There are a couple of foundational issues driving the division. First, uneven enforcement of the rules of the denomination. If you don’t agree with the rules, then you should fight to change those rules or leave the denomination. If you aren’t going to enforce the rules, why bother having them at all. Second, and most important, is undermining the authority of the Bible, allowing one to cherry pick what you like and dislike about it. Boulder Field Why do people say we are deceived when we tell you that we are not living in the last days? Here are 10 proofs from Scripture that it is referring to the end of the Mosaic Covenant. 1. John already said his time was already the last hour. 1 John 2:18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. If it was the last hour in his time surely it cannot be the last days now. A hour is shorter than a day. 2. Jesus said it would happen in AD70. Matthew 23:35-36 so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. When he said these words, it was AD30. One generation is 40 years. It happen in AD70. It’s not our generation. It is his. 3. The day of the Lord was again the Jews not the Gentiles. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. There are no Jews who would stop the preaching of Jesus to you today. 4. Jesus never said it was a worldwide tribulation. Matthew 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: It was in the vicinity of Judea. Jerusalem. 5. What about “every eye will see him?” Revelation 1:7 “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” “Every eye shall see him” is qualified with the words “everyone that pierced him”. There is only one generation of people who pierced him. Those who lived within the generation he had gone to. Also it is a quote from: Zechariah 12:10-11 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” I want us to see what John wants you to know that the age of grace and supplication has come because of the death of Jesus. I also want you to see how this would come into fruition. See verse 11. “On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.” Note it has to do with the weeping in Jerusalem. 6. Hebrews 9:26 actually tells you the world “ended” on the cross. Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 7. The Temple existed in Jerusalem during the time of Revelation. Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. The Temple was destroyed in AD70. The angel could not have ask him to measure a temple erected for today. John is long asleep. 8. John said he was experiencing the tribulation himself. Revelation 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. When he saw the events showed to him, he was in Patmos. At the time of him writing the letter he was no longer in Patmos, he was going through the tribulation with his fellow believers. 9. Josephus who was there in AD70 wrote this. Josephus (A.D. 75) - Jewish Historian “Besides these [signs], a few days after that feast, on the one- and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities. Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, “Let us remove hence” (Jewish Wars, VI-V-3). “A supernatural apparition was seen, too amazing to be believed. What I am now to relate would, I imagine, be dismissed as imaginary, had this not been vouched for by eyewitnesses, then followed by subsequent disasters that deserved to be thus signalized. For before sunset chariots were seen in the air over the whole country, and armed battalions speeding through the clouds and encircling the cities.” (rendered in Chilton) 10. Paul himself says Sinai is the city of Jerusalem at that time. Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. That Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70. It was destroyed to make way for the New Jerusalem. This was even stated in Hebrews. Hebrews 13:14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Jerusalem (at that time) was about to be destroyed.
Boulder Field So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you You can't get more equal than treating everyone else the same way you want to be treated.
Boulder Field Being in the light has nothing to do with being religious or serving God. It just simply means being a new creation in the new covenant. The bible speaks about the law and the instruments in the tabernacle of Moses as the shadows. These shadows points to a reality. This reality is Christ. If you believe in Jesus, you are in Christ. You are in this reality. You therefore move from the shadows into the light. The bible also tells us in the Amplified version that you are the very sanctuary of the Holy Ghost. You are not the outer court nor the inner court, but the very sanctuary meaning the Holy of holies of the Holy Spirit. In the holy of holies, there is no window. The only light comes from the glory above the ark. You are that holy of holies. Christ lives in you. You are no longer of the law and its tabernacle. They are merely shadows. You are now in the reality they point to. You are in Christ and Christ in you. That is how you enter the light and how the light of all men makes you the light of the world. When you enter the New Covenant.
Boulder Field Whenever you tell someone that even the unbelievers are forgiven on the cross, people will call us universalists. They then ask you if so and so are saved. Firstly when Jesus died they were no believers with the possible exception the thief. Then people quote you a series of scripture of how you need to believe in order to be saved. Yet they don’t understand that it was a period of transition of covenants. That message of faith was necessary because during that time the people needed to be saved from the coming wrath of God. However the wrath of God was poured out in AD70 and has since been extinguished. Even Jesus said you will never see a similar tribulation. So when you read what believers tell you they constantly tell you: you are in Adam, you need to repent, you need to delivered from Satan and God’s judgment when you die. Here is my question. We have come to understand God’s wrath was appointed towards the generation Jesus came to. That wrath was visited upon that generation is the great tribulation which climaxed in AD70. So we are already saved from the wrath of God. We also know now that Jesus took the sins of the world away once and for all on the cross. We also know he took the sins of everyone. Including the unbelievers. That’s because when Jesus died there were no believers except the thief and the Roman soldier who said “truly this was the Son of God”. So we are already saved from sin. After much observation we now know that we know that the old covenant being the Law is totally abolished in AD70 when the temple was destroyed. The Levitical priesthood also ended. So did the old city of God Jerusalem. So we are already saved from the Law. We also know Satan has been stripped of his authority. He has been cast down. After AD70 he is under our feet. When Jerusalem fell he lost his dominion over us. So we are already saved from the Devil. As mentioned earlier the wrath of God was something that was attributed to the Jews of that time and when Jesus spoke about hell fire it was about Jerusalem in AD70 where millions were killed and that city was burnt to the ground for a few months. We have already been saved from hell. So now when we tell people you have to believe Jesus in order to be saved, what are we actually trying to be saved from? If there is nothing left for God to save us from, why do we say that it is universalism when we say that unbelievers need no saving except what was wrongly taught to them?
When the day arrives to kneel before the throne. Our king will enlighten you with the truth. Whatever it may be, it will only belong to you and the Lord. 5:10 fine. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. The UMC is dealing with this, because the homosexuals all ran to the UMC when most others said "no". The UMC is the last to take them in, and it's a supply and demand thing.
We desperately need God back in the building. We need the transformational power of the Holy Spirit that John Wesley knew. This is all so sad to see people trying to fulfill a Christian life in human strength while the devil is breaking apart a historic denomination. But this is not anything new, I remember being at a methodist church who had a gay warship leader and it was kept hush hush. God is saying choose this day who you will serve. Power belongs to our God, power to set free from unholy appetites and addictions.
I disagree, in the Bible a man went to the girls father and payed a dowry. We are not to worship our wives. Also government marriage license is not even biblical.
@@ryanehlis426 That's why there has to be an iron wall between church and state. We can all believe in what we believe as far as the world beyond this one, but it isn't right for religious ideology to form the basis for legislation that affects civil society, and I'm sure you don't want secular philosophy to have jurisdiction over your Biblical practices. That's totally understandable. The solution is to just keep them away from each other.
A F this insanity with the COVID 19 fake news stupidity is a good example. The state stops at church doors! We have seen pastors arrested for refusing to close there churches. The ones that did close bowed to fear and intimidation from the state.
What these people are conveying about this denomination, tells me they are NOT preaching against these sexual sins!!it will continue to decline if they don't take a stand against all sin, period!!!
14:09 I think this position truly ignores the "fallen world" element of being an Evangelical...there is no "perfect world" in this life, and while it's likely true that homosexuality is a kind of "brokenness" so is a sexual heterosexual life. When we are one with Christ, sex should be the furthest thing from our minds...but we are a fallen creation, we disobeyed God's Word (as straight people, if you accept the story of Adam and Eve) and fell short of the glory of God. Now, we live in a world where sexual orientation ISN'T some bipolar, binary notion anymore. The Holy Spirit guides these things, it would be false prophesy to suggest otherwise. To deny homosexual couples (and clergy) their own share of "holiness" is antithetical to a faith-based Christian church: conservative Methodists MUST have faith that God will guide homosexual couples in healing from their "sin" (i.e. their desire for sexual relationships) in the same way that heterosexual couples must be guided to remain as chaste and as celibate as is necessary to reach the Kingdom of Heaven. It's deeply dishonest to suggest that committed homosexual relationships are inherently more sinful than committed heterosexual relationships: we ALL live in sin.
Weaponizing scripture is not the way to serve God. The Bible is not infallible. Thousands of manuscripts exist; some have been deliberately altered. Scholars argue as to what the original language meant. As late as 1946, the ancient manuscripts were interpreted in a new way, different from the way they had been. The Bible has changed; church polity has changed. We can keep changing; we can continue the process started in Jerusalem, when Paul and Peter argued about whether Gentiles had to subject themselves to Jewish law (since there was no bible then) in order to be Christians. God had already showed them that their ancient enemies, the Samaritans, could be Christians. God had already showed them that eunuchs--those who had been mutilated and were considered excluded from God's grace--they could be Christians, too. God even showed Peter in a vision that Gentiles could be Christians. What if God hadn't finished speaking? Who else would God have extended grace to? How can we take a collection of books that was compiled by humans, and interpreted by humans in different ways over the millennia to suit different human needs, and use that to exclude anyone from the church? I could be wrong. That's part of the joyous risk of being a Christian. Any of us could be wrong. But when I stand before God at the end of my life, I want to be able to say that I earnestly meant to be doing God's will, and that I erred on the side of love. I trust God's grace and forgiveness.
you have perfectly responded. it's not about the law, it's about love. my pentecostal pastor welcomed blacks into our mississippi church in 1960. an incredible witness for me. i stand with you.
Who's being denied grace and welcome? I'm a Methodist, I love you, and you are welcome at our UMC. Just who are you calling out as not offering grace? Now it's possible that you are interested in allowing others to behave in a manner that brings division and disruption by forcing fellow Christians to accept an activist-agitator definition of sin and to even celebrate something they consider sin. Not accusing you, just responding to your tone. Every UMC I know extends welcome to all but deliberate disruption and disorder is a behavior that isn't welcome. So which are you supporting? A Christian seeking to make disciples or an agitator-activist seeking to force others to accept their definition of sin? ruclips.net/video/9SleWi5dV6c/видео.html
mrs3Quator You are deeply misinformed about Christian History and Scripture. In 1946, what was the new interpretation that had never been seen before? While languages have changed, interpretations have done an impeccable job keeping up with them. The New Testament is the singularly most attested to collection in all of history. Among the thousands upon thousands of manuscripts that exist, only a few significant differences exist. Of those few, the vast majority of others attest so strongly against those differences, that it is easy to see the copy. This leaves only a few (I believe 7 is the current count) of passages that have genuine questions around their verbage and origin. The story of Jesus rescuing the woman caught in adultery is the largest one of those differences. I'm sure you would rightfully exclude the West Boro Baptists shown in the video from your church if they continued in this manner. So all of this talk about "the sin of exclusion" is sound and fury, as Paul, Peter, and Jesus Himself all gave clear instructions on when someone must be removed from the body of the Church. It's right and holy to not be quick to do such a thing, and to even hate that it must be done. But for the sake of the love of your other brothers and sisters, for the love of God, and even for the love of those who have been removed, it sometimes must be done. LGBTQ people in the UMC have never been excluded from the table of the Lord, from worship, or from serving. Non-chaste people are excluded from the pastorate, but this is true regardless of sexuality. However, divisive people, contentious people, those who will stop at nothing to change Christian traditions recklessly and without the blessing of leadership, such people should not even ranked among the church according to its Founder and Lord. The political movement that appropriates the LGBTQ label had indeed done that.
My father and grandfather were Methodist (me too!) AND my recently ancestry showed me my Dad came from a long line of (a couple hundred years ( Methodist ministers). They are ALL rolling in their Graves now.
Authenticating sin is NOT obedience to God. Jesus said marriage is one man and one woman. These religionists actually think they are MORE moral than the one who DEFINES morality
God loves all his children but he will hold us all accountable for the life we choose to live. The downfall of the United Methodist church saddens me and to see those who vow to lead others to Christ based on God’s word, but through your interpretation of try and justify your life choices.
Maybe the tent is just too big to include everyone, and everybody's ideas. When you go outside of scripture to accomplish this, you have grown too big for your theology.
30:30 and that's why women are not permitted to hold ecclesiastical authority. And since the UMC caved on that issue, why is it any surprise that they're fighting on this one? See 36:44 for a case in point.
It is interesting to note . . . 1) That "disobedience" is only applied to the denomination and never to God's holy Law. 2) Godly ministers get no musical background and shorter time. 3) God's word on the issue of sexual perversion is never quoted.
II Timothy 3 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
it would be nice to quote Gods opinion rather than play piano music and say "people are hurting ...and need your help ...those people ...need to get their way"
um ... leviticus says lying with a male a womanly bed was against Israelite religion and is irrelevant today. 1 cor and 1 tim say that male-bedders were doing something so hurtful that it incompatible with life in God's kingdom. Bible says nothing against loving relationships.

Each and every human being- all mankind were born into a world where temptation..evil...and SIN exists. We are not perfect...not even close..we all have deep rooted imperfections- each type of TEMPTATION and EACH kind of human desire is not the same for each person...being born with an attraction to same gender people..is a form of brokenness- a very REAL & emotional feeling- but it is a temptation of our human flesh & sinful nature as men & women on the earth. Some people are very tempted to have sexual relations with the opposite gender..prior to marriage..& without consideration of marriage at all. Some people are tempted to do things that are not legal...or hateful...some people cannot control their tongue & use it to spread gossip or to judge. Some people cannot keep from stealing, lying, abusing, murdering, neglecting, being jealous of others...and many other things that are temptations- that when acted upon- cause us to sin. When we accept Jesus...we turn from all of it

Why is this one “sin” seen as so much worse than all the others? No one blinks at a heterosexual couple being on their second, third, or fifteenth marriage, yet Jesus directly called that out as adultery. No one hesitated to openly covet material goods, and that’s in the big ten! All of this gnashing about gay marriage sounds like hypocrisy in that light.
The only word is the word of God, God doesn’t change he clearly stated marriage is between Man and Women and God doesn’t lie , repent before it’s to late. God is not a God accommodation, he is true to his word and No,he won’t change.
CECP CECP sure man. Proove god’s word is worth a damn then we will gladly repent. Until then all I hear is a deluted manchild that thinks gay people are yucky.
Conservatives: Stop assuming that 'biblical inerrancy' is/should/must be a component of strong theology. Never has been true, never will be true. Understand that taking moral dictates on pure faith is shaky epistemological ground. Liberals: Empathize with conservatives who are afraid that endorsing homosexual relationships will open the door to endorsing things like polygamy and pederasty. Use reason, not relativism and emotion, to defend your position or you have no position.
Sure you can be gay and be a Christian. But operating in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, consumed by the 🔥 and still engaging in homosexuality, not a chance. The Holy Spirit is just what His name suggests. Holy.

I feel so this man. It has to be very hard. However, the Word of God is very clear. Jesus wept over Jerusalem. What it did to His heart. My son died at 29 so I understand pain. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of the sin they lived and embraced. God is loving and judge. No matter what we want to believe it isn’t up to us. Why do people say we are deceived when we tell you that we are not living in the last days?
Here are 10 proofs from Scripture that it is referring to the end of the Mosaic Covenant.
1. John already said his time was already the last hour.
1 John 2:18
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
If it was the last hour in his time surely it cannot be the last days now. A hour is shorter than a day.
2. Jesus said it would happen in AD70.
Matthew 23:35-36
so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.
When he said these words, it was AD30. One generation is 40 years. It happen in AD70. It’s not our generation. It is his.
3. The day of the Lord was again the Jews not the Gentiles.
1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
There are no Jews who would stop the preaching of Jesus to you today.
4. Jesus never said it was a worldwide tribulation.
Matthew 24:16
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
It was in the vicinity of Judea. Jerusalem.
5. What about “every eye will see him?”
Revelation 1:7
“every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
“Every eye shall see him” is qualified with the words “everyone that pierced him”.
There is only one generation of people who pierced him. Those who lived within the generation he had gone to.
Also it is a quote from:
Zechariah 12:10-11
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.
They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”
I want us to see what John wants you to know that the age of grace and supplication has come because of the death of Jesus. I also want you to see how this would come into fruition. See verse 11.
“On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.”
Note it has to do with the weeping in Jerusalem.
6. Hebrews 9:26 actually tells you the world “ended” on the cross.
Hebrews 9:26
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
7. The Temple existed in Jerusalem during the time of Revelation.
Revelation 11:1
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
The Temple was destroyed in AD70. The angel could not have ask him to measure a temple erected for today. John is long asleep.
8. John said he was experiencing the tribulation himself.
Revelation 1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
When he saw the events showed to him, he was in Patmos. At the time of him writing the letter he was no longer in Patmos, he was going through the tribulation with his fellow believers.
9. Josephus who was there in AD70 wrote this.
Josephus (A.D. 75) - Jewish Historian
“Besides these [signs], a few days after that feast, on the one- and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities.
For before sunset chariots were seen in the air over the whole country, and armed battalions speeding through the clouds and encircling the cities.” (rendered in Chilton)
10. Paul himself says Sinai is the city of Jerusalem at that time.
Galatians 4:25
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
That Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70. It was destroyed to make way for the New Jerusalem.
This was even stated in Hebrews.
Hebrews 13:14
For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Jerusalem (at that time) was about to be destroyed.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you
You can't get more equal than treating everyone else the same way you want to be treated.
Boulder Field
Whenever you tell someone that even the unbelievers are forgiven on the cross, people will call us universalists.
Our feelings, emotions or anecdotal experiences should never be used as personal evidence that we are doing God's will.
Do you have another suggestion? Faith is inevitably a person, experiential process. It's a foundational tenet of Methodism and Evangelicalism.
The Bible.
Thank you for this.
When the day arrives to kneel before the throne. Our king will enlighten you with the truth. Whatever it may be, it will only belong to you and the Lord. Do not be afraid brothers and sisters for the path is foggy. Do not let the sinner dictate your fate. Ask the Lord to shower you with the holy spirit to provide you with wisdom and strength. Let that solitary moment in his glory guide you to come to your decision. I would ask you brothers and sisters to look to the book of Life for the answer you need while fighting the war of temptation. Do not be distracted by the static noise for it lies. Be wise and find your truth in the word.

There's only 2 times a man gets on his knees 1 is to pray to God & 2 to propose to his wife.
I disagree, in the Bible a man went to the girls father and payed a dowry. We are not to worship our wives. Also government marriage license is not even biblical.
if you have sex with a woman you are married
@@ryanehlis426 That's why there has to be an iron wall between church and state. We can all believe in what we believe as far as the world beyond this one, but it isn't right for religious ideology to form the basis for legislation that affects civil society, and I'm sure you don't want secular philosophy to have jurisdiction over your Biblical practices. That's totally understandable. The solution is to just keep them away from each other.

Why do you thumb your nose at JESUS marriage mandate? Christians are supposed ot influence culture...not vice versa
Charolette, NC? Where's that?

I trust God's grace and forgiveness.
mrs3Quator Amen!
you have perfectly responded. it's not about the law, it's about love. my pentecostal pastor welcomed blacks into our mississippi church in 1960. an incredible witness for me. i stand with you.

That's why I don't believe in denominations!they tend to try and make their own rules, and don't seek God and the bible for answers!!
Maybe the tent is just too big to include everyone, and everybody's ideas. When you go outside of scripture to accomplish this, you have grown too big for your theology.
Preach the truth of scripture. The Lord is righteous. The Lord loves righteous ness.
The musical background is an interesting observation. Note the use of “social justice” as it relates to political activism and never scriptural call.
