I was on a crossroad in my life some time ago and I had really tough time when I heard that song - and the message "love conquers all" came like a beam of hope for me. I felt inspired to get a tattoo saying Amor vincit omnia,which means pretty much the same in Latin,and that great song is thus forever sealed on my skin...and my heart :)
What a moving song!!! I love it. JTL is a poser, I can´t stand him ( sometimes he moves me to laugh) but I admit he did a great job by Blackmore´s side everywhere. He is the singer for Rainbow, definitely ( provided that Rainbow is re-united some day)
I remember this song being released to no fanfare in late 1990. The guys don't too excited here as they were probably told by the record label to have a big ballad to release as a single. But considering ballads by any rock group were scoring during that period, I'm surprised this wasn't a hit at all.
Nope, pretty sure it was the Mark II Purple lineup except Turner on vocals. Turner was replaced with Gillian on the next album at the request of the record label (no Gillian, no contract). Too bad, this was a great album.
It's one of the best songs of DP. Slaves and Masters it's my favorite album of DP (after Machine Head, Perfect Strangers of In Rock). Great performance.

oh man... this song is like everything to me... wasted sunsets is good too, but this ballad song is far too good. MrBluesmanJunior the whole album Slaves and Masters is quit different from the original style. Is the way bands develop, then the final song in my opinion where DP showed all their tallend and experience is Perfect Strangers.
