Then tragedy strikes as the Krieger gets redeployed to the front but he takes off his gas mask for the first time and lets her catch a glimpse of his smiling face. Before he goes off, she hands him a flower from her home town that he cherishes by his uniform and side. Years later, the farmgirl's homeworld gets attacked and an Imperial Guard regiment arrives to deal with the threat. Then she gets a chance to see her friend again in his officer's uniform with a flower etched into his helmet. It's against standard regulations, of course, but the commissar says it's alright.
That reminds me of classic Soviet gallows humor from World War II (especially during Operation Barbarossa): "We're winning, but the Germans are gaining ground."
Earlier in the story, he confirmed with the Munitorum that he had, in fact, been sent there on purpose. That Agriworld's gonna be a little harder to raid now, isn't it?
The thing I love so much about the Krieger in Paradise comics is that while its in no way canon, it could be, people forget 40K is a big world and it isn't all a living hell, at least not all the time.
Wait, this planet's atmosphere and (in my theory) warp presence makes everything super docile and peacefull, which means about any ork/tyranid threat will NOT be a problem (tis of course varies on circumstances)
"Were peace sings, death roars, that is a undeniable truth that the imperial worlds know, one planet could be in better conditions that even holy terra itself, for other 10 worlds being consumed by the damned, the people know it, and that makes it worst, for situations like this begs that the people dont know. ... But they do, they are not stupid, well most of them arent ... This will end bad" Commander Al-Farrar, from the Tallarn Desert Raiders Imperial Guard.
Imperial tithing is actually pretty lax as long as you give an app reason on being late. Say your plan was invaded and your industries are ruined? The administratum will give you time to rebuild. They aren’t (completely) heartless, but they do have to meet quotas in order to sustain the juggernaut, that is the imperium.
They are heartless. But for a juggernaut as big as the imperium, decentralization and laxity is the only way to not have every single 99% loyal world under siege.

The Kriegsmen have fought long and hard for a cause they would vehementaly die for...
Now here we have one with a new reason to fight...
Something to live for.
Didn't expect a killing joke reference.
I love it
The Krieger's only regret is not dying during the initial bombardment.
In life - war. There is peace in death -. In life - shame. In death - redemption
THE LAST LINES OF THE LITANY OF SELF-SACRIFICE DECLARED BY THE DEATH CORPS GUARDS BEFORE THE ATTACK
Ogryn!
“SAH!”
Do you see that abomination!
“YES SAH!”
I don’t want to!
“ON IT SAH!”
"They knew that the best way to punish a German was to put him in a nice place..."
"What's the Kriegers favorite spice?

Mustard gas"
That girl's got a lot of work ahead of her...🤣
A Krieger on a paradise world…
… either Tyranid Fleet or a Nurgle incursion is about to go down.
Always remember, Terranis holds.
That kriger is probably just now turning 26 lmao
Quite true!
@ChaoticVoicesofAndreas oldest living kriegsm
1:51 is that General Creed
He does look like him, doesn't he...
These 2 are so precious!
He was at VRAKS?!
Anyone who's anyone was at Vraks!
No this was a different one. Vraks was 17 years and it was due to a Cardinal going crazy.
This was literally "just" a 10 year bombardment cause the people stopped paying taxes.
“In the grim darkness of the far future there is more than war. There are real people there too.” Dan Abnett
The moral of the first joke is very simple, no matter how crazy you are, don't be stupid to blindly believe in people because they may eventually betray you, whether for their own benefit or simply because they want to ruin your life, no one is an injector of betrayal or practically no one
The moral of the second story is DO NOT SCREW WITH THE IMPERIUM!!!
@LordDaret the moral of the second story and in the 41st millennium tax evasion is punished by death, never stop paying the empire's taxes and remember, the emperor does not protect tax evaders

A guy that lived in a Place so rooted in war that the idea of peace and empathy shakes him in the Deeps of his Heart. So tragic Is the tale of krieg
i swear if that krieg wasnt talking about the siege of vraks then i have no idea
This is funnier than the time I saw Magness the red do a comedy show in the black library😂
:')
2:07 The Siege of Derondii in a nutshell
So she's the heretic that crossed so that's why there's a new Khorne worshiper as a character, she's an escaped heretic
:o
That reminds me of classic Soviet gallows humor from World War II (especially during Operation Barbarossa):
"We're winning, but the Germans are gaining ground."
From what I've heard, the winter claimed just as many men as the soviets!
Ah, this amazing line. "Do you see this? I don't want to." And following artillery strikes. It never gets old.
Krieg forces don't now jokes.
Alright. Where's the Nurlge's followers about to pop up?
Hopefully never!
Necronlord:*Muffled laughter from 10000ft underground.*
I would love to see more of these comics. I really like Ms. Citizen and Mr. Soldier.
There will be more!
@ChaoticVoicesofAndreas Thank you!
Trooper, you see that city?
I dont want to!
Bro?! thats some over the top commisar speak you cant help but laugh at XD bravo voice acting!
What makes you laugh, stories that make you smile. The fact she said that to a Kriegsman, she just made the funniest joke.
Civillians usually don't understand Military Humor...
As a Military Man, though, I found that really funny.
Its all fun and games until a dark eldar hunting party pulls up to that planet.
Kriegers take their humor very seriously
0:43 perfect crazed response lmao
"Just another day on the boring planet where nothing really happens"
Got me really thinking that something is going to happen.
Wait, this planet's atmosphere and (in my theory) warp presence makes everything super docile and peacefull, which means about any ork/tyranid threat will NOT be a problem (tis of course varies on circumstances)
Wonder how much until tragedy stikes... We are 40k Everybody, it will come solner or later.
Ah, another comic from Mick “Wouldn’t it be quirky if something grimdark happened to this paradise world” 19988
nope nope nope nope
Bro is Vraks veteran. Amazed he’s not gone insane from boredom lol
Even after death he was still be learning! How beautiful yet sad.
I actually remember hearing this Keigsmen battle.
Defeat, NEVER, victory YES and they left NOTHING behind.
"Were peace sings, death roars, that is a undeniable truth that the imperial worlds know, one planet could be in better conditions that even holy terra itself, for other 10 worlds being consumed by the damned, the people know it, and that makes it worst, for situations like this begs that the people dont know.
...
But they do, they are not stupid, well most of them arent
...
This will end bad"
Commander Al-Farrar, from the Tallarn Desert Raiders Imperial Guard.
No pity, no remorse, no mercy!
This kriegsman is kinda terrifying… dude’s been at this 10 years and still kickin it for the emperor…
Dunno if hes hapoy or mad he hasnt died yet
I dont know which one was the more *killing joke*
I'll see myself out
Hehehe
This got a good chuckle out of me.
Thank you!
Everyone knows that this story won't end well, so let's enjoy this while it lasts. Emperor bless our hearts for what is to come.
At the end for a moment I feared a Tyranid form would take over the flower
Imperial tithing is actually pretty lax as long as you give an app reason on being late. Say your plan was invaded and your industries are ruined? The administratum will give you time to rebuild. They aren’t (completely) heartless, but they do have to meet quotas in order to sustain the juggernaut, that is the imperium.
They are heartless. But for a juggernaut as big as the imperium, decentralization and laxity is the only way to not have every single 99% loyal world under siege.
i dont know why but my brain made a joke that i thought the Krieger would make "one day I saw my best friend Private 155 in no mans land and suddenly i didn't and i felt jealous that he went first like he always had"
What is the scariest thing in Warhammer 40k ?
A Krieg soldier who can smile
The joke she says is something the Joker says in the killing joke.
A krigesmen smiling and not in the middle of cqc fight in a trentch? Dear god he is corrupted by chaos
"I don't want to" killed me
Your entire bloodline and ancestor sins has been forgiven krieger, pelase enjoy this life while you can 😢
ww1 be like: “you see the enemy?”
“Yes sir”
“I DONT WANT TO SEE IT”
