Sounds can bring back memories from the past

There are sounds that can evoke decades-old memories and can immediately give us joy, sadness, melancholy, obviously it depends on what the memory is associated with.
The sounds we perceive are fixed in the memory even if we do not realize it, it is as if they entered a drawer and can remain closed for a very long time.
Maybe we hear the same sound and out of the blue, we remember a past event that we thought we no longer remember. In fact, sound can open up many memories that also affect the other senses such as sight, smell, and touch.
This happens when a certain sound has marked our life in a positive or negative way.
For example, I recently listened to an old Lavazza commercial with Nino Manfredi who said: the more you put it down, the more it picks you up.
It was at that exact moment that I remembered evenings at home with my parents watching movies, sitting on the sofa, of which I also remember the color and texture of the fabric.
If I hadn't heard that commercial, I wouldn't have remembered these details.
