The original matrix series was groundbreaking. The music and the action scenes was iconic. This movie isn't, and a lot of people just see it as a cheap knockoff. I personally liked it, because it was true to the other part of the Matrix that I really liked which was the philosophy and arguing about what it all means. Ironically, the hate for the movie kind of proves the movie's point. Nostalgia is another form of control, which is ruthlessly used by big corporations to mess with our memory of the past in order to convince us to buy their products (like the Matrix sequel in the movie is a knockoff of the Matrix game that Neo created from his memories of the original Matrix), which the same thing the Analyst is doing in the new Matrix, and which is the same thing that Warner Brothers did to cash in on people's nostalgia for the original movies. The hate is people feeling manipulated, and just like the sliver in the mind in the original Matrix, is the recognition of another system of control to break free from.
@@漢字の準備 No, utterly wrong. I gave this movie a chance and it shat on every aspect of what made the other movies good. I think Matrix Resurrections serves as the beginning of a potential Matrix sequel trilogy. Neo returns to the Matrix and then gets out of the Matrix, just like in the original Matrix film.
@@ESTERZEOFF I mean it was released on HBO max in addition to theaters. I don’t know how many people streamed it but I wouldn’t be surprised if a high number preferred to stream it than see it in theaters when the Omicron variant surge was happening. Maybe there will be another 2, I hope there will be since I love the series but this film ended nicely so they don’t need to make more if they don’t want to.
I just realized something…. The reason it looks more “cheap” is because the Machines no longer posses the same resources they did back then. Neo’s truce caused power shortages due to the large humans wanting to get out and leaving. Said by the Analyst himself, reconstruction of Neo and Trinity’s corpses wasn’t cheap. Thats why their pods look more clumsy, over the top complicated since they are scarce of energy and resources and the reason both Neo and Trinity have more plugs now.
This movie had its issues, but I enjoyed what it was going for. And I'm just glad it undid the ho-hum ending of the original trilogy and reset the franchise back to basics. I always disliked how unceremoniously Neo and Trinity exited _Revolutions,_ so I like the fact they're back, convoluted though the explanation may be.
How has the matrix series answered the question posed by Morpheus in the first film: 'what is real?' without electrical signals to the brain, how can human beings tell what is real? If those signals are hijacked, as in the films, how do humans tell what is real?
@Lauren Lewis so question everything people. Such a lack of knowledge we miss out everyday of all the knowledge we don't know under our noses. Also how to know now that we're in bathtubs preserved by drowning😴.

Compare this awakening with the one in M1. Plot aside, only from a technical standpoint, and M1 is so much better. The cinematography, the montage, the rithm, the score, the color grading, even the camera positioning. Looks like this movie was rushed and unisnpired, whereas M1 was made with intense passion and meticulous detail in every single shot.
I agree. The digital cinematography made everything look overlit and fake, honestly looks like a made for TV movie with a slightly higher budget. Hollywood needs to start going back to 35mm
@@NathanDrakeTheGreat agreed. Even the color grading is all wrong: the machines “red” looks orangey therefore un-menacing. The blacks are washed out therefore the environment is less dark. I can go on…
What was the thing in neo’s mouth for? I’m guessing it was for oxygen, but like Damn, the whole situation looks terrifying, anyone mind explaining to me what was happening to Neo when he woke up?
There were many great instances in the movie that makes you hold on to and speculate further but the problem is that the writing of the film has loose ends. This movie had the potential to be a great comeback but the execution felt kinda lazy ..To be honest the movie is not that bad but I didn't enjoy the action sequences but the interesting aspect of the film was the drama and the protagonists conflict to really comprehend the nature of reality. Its a shame the makers didn't use this concept to form a complex and fresh plot for the matrix. The actors were good though
They don't. Definitely not "infinitely" worse, whatever that means, anyway. I think you are mistaking visual fidelity with creative direction. The scene in the original had a horror vibe to it, most of which came from not knowing what the heck was going on. The scene in the video wouldn't have been able to recreate that even if the director wanted to, so they didn't.
Because the tone is bad.. So many modern films don’t have a good tone.. They focus on the mood and the graphics, making sure all the players get equal screen time and there’s race representation to consider, feminism, etc etc, but in all that they seem to forget the tone.. How it makes the audience Feel is ultimately so important, but when there’s so much to think about the audience can’t effectively become emerged in the moment..
Second time is a blast Neo!. Haven't watched the new one yet. Watching all the old Matrix movies back first. I think they should've left it alone...looks like it could be a bit of a turkey this "re-telling" don't you?.
Because audiences were already shocked by the original moment 22 years prior. This is a sequel and the way they show a scene like this is different than when you try to show it for the very first time.
Hollywood is so bankrupt of ideas they’re literally recycling iconic scenes from iconic movies of yesterday because they struggle to do so now. Not to say there are no original movies that come out, but it’s just not the same.

The dialogue, the choreography, the character building, the tone...none of what was present in the originals was here in this one. It was a hate letter to the fans and a parody of itself with no passion, out to bastardize everything established before.
None of that "tbh you need 200 IQ to enjoy this" Reddit bullshyte is going to convince anyone that this was a good movie, Matrix-wise or even as a movie in general. People can have opinions, but saying "people are wrong, this is a masterpiece" goes into clown levels of shyte hot takes LMAO.
@@tritonk1759 For the masses Reloaded was a meh, but yes its a masterpiece but we have to consider that matrix 3 is a continuation of reloaded.
I think Matrix Resurrections serves as the beginning of a potential Matrix sequel trilogy. Neo returns to the Matrix and then gets out of the Matrix, just like in the original Matrix film.
They didn't earn lot of money,
meaning there won't be any sequals.
@@ESTERZEOFF thank god
@@JakeStaffin exactly. I wanted to see it in theatres? But the theatres closed where I live, so I had no choice but to stream it.
@@JakeStaffin may be TV series would be better: a new story with cameos from the original
for me this was the best scene of the whole film, and it's basically just a rehash of Matrix 1 lol
Maybe that's why...
@@khymaaren that’s his point bud. Y’all are on the same page lol
What john wick is doing here.
Right? They couldn't get Keanu to ditch the Wick look?
I just realized something…. The reason it looks more “cheap” is because the Machines no longer posses the same resources they did back then. Neo’s truce caused power shortages due to the large humans wanting to get out and leaving. Said by the Analyst himself, reconstruction of Neo and Trinity’s corpses wasn’t cheap. Thats why their pods look more clumsy, over the top complicated since they are scarce of energy and resources and the reason both Neo and Trinity have more plugs now.
"Wake up, Samurai!"
I bet Neo's having major deja vu
Tracer : ikr
Whoa the robots tat are in charge those power plants had some upgrades. The matrix is known to create nightmares.
You know the new matrix is gonna be bad when keanu didnt even bother to get a neo haircut
Remember when this scene was good? Yeah, me too.
Only in the trailer
This movie had its issues, but I enjoyed what it was going for. And I'm just glad it undid the ho-hum ending of the original trilogy and reset the franchise back to basics. I always disliked how unceremoniously Neo and Trinity exited _Revolutions,_ so I like the fact they're back, convoluted though the explanation may be.
I still love the original scene the most.
I don't even know
You think it's all in your brain and its not! It's all in your stomach! And thats connected to another you in a another universe which is connected to your eyes which are connected to your soul which is on Pluto! All at the same time! It's true because I said it's true! How do you know I'm in your head right now and I want your mom! And pancakes taste great when you put jelly on them with toothpaste breath and a glass of orange juice !
@Lauren Lewis Could you explain how one can connect to the divine?
@Lauren Lewis I'm just asking because I've been feeling a connection lately with something bigger than me. That's all.
This is Matrix 1 again but ina shitty way.
Agree!!!
@@AMB666 I don't c how anybody can like this piece of crap 🤮
Nice try lana! Thats a great matrix parody
I can't tell, is this the actual film or is it a cheap fan film with deep fake?
They got him out easier then just tapping with a phone call. Amazing
Back at it again I see😏😏😏😏
Compare this awakening with the one in M1.
I can go on…
After watching Matrix 4, you realize the Wachowaki sisters have a lot to learn from their brothers
@@Alexa-rz7zo Lol the joke went RIGHT over your head ;P

I'll only watch the Matrix 6. I haven't seen any of the others.
Just like the first movie he wake up in the pod
What was the thing in neo’s mouth for? I’m guessing it was for oxygen, but like Damn, the whole situation looks terrifying, anyone mind explaining to me what was happening to Neo when he woke up?
Theoretically is the tube that deliver oxygen and nutrient to Neo.
When you order a Matrix DVD from Wish
When he wakes up is so like the first one
I know this isn't as intense as the first time, but the soundtrack here does this scene justice
That thumbnail ayoooooo!
And when it came out of his mouth, it wiggles all weird lol 😂
*NOT KEANU FROM THE BACK AS HE REACHES THROUGH THE MIRROR*
bruh wtf is that, the robot looked better in the original matrix and that came out like 25 years ago XD
They can’t have even one sentinel watching 😂??
There were many great instances in the movie that makes you hold on to and speculate further but the problem is that the writing of the film has loose ends. This movie had the potential to be a great comeback but the execution felt kinda lazy ..To be honest the movie is not that bad but I didn't enjoy the action sequences but the interesting aspect of the film was the drama and the protagonists conflict to really comprehend the nature of reality. Its a shame the makers didn't use this concept to form a complex and fresh plot for the matrix. The actors were good though
I like the original version better than the remake
John Wick has entered the Matrix
For years I can not understand why machines decided to cover humans with Jell-O .
@@MrMusicGuy1980 They should eat it and not swin in it .
@@goodstufffromchina6236 Watch them liquefy the dead so they could be fed intravenously to the living
I guess the machines just like choking neo 😂
It's, I think, to trigger a (false) death response from the Matrix systems so it would release Neo to conserve resources.
Thé first one hadn’t much money and technology stuff… but they made a better movie so far !
Do I remember this scene from the first Matrix Franchise.
How is it that the effects here look infinitely worse than a movie made 23 years ago?!???!!?!?
It was supposed to scare us in the first movie. In this one, it’s supposed to be familiar and not scare us.
@@JakeStaffin and that’s an excuse???
@@JakeStaffin wtf
If neo had a nickle for every time this happened he would have two nickles which isnt a lot but strange that it happened twice.
How come this is looking so much cheaper than the original scene from 1999, god damn it!
Who else went through a mirror

What's on the other side of that mirror him!!!!!

Why does Neo keep waking from a nightmare? The Machines turned a dream machine into a nightmare.

Second time is a blast Neo!. Haven't watched the new one yet. Watching all the old Matrix movies back first. I think they should've left it alone...looks like it could be a bit of a turkey this "re-telling" don't you?.
This gave me so much nostalgia from when neo wakes up in the first film it’s not as good but I still loved it
He finally looks like a 50 something guy
I'm gonna pretend this never existed.
This movie should not be considered any kind of cannon. This was just a cheap remake of the original

You member? Yeah I member.
Neo: Where Am I!
Good morning from the metaverse we hope u slept comfortably 😊.
Originals were still better.
They somehow made this scene less visceral and more comical than the original.
Because audiences were already shocked by the original moment 22 years prior. This is a sequel and the way they show a scene like this is different than when you try to show it for the very first time.
@@HorridCrow It was just lazy copy-paste, you're overthinking it.

is this a cosplay of a really awesome movie made in the 90's ?
Would be funny if he said "this gonna hurt again"
i'm not sure if keanu wore a bald wig or they really shaved his head
I'm sure the John Wick director would be very unhappy if he shaved his head.😂
1:21 what the hell is that?!
Hollywood is so bankrupt of ideas they’re literally recycling iconic scenes from iconic movies of yesterday because they struggle to do so now. Not to say there are no original movies that come out, but it’s just not the same.
