I don’t think there was ever,or will ever be, a better Dixieland band than those put together by Eddie Condon. Simply brilliant

Wild Bill, Ed Hall, Willie, all are superb. If I was banished to a desert island with only 10 videos, THIS one would be at the top.
    Many thanks

So nice. A legendary clip. It makes me hungry for more. Wouldn't it be a dream come true if the whole show could be shown on television again,and/ or made into a DVD for the marketplace.

I would give nearly anything to go back in time and spend the night hanging out at Eddie Condon’s - I imagine a smoky place smelling like stale beer and great music pouring off the stage. Sounds good to me, I would’ve gone a lot had I been born then!

The father of a member of the band I used to play had been to Eddie Condon's place and said they always were totally smashed (full of alcohol)..!

Tastes change - but we should demand traditional New Orleans/Chicago style jazz to make a comeback - the world can really use this joyous, swinging music again

@@bobboscarato1313 hey you never know…swing dancing and sort of watered-down big band music made a comeback in the 1990s, hot jazz could make a comeback during these horrible times in the world-the world can really use some happy powerful music to take our minds of craziness. Yeah-Hip Hop lyrics can get dark, not very uplifting, powerful and political but not really up and positive. And the grooves are samples and drum machine vibe-interesting but cold.

Too bad the video slips off several times on this because the venue is really the way I think this music should be seen--- up close and personal and with little background distraction.
    G. Wettling was the perfect drummer for this kind of Hot Jazz IMO. Cutty's solo got mangled my the video but what a giant player he was!
