    This was BY FAR the best video for changing out this transfer case. Clear communication, thoroughness on showing steps, good camera angles and lighting.

    Great post. I will say I was able to pull the transfer case without removing the rear transmission support using a shallow 15mm 3/8 drive socket, 3" extension and flex head ratchet on a 2000 with a 5.3L gas engine.

    If I may...15 Sierra. Humming while driving. Did wheel bearings, new calipers and brackets, pads in rear. My neighbor said my transfer case is fried cause I cannot get it to go into anything but 2 wheel. And I drove by him, he said the hum was mid point of my truck. Thoughts? Thank you

  • @dinofalabrino8522

    I bet the reason why that's dry was the pump inside was rubbing against the case, and wore through, leaking fluid, little by little. Common problem
    with NP transfer cases.

      No they’re not, your transfer case has a tag on it with a number , you need to find one with the same number , usually a small circular red and white tag

      @@Caseb711 Thanks. I ended up figuring it out after watching some videos. My case housing cracked and I needed to find a replacement and wanted to make sure different cases would work. I got lucky and found an entire working transfer case (supposedly) for $100 on marketplace that matched my 246 case #

      Probably not like on his he got plenty of hand room the old model trucks got less hand room and more shit right in the way the plate under his trasfer case is the same though on the 98 his frames a little different though and mufflers who put headers on ours fucked it up cause that pipes in my way and all in the way of taking out the spark plugs

    I had to cut my bolts for my transmission mount 😂 mines an 09 Silverado and the bolts were horizontal instead of vertical. The exhaust is right next to it so it didn’t have room to go all the way out and would have to take off the exhaust which I didn’t want too and luckily I found some extra old bolts and used the same nuts.

    • @coltsman2765
      @coltsman2765 Год назад

      A little late but i had the same issue but just jacked the exhaust up enough to slip the bolt out then once down i flipped it around and put it back in on the other side

    How similar is this to a 2007 Yukon?

    • @kentonbrewer3232
      @kentonbrewer3232 Месяц назад

      I'm not absolutely for sure on this, but i think it would be very similar. Pretty sure they basically just redesigned the body and kept this same platform for 2007-2010 or whenever that was.

    Are the milwaukee tools your using 12 or 18 volt ?

    • @razzle1245
      @razzle1245 2 года назад +2

      the gun looks like a 18 volt. the 12 volts are the smaller batteries. the 18 volts usually have the bulkier batteries. It also says M18 on the battery which is their 18V series of tools. :)
