love for there to be a way for more organization of your pokemon storage. for example, customizable folder options to have your pokemon organized so that you can group them in whatever way makes it easier for you.

same method as botting? if you can only power your pc while pedalling your bike, and it only moves where you move, then sure.
How is it botting? It's just a more convenient Go+. Nick said it in the video, the Go plus can do the same thing if you want it to.
Botting = GPS spoofing = catching pokémon in otherwise potentially inaccessible locations e.g. no network areas.
Go-tcha = glorified go+ = you still have to take those legs and adventure.

When it comes to gym battles, I personally wish you could have presets for teams of 6 or even to be able to search by type because I to, hate scrolling and finding and selecting every pokemon each session I have to train or take down gyms. :)

Everyone cares about the money, but this is the one streamer who almost NEVER uses clickbait strategies, and doesn't make half assed content like other prominent youtubers for example mystic7 who literally begs for people to comment and has ads running in the middle of his content.
I have only ever seen ONE Kabuto, one Larvitar and one Onix from an egg about 9 months ago until a nest appeared recently. I have never seen an Aerodactyl either so this event is a good idea

aerodactyl was literally my first egg hatch, glad I'm not stuck wandering about looking for one of those during this event...
I am excited for the event - but I am headed to Tampa this weekend specifically for Heracross & Corsola. I hope that the event does not make them spawn less , I am only in town for 3 days. Corsola is water/rock so I might see an increase.
i'd like if Niantic added an option so you could make a team beforehand. Like a tab inside your pokestorage where you can add pokemon into a lineup for battling and also rename it. As an example, you make a team that is good against rock, ground and water. Then you just have to choose that team in a tab in the gym. Of course you should be able to modify it while in the gym aswell as outside the gym. But it would be less time consuming and efficient.
yabbadde while there are times where preselected squads are useful, mostly gyms consist of random type pokemon from bottom to top. The best solution is therefore to make selecting teams faster and easier. Picking up on others' ideas are such as,
- Allowing a team of less than 6 to battle
- Drag and drop method where during selection, the 6 slots are at the top and you can scroll through the pokemon list, dragging and dropping pokemon into any slot. Using this method to also shuffle order of pokemon and remove pokemon from squad (maybe drag to dustbin or other lol).
- Allow sorting list by most frequently used for gyms. Maybe separate sort options for battling and prestiging.
- Also allow sorting by type. Dual typing mons shall appear in both type lists.
Here's to hoping at least some of the above is implemented in some way. Makes squad selection much more intuitive and swifter.
the autocath mode is actually good so people dont play while driving. even though the game tells you not to play while driving, but you know people don'tccare about it
YEEEEESSSSS! Finally, they changed bullet punch's animation :'D. I'm tripophobic, had to transfer all my pokes with that attack because I could just simply not had them in my box, couldn't use them at gyms, nor fight at gyms that had Machamps, and my squad members couldn't use them either when they were fighting alongside me. So this is awesome!
Out of the 6 mons im missing, steelix and tyranitar are 2. With more items dropping, im really hoping for a metal coat and with increased larvitar spawns and 4x buddy candy, i should get pretty close to get tyranitar. So im really excited

for gym rework it would be fun if you could select number of pokemons to battle 1,2,3,4,5 or full six or sellect team for max prestige/type based
6:49 Yes! I've been saying this for a while. Especially for those of us who battle level 10 gyms regularly it's incredibly tedious.
My suggestion to Niantic would be to add in custom preset lineup groups, so you can quickly grab a lineup appropriate for different gym situations.
You could even set preset lineups for effective attackers or defenders for different types.
Example: an Ice-type attacker lineup preset including my top 2 Lapras, a Cloyster, Dewgong, and maybe a Piloswine. That way I can just grab the lineup instead of hand picking each one every time.
Also it would be very handy for training as I have a specific lineup that I regularly use for training

How about this for team selection. Where you have the button to favourite a pokemon, add a 'sword' and 'shield' option too (you can have one pokemon in sword, shield *and* favourite, of course). When attacking an enemy gym the default will always pick sword pokemon over all others, even a 10cp pidgey. When prestiging a gym it will default pick shield pokemon above everything else. It will also stop you accidently putting sword/shield pokemon into gyms, and put them top of the list when you enter the revive/heal screens.
This definitely looks better than the grass event lol I've only caught one lavitar so far!! I wish they would slowly introduce more shinies though. the shiny magikarp release really brought a lot of hype to the game

Yes! I live in NJ and we don't get ANY rock types here! We just get grass, bug, poison and flying types. Now I can finally complete my pokedex! I want a fighting type pokemon event next.

i live in a rock biome and literally am surrounded by ryhorns and geodudes but am still super excited for this event ^_^
i was also catching cool pokemon yesterday, found a larvatar hitmonlee and a cloyster within 15 mins
I think the biggest problem with auto catch is if I came upon something rare, like a Snorlax, and the thing is going to have a pretty high chance of losing it. Or maybe something I want to use a pinap on, I'll get an error if I click on it in game, as the device will be trying to catch it automatically. I want to decide if I want to use it or not.
