2026 Mercedes Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Revealed

Mercedes has unveiled the 2026 SL 680 Monogram Series, a luxurious upgrade to their iconic roadster, with a focus on comfort and design. The exterior of this Maybach edition stands out with two distinct design concepts: Red Ambience and White Ambience. Both versions feature a Maybach-specific illuminated grille and an upright Mercedes three-pointed star on the hood. The headlamps are adorned with elegant rose gold accents, while the windshield frame is finished in chrome. Buyers have the option to choose between five-hole Monoblock or multi-spoke 21-inch wheels.
The soft top, in a sophisticated black, is subtly patterned with Maybach logos in anthracite. For those who want an extra touch of luxury, this pattern can also be added to the hood, hand-sanded before printing. The rear of the car features Maybach-specific tail lamps, a chrome-trimmed fascia, and a distinctive diffuser with specialized exhaust outlets.
Inside, the cabin is draped in Crystal White Nappa leather, covering the seats, door panels, and center console. The space behind the seats is also upholstered in the same luxurious leather. Mechanically, the Monogram Series is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, delivering 577 horsepower to all four wheels, enhanced by a softer suspension and additional soundproofing for a smoother, quieter ride. Deliveries are expected in late 2025.

Why have they called it 680 when it has a V8?
I thought the V8s were called 580 and V12s were called 680 in modern Maybach speak?
