Sometimes, it's hard blending those other Plug ins and other keyboard sounds. These sounds blend well done in the MPC world. And Zzounds, I love. What's going? I'm a fan of your channel, I have a question, can you sample and chop directly to the keys like you could on the older workstations like the Triton, the The ASR10 or EPS16? I don't want to used the pads on the MPC Key61? I'm use to the keyboards as well, I've only seen videos sampling directly to pad. If there is a way can you show us- Thanks
I have a Kronos 73 and a Fantom 7. Nothing beats my go to setup though. The Force and Modx6+. Nothing touching that combo in my opinion. Now if Akai makes a Force 61...👀
I'm new to this stuff and I keep hearing how great the workflow on the Force is compared to the MPC. Not sure how or why that is though. Something about an arranger view?
I just got it. First of all I don’t like I gotta transfer samples, and that I cannot do that wirelessly. Like Bluetooth. Secondly, I cannot connect Bluetooth headphones. Third, my iPad recognizes and will pair Bluetooth. But GarageBand won’t. The synth sounds are great, but need tweaked. And for $1500 this should have weighted keys.
The sounds are great bro, they're not clean on purpose, they're geared more to LOfi, however when I want they to sound clean, I just go into the sound parameters that I'm using and add "Color" to them, try it, I bet you'll be impressed with the results
Dope. Short comings aside, it seems like most people are generally satisfied with the MPC Key 61. As a Fantom owner, it is everything I wanted out of the pads and sequencer. That said, I am still holding out. Definitely will be watching...
@@flossondatrack8861 How do you feel about the differences in sound? So far, I like what I hear. The pads alone are enough, but no time stretching in the Fantom, is shameful.
@@VIRALBEATS360 I kind of feel guilty liking the MPC Keys61 as much as I do after spending so much on the Fantom6. I basically use them together. I run the Fantom through the MPC sequencer, because can control the Fantom, so you can get the Fantom sounds in the MPC Key.
@@VIRALBEATS360As far as the sound goes, I wouldn’t listen to some of these claims about the sounds not being good. Yes Roland has better sounds , and importantly MORE sound available, but that’s to be expected they’ve been around for decades. Akai is playing catch-up in that department. But don’t think the sounds on the MPC Key do not sound good, because you can make absolute bangers with this keyboard. It’s also a sampler so, you can either buy sample expansions from famous keyboards or just rip the sounds straight from the Keyboard you want. I ripped my ASR 10, Polybrute, Fantom6 and Roland D-50. I love my roland 6 for the sounds but the Key61 for everythin.
Once Akai make it possible for the Key 61 and My MPC live 2 Sequencers to Merge/ integrate via USB.. I’ll Replace my Arturia Controller.. I don’t want my live 2 collect dust if I purchase a 61 keys.. this way I can place my live on my turntable stand etc. and the board in the workstation stand.
Does anyone see a logically reason to replace an Akai Force with the MPC Key 61? I thought I would enjoy utilizing the 64 pads on the Force but.....not really.
Yeh! 88-keys would be dope, especially for strings and piano. Disk streaming instead of waiting for stuff to load is something that needs to happen too. That's one thing that Naitilus and Kronos does well. Not gonna lie, the MPC Keys 61 is tempting.
Hey, my question is, seeing though you already have multiple mpc’s, and the mpc key has the same sounds , why not choose a montage/Roland/ phantom over the mpc key 61 if you like the workstation feel ?
I chose the 61 because a like the MPC sequencer and work flow. I’m going to get the Fantom as well and test it out. But the key was first on my list of keyboard “workstations” 👊🏾
@@Laopedotcom Meaning a speaker on each side of the MPC 61 keyboard like MPC live II although I have a studio it would be a great all in one piece to take to someone else studio that way I can either audition my tracks to that particular artist that lookn to buy beats without connecting the keyboard to their hardware or box (computer) You cant trust everyone these days The game is cold but fair
That would be the first if they came out with a MPC keys 49 I dont know about a 25 but that would be crazy too. Never has there been a 49 or 25 key workstation stand alone

elbow, you could have bought the plug in pack and used the force, that's what i did, and i can attach the force to my 88 key korg krome. then you heard the great sounds, and have almost the same access to all the sound effects as the MPC Keys minus the strip which is an addon to the studio mpc, so you dont think they will ever do a force keyboard? any way enjoy.
Good afternoon Marcus, I need your help! I recently purchased the MPC Key 61 and it seems that the unit is defective or I’m not doing something correctly. My issue is that if I want to listen to sound thru just my headphones I have to disconnect my monitors and vice versa. I know on the X that this can be done without disconnecting anything. Is this just the way the Key 61 is or am I missing something? PLEASE HELP..there is a bridge nearby my house! LOL
🤔 this shouldn’t be happening Maurice! The 61 key headphone jack should always have sound no matter what! I will test this later but yeah it seems you may have a bad unit. Try reaching out to Akai before sending it back tho. 🙏🏾👊🏾
@@marcuselbow thank you Marcus for the info but I believe I posed my question incorrectly. What I'm trying to do is listen to each separately without having to disconnect one or the other and this is where someone suggested a monitor controller but I don't see how the controller would be doable?
@@marcuselbow yessir. You brought up something that is so true. I remember wanting an ASR-10 along with an XP-50 back in the day. It was something about having those workstations. But i wish I kept my Alesis MMT-8 and a couple of other gear. Looks like Akai is bridging the future with the past.
I don’t know what you mean by the sounds not being up to par with anything the strings in the MPC are on par with $2000 VSTs I’ve used on film scores.
