This frustrates me. Basically the way they are phrasing all this rear camera related topics is not correct.
"Apple says the iPhone 15 Pro Max has seven camera lenses: Macro, 13mm, 24mm, 28m, 35mm, 48mm and 120mm" (Full Frame equivalent focal length; apple didn't mention that), please; there are clearly only three rear cameras on the 15 Pro Max.
Ultrawide (UW) at 13mm, Primary camera; Wide (W) at 24mm, and Telephoto (TP) at 120mm (thanks to the new tetra-prism design)
The Macro is simply close focusing capabilities on the UW.
28mm and 35mm is basically a digital crop of the primary 24mm perspective that is smart as it is still able to shoot at 24MP via software interpolation (for lack of a better term).
48mm is yet again a smart digital crop of primary.
There's got to be a better way to explain all of this without using the current terms Apple is using...

    0.5x - 5x = 10x optical zoom range

I'm trying to make sense of that but in that case if you added all the zoom options together we would still land under 10x right? Even so, the wording seems very confusing.

@@metagamers they still shouldnt advertise that as 10x lmao

@@GibusGang Agreed, to me it seems misleading. However, even if I add all the optical zoom ranges together I still only get to 8.5x so I'm missing something or something is off here.
