I love that being a Nancy Wilson fan, and my Mom made me a Dinah Washington fan. I love Dinah's Time Out for Tears. Bridge Over Troubleld Water made me a lifetime Aretha Franklin fan. And hearing Nancy Wilson sing Stevie's All in Love is Fair on stage at Detroit's Masonic Auditorium sealed the deal❤
This is an under-appreciated artist! I adore her timbre, that round, compact laser beam of sound that could belt like nobody else, and her satiny, elegant ease was always near.
This channel is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for all of the historical information, videos, and commentary that you provide to share with the world. I have definitely subscribed to your channel and will catch up on all of your previous videos. Thank you again!
That Dinah Jams album might be in my top 5 favorite albums ever. Dinah is amazing and all the soloists are in crazy good form. I'd give the edge to Clark Terry though.

Your Mom was pretty hip!
@@chasesanborn thanks ☺️ I think so
I really love these kind of jazz story telling videos!
Glad to hear that. The Jazz History series attracts a small but enthusiastic following, like history in general I suppose.

At least Dinah enjoyed a bit of a hit.

It would be a hard call for me between Clifford and Clark, and kudos to Maynard for holding his own! In any case, the recording is a classic.
