Did this a couple of weeks ago, and saw absolutely nothing the whole way up, it was a bit more difficult than we thought it would be due to the weather and really wet slippery rock and slate. Be prepared, you need to concentrate on points, I remember that bit @24:00 it's the hardest bit on days when the rock is slippery, few people me included were flapping a bit when trying to scramble and water running down over hands and feet

Great vid guys! You have captured the essence of that route. Absolutely loved the confusion you had on the last bit of the scramble.... everyone feels as you did. Asking others for guidance isn't weak, it's the most sensible when the adrenaline is flowing and you're really tired. The summit is a bit of an anticlimax.... just steps, after you have mountaineered your way up 300 metres of rubble! ........... If you do the route again, instead of returning the way you have ascended, I would urge you to go down the South Ridge.... fantastically airy, but perfectly safe. Really enjoyed your personal take on it all. Thanks! and your route time of 8 hours is average...... surprising, isn't it? :)

It's not the 2nd highest mountain in the UK, it's only the 43rd on the Marilyn list, nice video which shows the actual path much better than most videos, it is a beautiful route but I think most beautiful has to be Crib Goch as it's simply breath taking, in more ways than one! But there's also a path to the left of the Watkin path called the South Ridge which is pretty epic and the ridge you pass to the right called Y Lliwedd is amazing too, those steps at the top of the Watkin path are only a few years old and make the path a little easier and safer than it used to be.

My new favourite past time is watching modern influencers giving it the biggun then getting royally humbled by nature. Whats worrying is if the weather went bad you three would have been buggered. There was a part when you said if the weather was bad it was 100% impassible then complained the watkin path looked less like a path. Peak content loved it

Hey Sean, I wasn't giving it the large I promise - It was on the start of my vlogging journey, but you're right - we didn't plan very well / at all and we defo would have been stuffed if the weather was poor. Lucky there were loads of people up there in case we did get buggered though! Glad you liked the vid mate. I'll hike some more in Summer 2025 and post!

Nice video, and bought back memories of doing the Watkin Path over 30 years go. Went up and down via the Pyg Track last Saturday, the 1st time for around 15 years, and it's a tough route for an owd fella like me at 58, but still enjoyable. Very cold at the top, but decent weather and views on the way down. Two things to add...... Why no map/compass or GPS device or at least something like AllTrails on your phone, getting lost or taking the wrong path isn't smart. Also don't drink the water, sheep often fall in and die upstream and it can cause nasty illnesses, use a camel back and carry enough water for the hike. Nice video though. 👍
