I love how clearly you explain and show how to do things. I have just started to fish, and so many peoples videos leave me confused. So keep it up, there are always beginners searching for lessons.
Thanks for the video and showing how to use those newer style knots. I usually use the little red pieces but it appears those type of stops you used are easier. Ordering a pack today from Amazon.
Man i'm just getting into fishing ( a week lol) and your vids have helped me understand a lot!! Thanks for being so thorough. just gained a new subscriber
That will work for maybe 2-3 feet. This allows you to go however deep you want, because you can reel in your line into you reel with the bobber stop (8, 10 ft, 30 ft, etc) which you can not do with a weight. 👍🏼
*These are easy to use and highly visible **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they are extremely valuable for going from a dead drift set up to a float setup. They save time and you don't have to re-tie everything to add a float to your presentation.*
Thanks for adding in why you use a slip bobber I never really understood why people would use one but that makes sense because when I try to put a regular bobber on three feet of line I can't cast it very well
How do you slip the bobber to different depths for different parts of the river? I adjust mine at every hole. I do it differently by keeping that tube on the line
Whenever I use a slip bobber the bobber stop knot soaks up water and comes undone after a dozen or so casts. I pull the thing as tight as I can but it doesn't make a difference. Any tips on why this might happen and how to remedy it?
You can tie the two end strings of the know together if you have that issue. it makes it a bit harder to slide to adjust depth, but not impossible. Also wetting the string before tightening it also helps.
most of the time I just use a fishermen's knot if im fishing live bait. if your fishing a lure that you want to stay horizontal, I would tie a loop knot.
If you're going to fish with bobbers, slip bobbers are the only way to go. You can set them (how deep) and size them (how much weight of lure, bait, line, etc,) will they support for any depth of water and any reasonable amount of weight hanging from them. I'm in the process of training a couple rookie fishermen and bobber fishing is the method they're most comfortable with so far. I just sent them this video to watch before the next time we go out.
Super silly question. How do you know which color on a bobber should be facing down? I notice that the slip bobber has the black color facing down. On a fixed bobber does the red always face down? Also how do you know how much line to put below the knot? Is it just a guess? How do you know 3ft is good?
I don’t know on the first question but it probably doesn’t matter to much. Second question about how much line you want to know the depth of the water and the depth that they are suspending in. That can be easy if you have a fish finder if not it can be a little more work if you don’t
Because bobbers are all different colors the best way to tell is by the shape. until you get the hang of it look at the diagram on the package the bobber comes in. not a silly question.
Thanks for doing this video. When ya haven’t wetted a line in 10 years, it’s nice to refer to these little videos to hold down the idiot factor to a minimum. ha!
Dan - I have much more experience with a fixed bobber. I say that to say I tried using a slip bobber while fishing n a little deeper water a few days ago after watching this video. Very simple set up, but the bobber stop was moving or slipping when I reeled the stop through the rod eyelet. I had to constantly reset the string bobber stop after reeling up each time. Had bobber stop tight as I could get it, but it would move when reeled through the eyelet. Do you have a suggestion as to to how to keep this from happening? Made it not practical to use as I was having to constantly adjust the bobber stop. Because of depth I was fishing I had to reel the bobber stop through the top couple of eyelets. Maybe a another type of bobber stop would help?
hey Wesley, That is a common problem… it unfortunately happens all the time. One thing you can do that helps is to be mindful when the bobber stop is getting close to the eyes of your rod.. then remove the flex in your rod by pointing the eyes right at the bobber so the line goes straight in. its usually just the first two eyes that move the bobber stop. that will help but it will still happen sometimes...
I have had trouble with the premade bobber stops. The line they use is too thick. You can't cast without the bobber stop getting caught in the rod guides. I make my own bobber stops now.
i bought some bobberstops went home.. and was like wtf is this how do i use it? lol im used to the other kind of bobbers that you just pinch the line through.. thanks for the instructional video
I honestly don’t know how these work. You did a great job at explaining and it’s totally understandable but maybe I need to take it out myself and try a couple cast to see it. I didn’t think it’d go back into the reel. Hmm idk. I have to try it out now.
yea try it... once you tighten the bobber stop it is small enough it goes right through the eyes of your rod... be sure to cut the extra string on your bobber stop or it will catch when you try to cast.
I have 2 head injuries and while it looks simple enough , it seems hard for me to grasp. If I am casting from shore 20 feet and going down 8 feet, that = 38 feet of line and I cannot reach the tied part to slide it further out or in.
you set the tied part (bobber stop) before you cast. then you reel your line up to cast. the bobber stop will end up being reeled onto your spool of line. then when you cast "20 feet" when your bobber hits the water the line with your jig will sink till it hits the bobber stop you set 8 feet down.
As a new fisherman, I’m always trying to find demos explained in layman’s terms. This is perfectly done. Thank you sir!
thanks man! you bet!
Truth
Your or a good teacher I feel like I got a fish all ready perfect example
Totally agree! Thank you for a simple explanation…

thanks Deb H!
I’ve been bluegill fishing for 25yrs n never learned this…😅 I’ve been successful but it’s fall n need to fish deep.. this was a good vid!
Wow I can't believe it took me this long to understand how it all worked together, thanks, I'm off to go catch Slabs now!
good luck man!
Same. 56 years old 😅
Honestly the best video explaining this. A lot of videos just go way too quick but you went super in depth for each step. Thanks man.
thanks!
best video I've watched so far thanks Dan heading to Ely,Mn next month for a week with the boys and now I can rig my own pole thank you
You really made the whole slip bobber rig simple!
The best explanation video I've seen!
Great simple explanation!! So far the best description.
thanks man!
Kudos to you for just explaining it fast and getting to the information!
Thanks for helping me more then my dad ever did❤
Most effective tutorial to date good work man.
Thanks for the video and showing how to use those newer style knots. I usually use the little red pieces but it appears those type of stops you used are easier. Ordering a pack today from Amazon.
Thanks for this simple but so needed video…
Holy crap I was watching so many videos for so long until this video not even lying this was was helpfull
Very helpful and clear description of how to put this on. Thank you!
Man i'm just getting into fishing ( a week lol) and your vids have helped me understand a lot!! Thanks for being so thorough. just gained a new subscriber
Your video was excellent, better than most I watched! Thank you. Ed
thanks Ed!
Hey Dan, great informative video. Could you use a small little pinch weight instead of the bobber stopper with the knot?
That will work for maybe 2-3 feet. This allows you to go however deep you want, because you can reel in your line into you reel with the bobber stop (8, 10 ft, 30 ft, etc) which you can not do with a weight. 👍🏼
Excellent video Sir. So clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much for educating me on this and making it easy to follow. Your amazing.
thanks a lot man!
thanks for this I wanted to know for years how to use a slip bobber awesome
You just taught me something and believe me brother that's a feat in itself. New subber.... Gone fishing to try my new bobber tricks 🎉
first video I've seen this simple.
Thanks for sharing. Should I put on a small split sinker above the hook.
Thanks
yes, but not to small... make sure it is heavy enough to pull all the line through the slip bobber.

Thanks for the tip
Thank you so much man! I'm new to this fishing game and I deeply appreciate your videos. Very informative! Great job!!
you bet! thanks for the feedback!
Nice vid. So do I just use some fishing line to retie that knot if I swap the bobber off for a bit or the line breaks?
I'll have to give this a try - never used a slip bobber.
Nicely done. Made look very simple. Thanks!
Never done this before. Thanks for making it straight to the point and simple
you bet man!
*These are easy to use and highly visible **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they are extremely valuable for going from a dead drift set up to a float setup. They save time and you don't have to re-tie everything to add a float to your presentation.*
Great video to break it down! Finally makes sense.
Thanks a lot man. This video was perfect. Step by step to a T. Gone are my days of stupid casting with a fixed bobber
you bet man!
Could I use a spilt shot instead of a stoper
Thanks very helpful been making alot of mistakes .. Been fishing this rig without the two most important things bobber stop and bead
Best video out there for easy application. Thanks👍.
thanks
Thanks man ! you've explained how to rig a slip bobber plain and simple.
You bet!
I know I’m late to this vid but does that beed ever get caught up or tangled up when casting?
Thanks for adding in why you use a slip bobber I never really understood why people would use one but that makes sense because when I try to put a regular bobber on three feet of line I can't cast it very well
right on man! you bet!
Best video I’ve seen so far
That a really good presentation.
In UK you can get silicone float stops to use instead of the sliding line knot & they are very discreet.
I thought this was complicated but you’ve helped a ton! Thanks 👍
Can you advise please the bobber I have is the same one in your video but but mines comes right out of the stick part how do I set this up
Excellent video. Concise and right to the point.
thanks man!
Thanks for this, gonna use this tomorrow 👍👍👍👍
good job. I like how this was explained
Thanks for the very helpful video I look forward to trying this new rig!
you bet man! good luck!
Wow! Awesome vid! Thanks for your help man🔥
Can I use sinkers rather than the bobber stops?
What are you do if you want to adjust depth
Thanks I was looking for a video like this.
What is the difference between this and a spring bobber?
any suggestions why the bobber stop is becoming unraveled while in use?
Thanks bro, this is a whole different game coming over from bass fishing lol, typically its tying on a lure n ur good
Instead of the stopper knot, is there any reason you can't just use a bead peg the same as you do when drifting beads?
How do you slip the bobber to different depths for different parts of the river? I adjust mine at every hole. I do it differently by keeping that tube on the line
How many times have you left the tube on the bobber stopper ?
thank you. my questions is .. do i need swivels anywhere aroung the slip bobber?
no problem! no you do not need a swivel.
Good...will that bober stop go smothly in the rod guides...
fairly, it will get moved a few times and you will have to adjust it.
@@dominatefishing9641 oh ..thank u..
Great explanation - thank you!!…and subscribed!
Can I use this slip bobber and a fly?

Got a question:
If you put a bobber stop 30 ft up your line, wouldn't the bobber stop get tangled in your reel when you reek it in??
no it just wraps around the reel with your line...
My bobber stop get stuck in the eyes when reeling up and moves deeper when I cast. What's the trick?
When i use a bead it keep going in to the eye of the rod then it doesn't cast good how do i fix that
Is there a particular knot you like to use to tie jig when fishing the jig under a float?
most of the time I just use a fishermen's knot if im fishing live bait. if your fishing a lure that you want to stay horizontal, I would tie a loop knot.

Harrison Walker Thanks!

So the knot will go through the eyelets and onto your reel, but the bead will stop at the end of your rod?
bead should stay down near your bobber.
What size bobber should you use? They make all different sizes.
Depends on the weight of your jig or sinker
How do you tie the knot on the little clear plastic tube thing
once your line is through the tube... you slide the knot(which is the bobber stop) off the tube, then just pull the two ends tight to form the knot.
Thx for showing. So useful
thanks! been watching videos of ppl swearing by these without explaineing how to rig it!
you bet!
where do you get the bobber stop ? you make it or buy it ? where ?
you can but them in packs... I get them at a local bait shop but you can order them online also.
sure beats trying to throw your bait with 15 feet of line to the bobber. Makes things a lot easier. I like the adjustment with the stopper too.
Thanks for the great tutorial!

Great video - Where do you buy these sliding bobbers?
you can get them at almost any sporting good store or on amazon or cabelas.com
Thank you for making it so simple
Thanks for doing this video. When ya haven’t wetted a line in 10 years, it’s nice to refer to these little videos to hold down the idiot factor to a minimum. ha!
Great demo!!!!!!
Nice job.Thanks for the video.
Do you not use a weight for this? If so where would you place the weight for this specific setup and what kind of weight?
yes use a weight, a split shot works well. put it about a foot above the hook, you want it under the bobber.
Excellent. Thank you. 👍🏾
Fantastic video. Thank you so much!
thanks Andy!
I always wondered how these things work. Good video!
thanks man!
Vert useful helped me learn first try I reccomend this for everyone thank you

Thanks you sooo much bro. I've been wondering for the longest time how to rig those darn things😅. Great video bro.👊💯. I've subscribed.

Excellent sir
Ive been drinking, too. Thanks for explaining this to a drunk guy
Would this be useful for spade fishing? Great video btw
I think so, but I have never fished for them. I am not exactly sure what the technique is.
How do you cast with the bead on it
the bead should stay down by the bobber... out of the way
Why would anybody ever use this setup compared to a regular bobber you can put on in like than 5 seconds? Just curious, thanks
