SWISS Airbus A220-100 Noisy Spool Up & Close Up Departure from Manchester Airport

- On 28th July 2016 SWISS airlines commenced A220-100 operations on the LX390 morning flight to Manchester.
Manchester was one of the first 3 routes to be served by the A220 by SWISS just a matter of weeks after the first A220 was delivered to SWISS on June 28th 2016. (Launch customer)
After numerous different spotting trips in the summer we failed to see the A220until a matter of weeks ago on the 24th September.
We were extremely impressed with the overall look and product of the A220 and it was great to see at MAN. Unfortunately the A220 will stop operating the route to Manchester for 5 months, stopping on October 28th.
The aircraft featured in this video was HB-JBB, one of SWISS's latest A220's, just under a month old at the time of filming. The aircraft departed Manchester just after 9am, taxiing to runway 23L where it lined up and departed on its short flight to Zurich.
One thing we did notice was the noise that was produced whilst spoiling up. There seemed to be a funny noise for around 5 seconds before the engines kicked in and spoiled up, however overall it a great and great looking aircraft which we hope to fly on in the future.

The whale mating sound is so distinctive.
The spool up is as if the plane moans and groans about going into the air, its quietness is it muttering four-letter words under its breath.

You can easily tell this plane apart when your outside lol
I flew the CS300 a couple months ago. I also live under the Geneva approach (about 10km out). I noticed the strange spool sound on my flight when we were coming in to land. Each time a little bit of extra thrust was generated, the engines would make a noisy whining sound for about 2-3 seconds. I now hear this multiple times a day when these planes land in GVA. I can even hear it from inside my house, unlike most other planes. I know right away when a CS series is above.
Actually, the weird spool up sound is heard very well at 1:19 on this vid: ruclips.net/video/Fg_vE4leKJM/видео.html It's so weird. never heard any other plane do this, and frankly it's really annoying having this over my house several times a day...

Most disturbing landing noise! Even more than a 747, MD-11,... Who approves to release such sh..t engines in 2010s and on??!

That spool up noise sounds like something is oscillating/loose fan belt. It's damn noisy inside.
Disconcerting if you're not use to engine making that noise before.
