Never heard The Limehouse Blues played better .... Maybe ASCONA the most beautiful jazz-spot in the world, gave these stars this super-inspiration.............
I don't often agree with superlative claims. So much crap is spouted by claimants who don't know what day it is & often have to think hard about what year it is !! This "The Best" is justified. Oh Boy..Is it!!?! These guys hit you between the eyes with jazz you love & have done for years plus jazz you really thought you didn't love but have just changed your mind! Must go now and practice my scales and arpeggios before my dad kicks my butt. (I'm 74 in Dec!) Thanks for the video. I mean THANKS!
YEAH! Go Troy Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )))))))) GREAT BAND! This is happy/energetic music pure! Hi Warren, Hi Allen, hope you come back to Vienna and play at Jazzland again soon. AWESOME!
A strong clip. These guys show that jazz had life, complexity, and above all swing before the beboppers. Even though they don't play the language of Bird, Diz, Trane, etc., they know how to structure fresh complete solos and never to stop swinging. The stand-out by a long shot is Harry Allen's tenor. The best I've heard from him and up there with Lovano, Redman, Branford or any other preset-day tenor player.
Man...You got your finger FIRMLY on the pulse, and how! Bet my last buck that you are a long standing player of some instrument or another, who knows the score! Big time! I wish I knew you more! Good Luck..
Fantastici........John super ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Harry Allen on sax - played at my daughters wedding. She and husband knew him from school. No one could dance to the music but I loved it lol.
Dear Uncle Gus!! Super stuff here. Had to adjust my thermostat in the middle of the tune to accommodate all the heat. True story!!
SIMPLY AMAZING PLAYERS!
Just awsome!!
Great players like Warren Vache always make it look and sound effortless.
