Hi John. Im checking back in after making about 75lbs of fairly good looking shot. I have a hard time keeping the outside 2 drippers going. I think my heat source is lacking. I took out those dripers and installed bolts so Im just running the 3 middle one. (plus im runnig ay some fairly cool temps yet) Now after watching this I dont think I had mine at enough of an angle. Im going to tip it up a bit more. This shot making is fun and your ladle is working great!
Your rite . I think it could be a couple of factors, air temp and heat source. What wattage is your element?. Great job non the less, dont have your ladle too steep you want at least 3 bounces on the ramp. All the best great job.
@@woodsman2433 its 1500W but Im not sure im getting that out of it. My theory is with the ladle sitting a little too flat that I have too much lead capacity for the element. If I tip it up a bit I think it will reduce the amount of lead I need to keep liquid.........Ill keep adjusting.
@@GoldCountryTrapping Considering you have only just started you are doing really well. Certainly if your element has an thermostat i would look at bypassing this if you already have not done so. Your angle looks about spot on to me. all the best John
Im looking at making a lead shot maker and was wondering if the angel of the drippers and the lip ramp have to be at a angle and can the ramp be to long or to short?
I am going to make my own pot, we will see how that goes. If you would be so kind as to measure from the center of the nozzle to the top of the deflector plate and also the depth of the deflector ramp? I would really appreciate it.
Hi Mr Woodman i bought a dipper of you a couple years ago been work fine made loads of 7 shot, just copied your pid system and and not get it to run lead just runs down the ramp want dipper in balls can you tell me what the angle of the ramp should be can i down load the instruction any ware it a great bit of kit mate just need to get this sort out your help in the matter would be great all so a price on a pair of single #6 dippers please.
